Hypnotic (2021)
Shouldn't be tagged as Mystery-Genre
The plot is very predictable from the beginning til end. Or maybe i just expected a more surprising plot twist in the end but didn't give me one
Overall, the movie is good. Kate Siegel is the queen of thriller genre from Hush to Bly Banor to Hypnotic.
A Classic Horror Story (2021)
A Classic Horror Story indeed!
It's predictably unpredicted modern horror film.
The lead actress, Matilda Lutz, is really a great actress. Her character portrayal in a Netflix Original film 'Revenge' was superb, and so on this one. She did a great job!
If you liked 'Cabin in the Woods', you'll definitely love and enjoy this movie. Not really a suprising plot twist. But a twist that will surely you liked.
Things Heard & Seen (2021)
The Amityville spin-off? Really!?
It was so-so. It's watchable, entertaining to watch and the pacing was good. Though the plot has been recyled. It seems like i am watching 'The Amityville Horror' reboot/remake.
If it wasn't Amanda i don't think viewers would waste their time to watch it. Is just that, i was expecting more or a big plot twist and some sort of cult genre into it as it looks like one shown on the trailer. But then again, it was okay.
1 star for Amanda Seyfried, another star for cinematography and CGI, another star for casting and 2 stars for the ending. 5 star rating is a fair game. Give it a shot and watch it!
Homunculus (2021)
It's about Trauma, Guilt & Self-Forgiveness
The film is too deep. It tells us how everyone has its own ghosts and monsters within us, that either we're trying to forget or too afraid to remember/accept. The film can also be categorized as a psychological thriller with a bit of science fiction. Japanese film is really weird... weird in a good way.
This film is based on manga. It is surprising that filmmaker were able to give justice to it. Not great but was okay and watchable compared to other films that were also adapted from manga. Is just that it's too dragging. Good but not rewatchable.

IT HAUNTS ME UP TO THIS DAY!!!
I've seen this film few days ago when it was first available on Netflix. And up to now, this film still haunts me. It broke me into tears. A real tear-jerker film. Everything's perfect. From casting, cinematography, music, etc. An oscar worthy film! The main actor really did a great job aside from being too handsome. His acting is superb and gives justice to the role. This kind of film should be recommended to all viewers!

This film reminds me of 'Take me to Church' MV
Acting is good. Casting is good. Cinematography is Good. Everything seems to be good. It's just that the story line itself makes no sense. It will will keep you hanging and will haunt you forever. Also, I don't see the connection between the 2 lead male characters. It seems that they only enjoy each others company. More of a lust than love. And the ending. Tsss. Disappointing, heartbreaking and sad.
The Devil All the Time (2020)
Slow-Burning with a Satisfying Ending
I've read the book and all i can say is that the movie was well made. The exuction is really good. From the narrator to character introduction and build up.
The film tells us, that each one of us has its own devil or evil within us. Some were born bad, some were born good and becomes bad. Some do bad things with no reason, and some with.
It's a cycle of unfortunate events (killings) that evolves to characters which is connected with each other and how the main character (Arvin - Tom Holland) ended it.
Busanhaeng 2: Bando (2020)
75% - CGI ,15% - Humans & 10% - Zombie
Like WTF!? Did i just watch series of video clips from a video game? The CGI in this movie is very strong! Almost everything is CGI. I was really disappointed. It's like they tried really hard to do a sequel of 'Train to Busan' but to nowhere.
Also is this a rip-off of 'Fast & Furious'?!? Lol. The car racing scenes makes me cringe AF!
Fuego negro (2020)
Please, please, please people! Save your precious time
DON'T WATCH THIS! JUST DON'T! Everything is just terrible. Nothing is good in this film. It's even scarier for the fact how it was released than the film itself.
The Maid (2020)
Unexpectedly Satisfying Good Movie!
The film is divided into three chapters. Every chapter has its own revelation by the end of each chapter. Though the plot is predictable and quite cliche, the execution is really good. From character introduction to character development/build up until revelation.
I'm not sure why this film is really good. If it's because it's a Netflix original film or it's from Thailand. Thailand's cinema is really improving a lot especially in horror genre, they're next to South Korea & Japan who's really good in horror films.
Overall, movie is way beyond good. Entertaining to watch from beginning til the end.
UnTrue (2019)
Predictable but exceeds my expectations a bit
Filipino film's cinematography is getting better and better each year. I liked how they usually uses cyan blue (present scenes) and sepia/b&w-ish (flashbacks/revelation scenes) color palette for horror/thriller genre movies. What's really lacking are some orginality and uniqueness of the screenplay. It's either recycled or a copycat from foreign films.
You Should Have Left (2020)
Insanely Good Movie
This movie is superb! It tells how powerful our mind is, how it controls everything. Either your mind/consience let it consumes you, or you consume it. The house represents Theo's mind (Kevin Bacon). A psychological thriller comparable to 'Shutter Island'.
A must-see movie. I won't spoil it too much. Just watch it!
Just because you don't understand means it's bad. This movie is just for highly intellectual viewers. If you're not, just skip this movie.
Sunod (2019)
The Skeleton Key (Filipino Version) ?
Recently seen this movie on Netflix. Cinematography si great! They used the cyan blue and sepia for film color palettes that adds sadness and gloominess to the entire movie. Cinematography wise - it was perfect!
The movie was entertaining to watch. It's just that the film lacks originality and unsatisfying ending just like 'The Skeleton Key'. The antagonist's motive is to take over protagonist's body.
A horror genre movie with possession and sort of a witch craft. Just your typical filipino copycat horror movie.
Classic Again (2020)
The Best Thai Remake So Far
If you enjoyed the original, you will definitely love this Thai Remake as well.
Cinematography is great! The only lacking on this film are some good music like the original. They should have use the same Canon in D, Firefly and other instrumentals (but in their own version) to make it more melancholic.
Becky (2020)
BLOODY DISGUSTING 'HOME ALONE' RIP-OFF
Movie is so-so with a mediocre plot. Story line is very weak that could be better in so many ways but the writer failed to do so.
The only good thing about this movie was Lulu Wilson's acting. She's a true gem. A new rising-star for Horror/Thriller genre films.
Rodeukil (2019)
Predictably Unpredictable - A Great Plot Twist!
South Korean filmmakers are really good in making mystery thriller movies that's really unpredictable. Name it: they have 'Old Boy', 'Mother', 'Forgotten', 'The Wailing', 'The Piper' TMTL... They're good in making plots that make the viewers think it's predictable, that they already know the story, but would end up not. They're good in challenging & tricking viewer's minds. They will give you out of the box plot twists that viewers can't possibly guess. It will just surprise you at the end part of the movie. Road Kill is undeniably a good film. Not too slow-paced and not too fast.
Dew (2019)
A Korean Movie Remake (Bungee Jumping on their own)
In the original Korean Movie, the 2 main characters were straight guy & girl. The girl then died and reincarnated to a high school guy years later.
In Thailand remake, they added a bit of a twist from the original and make it the other way around. The 2 main characters were gay. The other gay guy then died and reincarnated to a high school girl years later.
Over all the movie was supposed to be good, but the execution wasn't. The transition from past to present wasn't that good and makes it looks like a 2 different stories that aren't related to each other. In addition, many viewers were also confused as they used 2 different actors present & past (Unlike in Korean the guy was portrayed by the same actor - Lee Byung-hyun).
La casa de papel (2017)
When NETFLIX took over
La Casa De Papel (aka Money Heist) was a masterpiece! Until Netflix took over and created Season 2 (Part III & IV).
Ending of Season 1 (Part I & II) was perfect, leaving audiences a bittersweet ending. But netflix ruined it by making a sequel and adding back stories from its original supposed to be good story. Look what happened to Riverdale - a total mess after the next few seasons. Please STOP...Just STOP making more seasons. I hope Part V would be the last.
Exes Baggage (2018)
OVER-HYPED Movie! Not worth to watch in the big screen!
Weeks before the release of this movie, a lot of tv guestings has been made. Name it all - GGV, Tonight with Boy Abunda, It's Showtime, ASAP, etc. just to promote this movie. In short, it was too overrated! I was scammed! I honestly just watch it because of the theme song used (Maybe the Night - Ben&Ben) & of course because of CarGel (90s kids will understand the feels) but other than that the story line is a so-so
A lot of "Kilig" scenes will make you cuddle your bf/gf and a bit of a comedy. It's just a typical story of how a couple cope with their exes, how they broke up & eventually got back together with each other's arms again. Plot has been used several times. Nothing special on this movie.
