Faithful Literary Adaptations That Are Also Great Films
Items 1-13 are incredibly faithful to the source material and one can enjoy both of them on their own terms without missing anything regarding character, plot, dialogue and even descriptions of art design and clothing straight from the book.
Items 14-27 are mostly faithful, with one or two important changes (story trimming, a happier ending, some characters missing or combined).
Items 28-33 are close to the stories, but with several name changes, additional situations and tweaks in the narrative. Even though they are not as faithful to the source material as items 1-11, the changes are not too radical and they don't dilute the essence of the original work.
