Breaking Bad: Phoenix (2009)
Amazingly intense
I'm a little late to the party but I've begun binging on Breaking Bad. This episode may very well be the most intense single episode I have seen. I believe that by the end, I was sitting there with my mouth open and bug-eyed. Exceptional TV.
Ozark: Kevin Cronin Was Here (2020)
First 'bad' episode
The Sopranos did it. Breaking Bad did it. Game of Thrones did it. Now Ozark has done it: produced a meh episode. Is meh the correct word now? I'm older than I used to be so I hope I'm using it in context.
Not a terrible episode in a fantastic, amazing series but the first one that I've seen that lost my interest a bit. Also, the REO thing was..hokey. Is that a word now? REO was HUGE in my teens. To see them portrayed as this is...sad. Maybe they do shows this small, I don't know, but overall it just made me feel like the insurance commercial that has the band Ratt in the kitchen. Not good.
And the FBI auditing the heck out of the casino--can they do that? Seems pretty invasive. Not that I'm rooting for the bad guys but I'm...okay, I'm rooting for the bad guys. I also rooted for Tony S. and Walter White. Not the White Walkers though--I have standards.
Tiger King (2020)
Like rubbernecking at a crash scene
This is hard to admit: I've started watching this mess. It is like a bad crash that you have to slow down and look at. Most of the characters are repulsive--especially 'Joe Exotic' and Carole Baskin. The feud between these two is the equivalent of two 14 year-old girls jealously sniping at each other, the exception being that they both seem just like lost, evil souls. I'll watch the series--about 2 or 3 episodes to go--just to see where it goes. I'll walk away at that point and probably never think about this cluster of clowns again.
9-1-1: Lone Star (2020)
Easily the worst I've ever seen
This isn't about firefighting. This is the far left liberal agenda masquerading as a drama. I imagine they spend a lot of money on this show--all to indoctrinate America, not entertain it. Sad, useless and utter trash. Rob Lowe deserves better, his talents are wasted in this 'show'.
Superstore (2015)
Pretty horrible
This is comedy? This is entertainment? Really, really bad. It came on after Jeopardy and I watched in fascination at how lame TV can be.
The Open House (2018)
Ending
Not great but watchable. The ending however is ridiculous. Probably 5 or 6 stars except the end.
