- Juca, a black kid, sees his friends and his mother being hit by his stepfather, without being able to do anything against it, but when he knows that he is the great-grandson of João Cândido, the leader of the sailors rebellion against the chibata hits adopted by Brazilian Navy till 1910, he takes an extreme attitude towards changing the course of his life.
- Nine people, among them the nurse who took care of Assis Chateaubriand, the man who brought television to Brazil in 1950, and his accountant, talk - with exclusivity - about the media mogul, his adventures to buy newspapers, radio stations, and the first TV station, his adventures with women, his struggle against the thrombosis he suffered in 1960, and how he kept governing his news empire, during the last eight years of his life.
- After one century since the "Revolt against the Lash" (Revolta da Chibata) took place, a few big celebrations were made: the launch of a Petrol Ship (larger than the Minas Geraes battleship where the revolt started) named "João Cândido", the name of the leader of the revolt; a Seminar to discuss the Chibata among Brazilian and North American researchers on the theme; a statue inaugurated by the president of Brazil besides the "Ilhas das Cobras" Navy prison, where João Cândido was unfairly put in jail. The filmmaker interviews the son and daughter of the leader, two admirals, a sailor who retired from Navy just one month before the interview, many other sailors and historians, illustrating all with pictures, clips, animation, to give a comprehensive view of the conflict existing there in 1910 and how much of it remains alive nowadays.
