Doctor Who: It Takes You Away (2018)
Collecting kid's shoes
"A maniac that collects child's shoes."
Some good character development, but Yaz was a ghost as usual. Graham and Ryan are great. Could have done without the inconsistant moths and CGI frog though.
Just a weird time all round.
Doctor Who: The Witchfinders (2018)
Convoluted mess
What even was this. It felt so messy. It felt so dark and gritty as well. No real threat to speak of. The plotnwas so slow and then sped up so quickly the final confrontation was literally 5 mintues. It was lacking substance, weakest episode of the season for me.
Doctor Who: Demons of the Punjab (2018)
Powerful history
Incredible episode, thought provoking, and a pleasant surprise? I must admit I was regretting this episode when it was first announced. But honestly, it was the best episode yet! It includes time travel clichés, tough decisions and great characters. Doctor Who at it's core. Here's hoping it continues with this standard.
Doctor Who: The Tsuranga Conundrum (2018)
Solid 7.5
Decent spaceship disaster. A lot of character development for Ryan. Yaz does nothing, an android was more interesting than her and had more to do. Graham had some involvement at least.
Cute little alien but not really outstanding.
Probably the first solid episode of the whole season for me, a vast improvement from last week. But it still lacks a little something, can't put my finger on it though.
Doctor Who: Arachnids in the UK (2018)
Really? A trump parody?
This was poor, very poor. The conclusion was insanely disappointing. Worst episode of doctor who I've ever seen.
Poor 'villain', poor CGI, poor script, decent lighting.
Then to top it all off, a character based off of trump. Honestly it was so pathetic and cringey. Step it up for the rest of the season please, for the sake of Doctor Who.
Doctor Who: The Woman Who Fell to Earth (2018)
Meh
Good camera work, good lighting, good sound design. Technically well made. However the characters felt a bit generic for me, hopefully they get a bit more fleshed out. Script was a bit meh, felt a little flat at times. Some good comedy bits but mostly dark stuff. Very obvious plot points and concequences.
Main question though, does it feel like doctor who? Honestly, not currently, but it is only the first episode.
How's Jodie? She's alrite. The other characters didn't stand out for me. I would've preferred one companion.
Overall just ok. While technically well made, the story didnt really do much for me.
