Street Outlaws (2013– )

What happened?!!
3 December 2018
As a former female street racer, I used to LOVE this show! The original premise was great and pretty darn realistic! But somewhere along the line, big Chief turned into an egotistical a-hole, Asian & Farmtruck became a joke, and the whole premise overall just went downhill for me. I prefer the Memphis edition these days....

Garage Rehab (2017– )

An hour-long Infomercial...
3 December 2018
Season 1 is entertaining, highly scripted, with unrealistic deadlines. In my opinion, this show is just another way to build and market RR's growing empire. He's a smart businessman! Would be interested in knowing how much of this "reality show" is actually real? It's fun to watch regardless.

Edit to add: Season 2 is basically an hour-long, sponsor-based, infomercial. The rehab layouts are completely unrealistic and non-functional. The design elements - like company logos, color combinations, etc.... all look the same now. Really disappointing.

Entertaining, but not "reality"
3 December 2018
Richard Rawlings is a marketing genius and smart businessman, but that's the only real part about this reality show. It's certainly entertaining, but the unrealistic deadlines and lipstick-on-a-pig tactics, don't exactly lend itself to actual high-end, quality-based builds. It's a highly scripted show created entirely for entertainment purposes, and not a real business that existed beforehand. Great fun for car enthusiasts, and nice projects for publicity sake, but I personally prefer shows that are a little more reality-based.

Kindig the talent!

As an automotive professional in the real world, it's really easy to identify who's the real deal on these car shows and who isn't. Unfortunately, a lot of these shows are all scripted with gimmicks and it gets old real fast. But this particular business and show is legit. By far some of the most talented fabricators out there. They're entertaining and do amazing work, but lately they seem to be spending more time on "entertaining" and a little less time showing the actual work they're performing on the cars. Overall, it's one of the better and most realist car shows on TV right now.

Entertaining

With all the cars shows saturating TV, it's nice to watch a show without outlandish gimmicks or cast members trying to pretend to be something they're not. Joe has amazing vision, his crew is talented, and the projects they turn out are tastefully done. And as a woman in the automotive industry myself, I'm happy to see his wife Amanda involved. Overall good show. Love watching the bloopers and outtakes.
