Miseuteo Shunshain (2018)
AMAZING!!! It ripped my soul.
This series makes you FEEL things.
Makes you open your heart and process a ton of emotions and in the end it will leave you sad and longing for those sad feelings. I don't know how they did it but it is the first time in my life that i am really sad in my daily life from the events depicted in the movie. I will surely need some time to get pass this super influent k-drama.
From whatever point of view you try to analyse this drama is perfect. Read that again. PERFECT.
It has romance, patriotism, drama, crime, mystery, suspence and a little touch of comedy.
The carachters play their parts extraordinary, even the kids. Each main character has unique and complex stories that get developed throughout the series.
I didn't quite like Eugene at first but i i was drawn to his chivalry and warm heart.
Dong-Mae was a to die for Samurai and i really cried whenever he was going thorugh pain or loss or deception.
Hina is the 'femme fatale' bringing the mysterious touch.
Ae-jin is in my oppinion a metaphor of Korea and the 3 men trying to save her is as equal as saving the country.
Scenery,costumes all spot on.
Try also to listen the ost. The song "days without tears" is the best.
If there is something i don't like about the series is that is called 'Mr. Sunshine' and people don't find the name quite fitting for the story thus most of them ignore it and don't give it a try.
Anyway,If you want your world to turn upside down, this is the series you've been waiting for.
See you again....
Sarangeui bulsachak (2019)
Perfection in just 16 episodes
This has to be the most beautiful k-drama ever. I watched a lot of k-dramas and 70% of them are very good but this is just something else.
It really changes your life.
The story is good, the blend between romance and drama scenes is done perfectly. Also the funny soldiers are such a relief when the script gets too serious.
What is unique? The depiction of N. Korea which is done so well from the way people behave to the scenery and costumes. I come from a previous communist country and trust me,they did a great job and nothing was exagerated. My parents used to live this kind of life!
Another unique aspect is the chemistry between the 2 main characters which made them get married in real life. What more can i say?
Watch it now and tell others to watch it too.
The Crown: Ipatiev House (2022)
Qwestions without answer
Did the Qween found out what Boris was saying during that photoshoot? I think if she knew, she wouldn't have gone to visit Russia.
Why is Prince Philip the only perfect provider of DNA since all his kids bear the same gene?
Why is the qween jealous on Prince Philip's new friend? Isn't she the one who always supportred him with his active lifestyle?
If Qween Mary suffered so much why they didn't paid any homage that day to their dead relatives from Russia?
Why did Prince Philip waited all his life before going into an orthodox church and now he goes mad on the qween about this?
Beautiful episode but i need more information. It seems true that this turnes more and more into a soap opera.
The Crown: Annus Horribilis (2022)
Superb acting
Imelda is perfect in this episode. I could truly feel the pain the qween was going through even though it was well hidden by royal standards. I didn't quite like the choice for Prince Andrew as it was in my opinion a bit too childish. Princess Ann and Princess Margaret,2 powerful woman dealing with the absurdity of 'the system'. For Margaret it was too late since when she was young it was imperative to obey the royal laws but for Ann the tides have changed and she can now move on with her own choices. It seems like the outside world invades the palace...hence the fire and the royal system will no longer be a power to medle with people's lives.
The Crown: Mou Mou (2022)
My favorite episode this season
How beautiful was Mohamed portreyd!! I adored every scene of this. The monarchy took a step back again by beign judgemental and unfair, exept Diana,of course. Mr. Mohamed,a self-made king, althrough he was judgemental at first with Sydney and selfhis with his son shows humbleness and kindness with the first and respect and flexibility with the second. Mr. Mohamed is learning constantly,he is not fixed in his beliefs and this is why he wins against the qween in people's eyes.
Diana gets along with him because she also has all those qualities...good people qualities!
This episode just saved this season for me.
Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities (2022)
Greed everywhere- Major Spoilers
So all the episodes besides the last one revolve around the idea of greed. Let me explain a bit:
First we have the greedy lot 36 guy who doesn't let that nice lady get her pictures back and he ends up killed.
On the second episode we have the greedy grave thief who ends up dead underground.
On the third we have a greedy coroner who feels the urge to run after the first autopsy but still wants to examine all the bodies and ends up killed by the alien.
On the 4th episode we have a woman that wants to be a bimbo and out of greediness she uses too much lotion and she kills her husband to surpass society standards.
On the 5th episode we have a proud painter who gets a bit jelous of his collegue from art school. The outcome is that he becomes obsessed with his paintings, dellusional and...greedy of course. He wants the whole attention of the art comitee on his work and work critique and he hates his friend's comeback.
On the 6th episode we have a twin brother who wants to connect with his dead twin sister but after he sees her and talks to her he wants to bring her back to life because of...you guessed, greed. Not beign contempt with only the connection and wanting more and more for her to live makes the twin brother cross path with a powerful witch and loose his life in the end.
The 7th episode is the peak of greediness. We see a mogul having everything you can possibly imagine while still being unhappy and on the hunt for new experiences..hence the alien stone he managed to buy. The only people that survive are the only ones who are not greedy...the music producer tries to dodge all the temptation and thinks he is not good enough to be around those people and the astrophisician is trying the temptations out of curiosity and naivity. The book writer and the guru are too conceited and the doctor is also too self infatuated.
The last episode is my favorite because it's a classic ghost story. It has 0 casualities and it's the only happy ending one. It is about selflessnes. It is an antagonism to all the other episodes. This woman here lets all her passion, work, husband and grief behind to help 2 unknown ghosts and therefore securing her peaceful life after doing so.
Breaking Bad: Abiquiu (2010)
The irony
It's just a bit ironic how Hank's recovery treatments are paid with drug industry money. The same industry he swore to defeat by all means being in the DEA. This just reminds us that we should all be humble because you never know who/what is going to help you when you need!
Downton Abbey (2019)
A perfect happy end
Stunning visuals all over! A classy atmosphere that transports you right at Highclere Castle. Maggie Smith is the cherry on top of the beautiful movie that was made to close all stories that ended abruptley during the series. A lot of people wanted more action or another twist of events but I personally love that they kept the original line, slow paced, quality oriented and they just closed the series..they didn't started another chapter that woud have probabily made us all want more. A big 10 from me! Go and see the movie if you've seen the series. If not then...it won't make much sense but you will still love the aristocratic life from the 20s!
