The Order: New World Order, Part 2 (2020)
The wicked witch is dead! Now let her stay dead.
The character Alyssa really Took a turn for the worse in what has been a far better season. Best of all, the writers killed her off in the finale. Now for the love of god, let her stay dead... do NOT resurrect her next season. Lilith is back, finally. And the Gabrielle is coming along nicely as a part of the inner circle. A pretty good finale to a much improved season 2.
The Order (2019)
It's better than I expected
"The magicians" meets "Teen wolf".
That is basically the gist of it.
It's better than I thought it was going to be.
Guess it being made by Netflix, didn't give me any great expectations...
The four heroes (the knights) are all really good characters, with the writers having given them some decent humor. Some scenes are a little cringeworthy, and some a little bland, but is an OK show.
All American (2018)
It's a good start
After binging the first season, and some of the second.
I can see why people might not like it. It is first and foremost a commentary on south Crenshaw, growing up in the hood and feeling like you don't belong. As well as trying to escape your circumstances, while not dismissing your past or leaving people behind.
Secondly it's a football show, and you might be put off if you have no interest in football.
However, there is more than enough storylines and focus points in this show to be enjoyable to most people.
You might notice I gave a 6/10, which in my opinion is above average.
I do have some problems with the show that keeps it from being amazing.
It is a little cliché, it is driven more by short storylines than an overarching plot. Which can be entertaining, but also makes it harder for me to stay interested over time. It might be a show I'll enjoy binging in its entirety. But I can't see myself revisiting for every new season.
Living with Yourself (2019)
Paul Rudd is great, however...
The show didn't do it for me.
Now, Paul Rudd is amazing as always, and truly shows his acting skills and range in this series
If anyone else had his role, this might have ended up as a 1/10 for me.
Titans (2018)
It has potential
The series is good, it is. There are some awkward moments, some that are to drawn out. But for the most part it is interesting and exciting.
The casting was way better than I expected from the trailers, and they don't rush the story, which I appreciate, but it can be a bit slow at times, especially in the first few episodes.
There is some really good character development for Dick, Hank and Dawn, but not a lot on others like Garfield and Kory. There is still a lot of story to tell, so let's hope they pick up the pace a little bit.
Kampen om tungtvannet (2015)
Probably the best Norwegian TV series there has ever been
For us Scandinavians there is a lot of familiar faces in the cast. They really brought the big guns for this one. Casting is great, acting is superb and we all in all get the same from this series as we got from Max Manus, maybe even more.
It's based upon what actually happened, with some artistic freedoms of course. But largely sticks to the story.
If you can somewhat understand Norwegian or enjoy foreign cinema/tv series (not in english), you should definitely give this a try.
Peaky Blinders (2013)
The best there ever was
I gave GOT a chance, I gave Narcos a chance, I breaking bad a chance. But no other show comes close to this. Peaky blinders is IMO the best show there ever has been.
Daybreak: FWASH-BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! (2019)
Could have done a lot better
The payoff we had been waiting for doesn't actually happen, instead they decide to make sam's character even worse than she already was. The fight and conclusions end up being kinda cringe. Not sure this show will last that long...
Daybreak (2019)
It's hit or miss
The premise of the series is interesting, the plot is kind of cliché, there is a lot of stereotype -over the top - mixed with some classic - high-school characters.
It's a parody of mad max, zombieland and Every high-school drama series. With a commentary on todays teenage generation (which of course get's dragged to the extreme).
Some of the characters are developed pretty well like Wesley, KJ, angelica and the golf club.
While others are horrific, like Sam, mona lisa and hoyles.
But hey, it still is somewhat interesting...
Give it a try past the first 20 minutes and you might like it or might hate it, but at least you've tried.
The Righteous Gemstones (2019)
It's an acquired taste, but you might just love it
In the moment of Writing this, only 3 episodes have been released. And I'm already hooked. The casting is amazing, and the writing has been excellent.
I can see how some might not share the same humor or take offense.
But come on, it's a comedy.
Don't take yourself so seriously, this show certainly doesn't.
I would recommend to give it a try.
If it's not for you, then it's not for you.
Altered Carbon (2018)
This is going to be hard to follow up...
I would strongly suggest that you watch season 1 before you reed this.
Ok, so my main concern. How the hell is anyone else going to be able to play Takeshi Kovacs after the performance Joel Kinnaman gave?
Constant change of characters, especially the main character usualy don't Go very well...
and I'm afraid that will be the outcome here as well.
It seems as if the producers/writers want to go for a James Bond premis, where you can change pretty much everything for each new actor that takes the role. As far as I know, pretty much NO actors from season 1 will be joining the season 2 cast. (Although, to be fair, there are not that many who have been confirmed yet anyway)
Season 1 was AMAZING, but the way they have set things up, Im afraid to become committed to this series. Of course I will give the new cast a chance, and wish good luck to Anthony Mackie! He'S going to need it...
After watching some of season 2:
As you can guess, everything above is in review of season 1. Which I gave a 10/10...
Season 2 however... 1/10. The show is dead, It absolutely SUCKS! And my interest for the world has died with it.
Scorpion (2014)
Renewed yet?
So... that ending...
If this don't get renewed, then the show is kinda ruined. If it is renewed, then there will be a lot of explaining and EQ monologue recycling. So in conclusion... it might actually serve the memory of the series better if they just act like the last half of the 4th season never happened and never renewed this again. Simply because it will only make it worse...
