Run Sweetheart Run (2020)
Awesome
Great movie! The low rated reviews are guys who don't like uplifting women empowerment movies. This movie puts a twist on the world's violence and control it tries to put on women. It puts the form of of the violence and crimes against women into one evil form. It starts off with happy hopeful scenes, and then it quickly goes right into what the heck happened scenes. Chere is set up on a business dinner that turns into a date with the perfect guy. This perfect charming, and rich guy turns out to be a monster. Literally. She's forced to play a game of catch me if you can by this monster, and who ever tries to help her or get in his way gets murdered. He hunts her down by the scent of her blood. She finds out that her boss set her up along with many other women. Her boss's wife tells her how the monster is tracking her to help her and warns her about going home. I will not reveal all the details to this movie, but it's a good watch. It's not a women hate men type feminist movie, it's an crimes against women movie that they put into one body and gives a face to it. It also gives reasons why some men look the other way, and it's simply because evil has control over their minds. It also shows there are men who are against it and will risk their lives to save women. Basically, not ALL men are evil. I like the monster movie twist on here without it actually showing a monster. The monster is in human form. When he do change to show what he is, it doesn't actually show it. It makes the movie just that more awesome. I recommend watching it. It's just fun. Great actors.
Cowboy Bebop (2021)
Wow ... Can't believe they cancelled this
This live action series was awesome! I can't believe they cancelled it over some early low reviews. This series was almost exactly shot by shot of the anime, but it had it's own short twists in it for live action. There's no way the people that rated this series in the beginning ever saw the anime, and I don't think they actually watched this series. I saw a bunch of comments about why they made Jet Black character black 😑.... A big red flag was the majority of the reviews were put out during 1st premier. Look, if you like the anime, you will like this series. Simple. It's shot for shot. The characters act the exact same as the anime characters, and they look very similar to each character. I loved it, and I'm sad to see that it was cancelled before the real fans of the anime actually were able to watch it.
Resident Evil (2022)
Another good series cancelled
This series was actually really good. It had it's cheesy moments, but it was a unique take on the Raccoon City universe. I have read all the negative reviews, and they don't really say WHY it's so bad to them. It seems like another series cancelled due to the hate of a lead black character. Series like this are never given a real chance. I really wanted to know where they were going with this. It's was about a young female scientist who spent her life trying to correct what her father did. Her father was a scientist that specialized in trying to find a cure for the T-Virus. A virus created by accident when a scientist tried to create a miracle drug to market in big Pharma, but it caused a dangerous mutation. The daughter ended up making the same mistakes as her father. She was trying to make the world a better place, but instead made things worse.
Intrusion (2021)
Good Movie
I don't know what these people are talking about in these bad reviews. This movie is good, not the best, but good. Its fast pace. It's not one of those thrillers that take the entire movie to get to the point. I hear people complaining about they saw the plot a mile away, that there were jump scares, and that the plot is obvious. There are no jump scares. This movie is a basic thriller. It's not trying to fool you because it's not a psychological thriller. Its just simply made to entertain, like all movies. This is another movie wrongfully rated on IMDB. It's meant to be a realistic thriller about people who have a hidden dark side, but can play so normal in society. I love how straight to the point this is. This movie doesn't drag out any suspicions. I like this movie, and if you like a basic thriller, you will too.
Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020)
Meehhh
In regards to the comments saying this is a movie about hating men, and women empowerment, go actually read the comics. This movie is in relation to the comic series Harley Quinn: The Rebirth when she officially ends things with the Joker. The movie isn't about men being bad guys and women being stronger and smarter, its about Harley Quinn finding herself, her voice, her path. For the first time, she isn't making decisions based on if it makes Mistah J (Joker) happy. With all that said, this movie falls flat with the script. The actors are great, but the movie seems rushed and compressed. The characters are only introduced not established. It was like they just threw this together so that it will come out right after Suicide Squad, and it did. The movie has a lot of dead boring spots. I gave it 7 stars for the actors ability to make this movie watchable.
The Little Things (2021)
Great Movie
This movie was a thriller with a great story line and great actors. This is a serial killer movie that keeps you on your toes without the unnecessary gore, and leaves you wondering in a good way at the end.
Vanquish (2021)
Eeeehhhh
I read the reviews, and decided to watch this movie anyway. Well, first, i think that this movie looks and feels to be so low budget. I think it's a complete rewrite because of the story line. Explanation: there are huge story lines missing. Example: the explanation of the dead brother of Ruby Rose's character, the story behind Morgan Freeman's character, what Ruby Rose's character did with her brother to make her an enemy to all the crime bosses, what illness her daughter has, and how she met Morgan Freeman's character. The actors seem to have not been interested the entire movie, and I'm sure it may be because the script they signed contracts for was completely different and possibly better than the pandemic rewrite. It just seems like a forced movie. Its like you came into the movie theater in the middle of the movie. With that said, the videography is horrible, the locations are cheap, and you are left confused to why all of this even started or happened. I think the actors and actresses did their best with what was given, but the delivery of their lines makes you think that they didn't want to do the movie. Especially Morgan Freeman's character. The action scenes are just 30 different angles switched back and forth, the outdoor scenes are fake and cheap. The indooor shots seem as if they are sneaking and secretly trying to shoot a movie. Ruby Rose's shooting scenes are so fake, and the bike riding scenes are obviously green screen backgrounds for most of it. The bike chasing scenes aren't edited, so you can see that she isn't riding fast at all. The scenes where she gets shot at on her bike are not edited, so it looks as though they are purposely shooting at objects beside her. Her evasive riding is delayed, and makes the chase/shooting scene look even worse. Really, the entire movie seems unedited. It's horrible. I just had to see it for myself. Be aware though, there are B movies and then two letters below that is this movie.
First Girl I Loved (2016)
It wasn't what I expected..
I see a lot of negative reviews because it didn't have a cliche' ending, and saying it wasn't a coming of age lesbian high school story. I believe this movie is a very realistic coming of age lesbian story. When I was in highschool, it wasn't something you could come out with and be. There were a lot of girls who were gay, but would hide it. When they would get exposed, they would pull the "I was drunk" "It was forced" card. I think this movie's story line is a great depiction of coming out. I believe there was a happy ending and a great message at the end. Anne was falsely accused by Sasha, sexually assaulted and bullied by her best friend Cliff for being gay. She was happy at the end because after telling a complete stranger that she was gay, she felt a huge weight off her chest and she can be who she truly is. This movie get 5 stars because they rushed the story. They focused on small moments instead of the characters. They spend more time on the friend Cliff (straight guy) instead of what the story line is about....lesbians. By the time this movie gets to the point, you're annoyed at how they made light of everything, and sympathized with the guy who sexually assaulted and bullied the main character Anne. This movie had a lot of potential, but i believe the problems are with directing.
Antebellum (2020)
Awesome
This is an awesome movie! It makes you really wonder with all the racism in America, if this is really secretly going on somewhere. I loved the attention to detail and the actors and actresses in this film. Janelle Monae played the heck out of her character. I really felt what she was going through. The story was well written. It was extremely realistic. Don't pay attention to the negative reviews. I honestly think they are by racist individuals who angry about what the film is about. Watch it for yourself. I was glued to it from beginning to end.
The Lighthouse (2019)
Horrible
I really think people gave it such a high rating because of the actors in it. I love artistic films, even the horror types. This. Was just a mess. It was so dull and had so much potential.
Galveston (2018)
Not an action drama. Just drama
This movie was incredibly good. The actors brought so much to the characters in this film. Its a heartbreaking drama about a man and a young woman who both were on the wrong path in life, and were hopeful of better things. You will enjoy this movie as long as you go into it expecting drama and not action. I think the bad labelling of movie genres causes good films to not get a fare chance. This movie has a great plot, story line and acting. You really get emotionally involved.
Ghost in the Shell (2017)
Where do I start?
Im a huge fan of Ghost in the shell movie and anime series. I won't ramble about crap, so going to jump right into it. First, Scarlett Johansson would have been great if she actually watched and studied the anime. It was like she read in the script that the Major was an android, so she thought she had to act like robocop .. The Major has a very sensual personality, sexual. They had the scenery looking awesome, but between Scarlett Johansson's portrayal of the Major and the garbage story line. They could have done so much with this. I really just think there was no homework done before making this movie.
