The Twilight Zone (2019)
This isn't Rod Serling. But I enjoyed watching
There is a lot of negativity in these reviews. I think it is a show with a bit of growing pains, however the series does pay tribute to the original series. I enjoyed watching, however I did not expect the episodes to be the best and brightest. This is a reboot, and unfortunately Rod Serling is not writing episodes for it. That being said, i think that the show did its best to do justice to the original vision and, if anything, grew and spoke about the older series.
The Handmaid's Tale (2017)
Good show, but stalls a bit after season 1
I really enjoy watching this series. Production and acting are very good. However, in the new episodes of season 3, things seem to move slowly, and the actors spend half the episode staring at each other or into the camera.
The series is still chilling. The acting, production, and writing is pretty good. Just moves a bit slow at times.
Updated review after episode 4 of season 3, it's just frustrating. Nothing happens.
Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie (2017)
Excellent, and reminiscent of the series
I've recently rewatched the entire Hey Arnold series, and I've seen obvious and subtle nods to the series.
My favorite was the overall theme of Arnold's headshape, and how it ties into the movie. It reminded me of the episode where Arnold turns into a greaser to fit his head through a window lol.
I've watched this movie for the second time and have enjoyed it immensely. I grew up with the series, and I was so excited to watch this movie when it came out. It was worth a revisit. A true nostalgic treasure.
Historical Roasts (2019)
Seems to be a 50-50 split. I enjoyed this.
I liked this series! A lot of other reviews are not positive, but there may be an episode that you enjoy. Give it an episode and see if you do.
Minding the Gap (2018)
Gripping, emotional, honest, real
I registered on the site to write this because I was hungover on a Sunday and looking for skateboarding videos/docs online. I used to skate and cannot now due to a back injury.
I expected something featuring tricks and skate videos, however I received an extremely emotional reaction to a brilliant documentary about real people living through very real issues I have had experienced. The film was made brilliantly and I have highly recommended this to my friends. People who skate and those who don't.
A very well done piece. I grew up in the Midwest and knew the struggle of "when is the sidewalk good for skating" with the cabin fever of just wanting to pop an ollie outside.
Brilliant. Highly recommended, especially for anyone that broke out on a skateboard (bike, roller blades, etc) just to get outside when young. This doc is terrificly an underdog.
