Luke Perry was an American actor, primarily remembered as a teen idol throughout the 1990s and the early 2000s. Perry was born in Mansfield, Ohio in 1966. Mansfield was known at the time as a center for the home appliances and stove manufacturing industries. The city's largest employer used to be the Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
Perry's parents were the steelworker Coy Luther Perry Jr. (1944-1980) and his wife Ann. Perry's parents divorced in 1972, when he was 6-years-old. Ann gained custody over her children, and later married construction worker Steve Bennett. Luke was mostly raised by his mother and stepfather, and did not have a close relationship with his biological father. Coy Perry suffered a heart attack in 1980 and died, when Luke was 14-years-old. Luke attended his funeral.
Perry was mostly raised in the village of Fredericktown, Ohio, and attended the Fredericktown High School. In his high school years, Perry served in the role of the school mascot, the "Freddie Bird".
In 1984, the 18-year-old Perry moved to Los Angeles, with the intention of becoming a professional actor. For several years, Perry kept auditioning for various roles without ever being hired. He supported himself financially by working at odd jobs, and serving as an extra for music videos. His most notable role in this period was in the 1986 music video for the song "Be Chrool to Your Scuel" (1985) by the heavy metal band "Twisted Sister".
Perry's first successful audition landed him the role of a recurring character in the soap opera Loving (1983) (1983-1995). From 1987 to 1988, he played the character of Ned Bates. In Perry's own words: "Ned was a dirt-poor mechanic from Tennessee who always got taken advantage of".
Perry next received a recurring role in another soap opera, Another World (1964) (1964-1999). From 1988 to 1989, he played the character of Kenny, the manager of aspiring model and actress Josie Watt (played by Alexandra Wilson).
In 1990, Perry landed the most significant role of his career, depicting the character of Dylan McKay in the teen drama Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990) (1990-2000). He played the character for a total of 199 episodes. Dylan was the teenage rebel son of business tycoon Jack McKay and hippie ex-wife Iris McKay. He started the series as a loner, but he offered help to nerdy schoolmate Scott Scanlon (played by Douglas Emerson) against the local bullies. This act of bravery gained him new friends and the romantic attention of Brenda Walsh (played by Shannen Doherty).
Perry's success in his new role gained him a huge following among teenage girls, and guaranteed that he would receive more job offers. His first starring role in a film was the drama Terminal Bliss (1990) (1992), where he played the self-destructive rich kid John Hunter. The film was a box-office flop.
Perry had a more memorable role in the horror comedy film Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992), as the character Oliver Pike. Pike was a hard-drinking slacker youth in Los Angeles, and had a hostile relationship with high school girl Buffy Summers (played by Kristy Swanson). After Pike's best friend gets turned into a vampire, Pike assists Buffy in her battles with the vampire lord Lothos (played by Rutger Hauer) and his subordinate vampires. Pike is Buffy's sidekick and main love interest in the film, and has appeared in various adaptations, though not in the spin-off television series.
Perry had his first voice acting role in the episode, Krusty Gets Kancelled (1993) of the animated sitcom The Simpsons (1989). He played a parody version of himself as a sidekick of the character Krusty the Clown in a show-within-the-show. Perry had more voice acting roles in other animated television series of this era. He played the Detroit-based crime lord Napoleon Brie in Biker Mice from Mars (1993) (1993-1996), the master ninja Sub-Zero in Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm (1995) (1996), Bruce Banner's best friend and sidekick Rick Jones in The Incredible Hulk (1996) (1996-1997), and Nicky Little's boyfriend Stewart Waldinger in Pepper Ann (1997) (1997-2000).
In live-action films, Perry played the starring role of professional bull-rider Lane Frost (1963-1989) in the biographical drama 8 Seconds (1994). He played a version of himself in the Italian comedy film Vacanze di Natale '95 (1995) ("Christmas Vacation '95", 1995), where he is the love interest of infatuated teenager Marta Colombo (played by Cristiana Capotondi). Perry played the police officer and bank robber Chris Anderson in the crime drama Normal Life (1996), while his wife and partner-in-crime Pam Anderson was played by Ashley Judd. He played the suicidal character Johnny in the comedy-drama American Strays (1996), which features the character hiring a professional hit-man to provide him with an assisted suicide.
In 1997, Perry played a small role in the science fiction film The Fifth Element (1997). In a scene set in 1914, Perry plays the assistant archaeologist Billy Masterson. Masterson sees his mentor being knocked out by Mondoshawan aliens, and reacts by shooting one of the aliens. Masterson's fate is left uncertain in the film, though the novelization features him as the victim of a poisoning plot.
In the late 1990s, Perry appeared frequently in television films and various direct-to-video films. He had guest roles in several television series, but mostly playing one-shot characters. Following the end of Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990) in 2000, his first major role was the recurring character Jeremiah Cloutier in the crime-drama Oz (1997) (1997-2003). Introduced in 2001 episodes of the series, Jeremiah was an Evangelical preacher who was imprisoned for embezzling funds from his church. He used his charisma and preaching skills to convert fellow prisoners to Evangelical Christianity, He was eventually assassinated by his own convert Timmy Kirk (Sean Dugan) and several of Kirk's friends, after Jeremiah denounced Kirk using Christianity as an excuse to murder people.
Perry next gained a starring role in the post-apocalyptic series Jeremiah (2002) (2002-2004). The series is set c. 2021, 15 years after a plague killed nearly everyone over the age of thirteen. Most of the adult characters of the show were children at that time, and survived the event. Now they are troubled adults, trying to survive in a harsh world. Perry's character Jeremiah is a wanderer who finds himself recruited into a Colorado-based secretive organization. He fights a war against a West Virginia-based organization which seeks to either conquer or wipe out all remaining outposts of humanity. The series lasted two seasons. A third season was planned, but plans for it were aborted due to disagreements between the production companies co-financing the series.
Perry returned to playing mostly guest star roles in television. In 2006, he was cast as one of the main characters in the short-lived drama series Windfall (2006). Only 13 episodes were produced, as the series failed to find an audience and one of the show's co-creators had left before the season's completion.
In 2007, Perry played businessman Linc Stark in the surf-themed series John from Cincinnati (2007). Despite relatively high ratings, the series only lasted for one season.
In the late 2000s, Perry played guest roles in police procedural a series: the rapist Noah Sibert in Trials (2008) and the cult leader Benjamin Cyrus in Minimal Loss (2008).
For much of the 2010s, Perry continued mostly appearing in guest roles and relatively obscure films. In 2015, a colonoscopy test revealed pre-cancerous growths in Perry's body, that could have developed into colorectal cancer. Perry received medical treatment, and became a spokesperson for campaigns requiring early testing for cancer.
In 2017, Perry returned to prominence in a live-action adaptation of a comic book series, Riverdale (2017) (2017-2019). It was an adaptation of Archie Comics' characters, but in a mystery series instead of their traditional comedy setting. Perry played Frederick "Fred" Andrews, Archie Andrews's father, depicted here as the owner of a successful construction company. Fred is depicted as a single father, as his wife Mary Andrews abandoned him and moved to Chicago. The series also depicts Fred as the ex-boyfriend of Hermione Gomez-Lodge (Veronica Lodge's mother).
On February 27, 2019, Perry suffered a massive ischemic stroke within his home in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles. He was hospitalized, but suffered a second stroke days later. He died on March 4, 2019, having never recovered from the two strokes. He was only 52 years old. His body was buried near his home in Vanleer, Tennessee, where he had bought a farm and the associated house in 1995, and spent time living there when not working on film or television projects.
Perry's will reportedly left his son Jack Perry (b. 1997) and daughter Sophie Perry (b. 2000) as the only heirs to his estate. The press noted that the will excludes Perry's mother, his stepfather, his siblings, his ex-wife, and his last fiancée from having inheritance claims, and there was some speculation on Perry's motivation for this decision. His net worth was estimated at over $10 million.- Amber McWilliams was born on 11 October 1975 in New Zealand. Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11, 1942 in Allahabad, British India (present-day Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India) to legendary poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan & Teji Bachchan. He also has a brother named Ajitabh. He completed his education from Uttar Pradesh and moved to Bombay to find work as a film star, in vain though, as film-makers preferred someone with a fairer skin, and he was not quite fair enough. But they did use one of his other assets, his deep baritone voice, which was used for narration and background commentary. He was successful in being cast in Saat Hindustani. He got his break in Bollywood after a letter of introduction from the then Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi, as he was a friend of her son, Rajiv Gandhi. This is how Bachchan made an entry in Bollywood, starting with Zanjeer, co-starred with his future wife Jaya Bhaduri, and since then there has been no looking back.
He married Jaya Bhaduri, an accomplished actress in her own right, and they had two children, Shweta and Abhishek. Shweta is married, lives a non-filmy life and has two children.
Being friends with Rajiv Gandhi, got him to decide to run for seat in the Indian National Congress (political party) from his home town but had to leave mid-term because of controversies, particularly after Rajiv and he were implicated in the now infamous "Bofors" case along with the U. K. based Hinduja Brothers.
After a four year break, he was back in the unsuccessful Mrityudaata (1997), a comeback which the actor wanted to forget. Critics written him off but his career was saved with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1998). But four flops in 1999 and incurring debt of over 90 crore rupees of his sinking company ABCL saw him at an all-time low. To make matters worse, after the defeat of the Congress party, Bachchan lost considerable political support, the opposition made him a target, and his credit rating deteriorated to such an extent that a leading nationalized bank, Canara Bank, sued him for outstanding loans. He did bounce back, presenting the Indian version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire called Kaun Banega Crorepati? (2000). After a series of hits with Mohabbatein (2000), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001) and Baghban (2003) and Khakee (2004), Bachchan is showing no signs of slowing down and proving the critics wrong once again.
Amitabh and Jaya were interested in getting their son Abhishek married to Karisma Kapoor, the daughter of Babita and Randhir Kapoor, they went through a formal engagement, but later broke it off.
The former Miss World and Bollywood actress, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek, were formally engaged on Sunday January 14, 2007, at the Bachchan residence in Juhu, Bombay, with the marriage taking place at the Bachchan residence on April 20, 2007.
On November 16, 2011, he became a Dada (paternal grandfather) when Aishwarya gave birth to a daughter in a Mumbai Hospital. He is already a Nana (maternal grandfather) to Navya and Agastye - Shweta's children.
He continues to be one of the busiest actors and singers in Bollywood as well as on TV, as can be seen from the commercials that he appears on, especially on Sahara One. Looks like there are no limits for this super-star and once the "Angry Young Man" of Bollywood.- Actor

Arthur Steven Lange grew up a child of a middle class family in Union, New Jersey. At Union High School, Lange excelled in baseball, becoming an All County third baseman. Working long afternoons with his loving contractor father, Artie developed a comical view of social classes, and his place in life as a barrel-chested Italian boy. After Artie completed high school, his father, who was a cable installer, fell off a roof and became a quadriplegic. Artie changed his college plans to be near his family, taking up odd jobs as a clerk, laborer and cab driver. After his fathers' death four years later, Artie quit his Port of Newark longshoreman's' job to play his first gig at New York's Improv in Hell's Kitchen. Gaining steadying success Artie pursued sketch comedy, helping to create the popular improvisation group, "Live On Tape". Doing improvisation landed Artie his major break. He was cast as an original member of Fox's Mad TV (1995) in 1995. Hollywood success would bring down the comic with substance abuse and a possession for cocaine arrest. Mad TV fired him in 1997. After rehab, depression and a 40-pound weight gain, Lange found himself out of work until Saturday Night Live (1975)comedian Norm MacDonald remembered him. Lange played MacDonald's sidekick in both Dirty Work (1998) and ABC's Norm (1999). As a guest during a promotional tour with MacDonald,Howard Stern first heard and liked Lange. Years before, Artie and his father listened daily to the Howard Stern Show. Artie joined the nationally syndicated The Howard Stern Radio Show (1998)in 2001, bringing impressions and an average guy prospective to the radio and E network shows. However, his troubled past re-emerged through his years on the Stern show and Artie had fights with various staff members and splits with the show on several occasions up until his suicide attempt in 2010 when he left the show for good. Artie spent 7 months in a rehab center in Florida and emerged stating that he was finally clean and sober. Artie returned to radio in 2011 when, along with his friend Nick DiPaolo, they inked 3-year deals for a nationally syndicated radio show on Fox Sports. Bill Randolph was born on 11 October 1953 in Detroit, Michigan, USA. He is an actor, known for Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981), Dressed to Kill (1980) and Double Negative (1985).- British-American actor, Bradley James, won his first role on the BBC pilot Dis/Connected. Show creators were so impressed with his work that they would go on to cast him as the young King Arthur in the hit show Merlin (2008) which aired on BBC & NBC. Of the eventual cast, James was the only cast member who the creators originally had in mind for the role to land the part. Merlin (2008) would go on to have huge global success and air in over 180 countries giving James a worldwide following.
James would fit in a role on the first season of CW show iZombie. His portrayal proved incredibly popular with fans, who voiced massive disappointment when he left the show. Show creator Rob Thomas later admitted that they had cast someone 'too good' for the role, citing a William Goldman story in which a young Susan Surandan is killed off midway through the 'Robert Redford' film 'The Great Waldo Pepper'_ leading to the audience never forgiving them. James however had already signed on for his next role so couldn't have continued on the series anyway.
It was in the A&E Omen-based series Damien (2016) that James would really shine in the title role. Producers had been struggling to find their leading man but said that the decision was made the second they saw Bradley. Show creator Glen Mazzara stated that Damien (2016) was the hardest role he ever created, given the complex nature of his journey and the history that came with the role, yet James brought the character to life in a way that nobody expected. "Hollywood legend has it that you never name a show after your lead character because very often those actors end up becoming difficult as time goes on. Bradley is not that guy. He is one of the kindest, most talented, hard-working actors I've ever had the pleasure of working with."
Although born in Devon, England, he moved to his father's homeland America at an early age. He would later return to England in his teenage years shortly before beginning his classical training at the Drama Centre London, stating that he had 'three of the most enjoyable years of his life' there. He became the next in line of the Drama Centre leading man conveyor belt that trained the likes of Colin Firth, Michael Fassbender, and Tom Hardy. It is said that he was signed by his agent when still in his first year at the school after showing her to her seat. He has suggested that 'there was a little more too it than that.'
He is a keen sportsman and it is said that he could have been a professional football player had he not chosen the acting route although he has played that down. He has had chance to show off his skills though by playing in many charity football and cricket matches.
Underworld co-star Theo James has hinted in interviews that Bradley is set to become the new lead of the Underworld film franchise following his own departure in the latest installment Underworld: Blood Wars (2016).
In 2017 James was cast as Giuliano de' Medici in Medici: The Magnificent (2018) alongside Daniel Sharman as Lorenzo de' Medici. In 2018 James was cast in the lead roll of American War hero Felix Sparks in the The Liberator (2020) Netflix's four-part World War II drama series based on the book by Alex Kershaw. This is the first project produced in Trioscope, a new enhanced hybrid technology that combines state-of-the-art CGI with live-action performance. - Actor

Caroline John was a classically trained actress who did some significant and prestigious stage work, but she is best remembered for one television role which she played for less than a year (and only four serials) - that of Dr. Elizabeth Shaw in Doctor Who (1963). Of the many satellites that have orbited the official incarnations of 'the Doctor' between 1963 and the present, John was arguably one of the brightest. Not only was she one of the most attractive of the companions but she also stood out for her resourcefulness and intelligence.
The daughter of an actor and a dancer, John was trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London before making her stage debut with the Royal Court Theatre. She then acted in repertory and had a three-and-a-half year stint with the National Theatre Company under the auspices of its artistic director Laurence Olivier, performing in such plays as "Othello", "The Master Builder" and (as Ophelia) in "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead". John joined Lambda in the late 1960s, touring through Italy, Yugoslavia and Romania with D.H. Lawrence's play "Daughter-in-Law".
Having submitted a glamorous modelling shot of herself to outgoing producers Peter Bryant and Derrick Sherwin, John successfully auditioned for the role of Dr. Liz Shaw and was first featured at the beginning of Season Seven in Spearhead from Space: Episode 1 (1970). Like her immediate predecessor, Zoe Heriot, who was an astrophysicist, her character was meant to be a super-intelligent character (the Brigadier famously describes her as being "an expert on meteorites, with degrees in medicine, physics and a dozen other subjects") who would help the new Doctor (Jon Pertwee) and also shared his moral principles. Her strong and independent personality contrasted markedly from the stereotype of the screaming, helpless scatter-brains the 20th century series is usually accused of having as companions. In a 1987 interview, John revealed that she was on occasion given leeway to ad lib if it helped to liven up a scene that didn't come off as originally written. However, script editor Terrance Dicks, new producer Barry Letts and Jon Pertwee all disliked the character of Liz Shaw, considering her too clever and grown-up to be relatable to the younger members of the audience. They also perceived it to be necessary to more fully explain the 'technobabble' to audiences. This required a suitably naïve character to ask the relevant questions. Consequently, John was dropped from the show at the end of the season in favour of Katy Manning's Jo Grant, a reversion to the show's earlier format. Terrance Dicks later commented that he thought John was actually too good an actress to play a companion to the Doctor. Although he'd written her out of the show, Barry Letts later cast John in his BBC version of The Hound of the Baskervilles (1982). John occasionally reprised her role of Liz Shaw for direct-to-video spin-offs, an audio series and for the seminal 1983 reunion special The Five Doctors (1983).
Post- Doctor Who (1963), she had a regular spot on Harry Enfield's Television Programme (1990) and guested in such shows as Poirot (1989), Silent Witness (1996) and Midsomer Murders (1997). She also maintained a steady flow of theatrical engagements and was latterly noted for her solo tour-de-force as Mildred Asher in "Nightingale", a play written by Lynn Redgrave, which ran at the New End Theatre in London and at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles in 2006.- Actress

Charles Shyer was born in Los Angeles, California, USA as Charles Richard Shyer. He is a director, producer and writer, known for Private Benjamin (1980), The Parent Trap (1998), Alfie (2004) and Father of the Bride (1991), Father of the Bride Part II (1995) and The Noel Diary (2022). He was previously married to Deborah Lynn, Nancy Meyers and Diana Ewing.- Dainty, brown-eyed 60s starlet, best known for being the third iteration of Gidget. She was born Annette Carol Sydes, one of four siblings, to high school English teacher Thomas Sydes and his wife Ruth (née Meadows). In her mid-teens, Carol made several TV commercials for diverse products, ranging from Frisky Cat Foods and Noxzema skin cleanser to Fritos corn chips. Though her father disapproved of her acting aspirations, Carol persisted and accidentally finagled a guest spot in the TV series Medic (1954) for which her older brother (Anthony Sydes) was auditioning. Cast in bit parts for her first two years in show biz, she appeared several times on the sitcom Leave It to Beaver (1957) (still credited as Carol Sydes) and then became a fixture on The New Loretta Young Show (1962) as one of the lead characters' seven children. Though the series was axed after just 26 episodes, Carol managed to get herself selected from among 500 other applicants by producer Jerry Bresler for the coveted role of diminutive surfing beach bunny Gidget for the feature film Gidget Goes to Rome (1963) (Deborah Walley, who had been Gidget's second screen incarnation, had become unavailable, due to matrimony and impending motherhood). Signed to a seven-year contract by Columbia at a respectable starting salary of $300 per week, Carol underwent the usual studio publicity campaign, had her hair colour changed to blonde and her name to the sweeter-sounding Cindy Carol.
She had just one significant moment on the big screen, as Pandora Leaf, the crafty 18-year old daughter of a college professor (James Stewart) in the family comedy Dear Brigitte (1965). Most of the plaudits in the junior acting stakes went to Bill Mumy, as Pandora's mathematically gifted brother. Carol's swansong was a recurring role on the daytime soap Never Too Young (1965), which was aimed at the teenage market. She retired from acting in 1966, and, as Carol Annette Connelly, devoted herself to raising a family. Her second husband, the actor Christopher Connelly, died from lung cancer in December 1988, aged just 47. - Cinthia Fernández is known for Ciega a citas (2009), Todos contra Juan (2008) and Gran Hermano Famosos (2007). From his early beginnings in the UK hit comedy The Liver Birds (1969), he became a household name overnight playing the Jersey detective Jim Bergerac. The series, Bergerac (1981), was a huge hit in Britain and was exported to many countries across the world including France, Spain, and Greece, gaining him thousands of fans.
His newfound fame as Bergerac gave him almost film-star-like fame and fortune, not to mention thousands of female admirers!
Despite Bergerac (1981) being mothballed in the early 1990s, the series still has a considerable fan base and lingering popularity abroad, especially in Jersey, where images of John Nettles are still used for advertising tourist attractions and other services on the island.
Nettles' polished Shakesperean performances have won him critical acclaim and many consider him to rival fellow British stalwarts of theatre such as Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen.
Oddly enough, however, he has never really ventured onto the big screen and has seemed happy to stick to stage and television throughout his successful career.
Most recently he has enjoyed continued success playing the straightforward DCI Tom Barnaby in ITV's Midsomer Murders (1997). He is on record as wanting to create a TV detective without any of the usual tics, and consequently Tom Barnaby is a happy family man who just happens to live in the most murderous part of an otherwise stereotypical idyllic English countryside.- Camera and Electrical Department

Society dance band leader of the 1920's and 30's, who started as a 12-year old teenager playing the violin with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He put together his own band in 1919 and began a prolific recording career with Columbia two years later. Reisman was able to secure residency at the Egyptian Room of the Hotel Brunswick until 1929, when he moved the organisation from Boston to New York's Central Park Casino. There the band made frequent national radio broadcasts and achieved considerable commercial success without ever playing particularly 'hot' jazz. His sponsored radio shows included 'The Lucky Strike Hit Parade' and 'RKO Theatre of the Air', heralded by his theme song "What Is This Thing Called Love?".
Reisman was noticeably canny in recognising talent, both in performance and in composition. He featured hits by the great composers of the day, including Cole Porter , Con Conrad ("The Continental") and Irving Berlin. He discovered future stars Eddy Duchin, Max Kaminsky and Nat Brandwynne. His vocalists included Lee Wiley, Fred Astaire and Anita Boyer. He gave another unknown, Dinah Shore a head start in 1939, letting her perform in front of the band at the Strand Theatre in 1939.
At the peak of his popularity, the Reisman Orchestra performed regularly at the Waldorf-Astoria and other swank venues frequented by the New York elite. They toured Europe in 1937, featuring at the Paris International Exposition. Reisman had various recording contracts during the 1930's with Vocalion, Brunswick and Victor and claimed in later years to have made more records than any other contemporary bandleader.- Leslie Landon was born on 11 October 1962 in Los Angeles, California, USA. She attended business school, after graduating from which she turned to acting. Pulver quickly received his first major roles in the theater. In 1949 she celebrated her film debut in "Swiss Tour" alongside Simone Signoret, Cornel Wilde and Heinrich Gretler. In 1954 the actress made her breakthrough with the Swiss production "Uli, the Knecht". This success was followed in 1955 by the sequel film "Uli, the Tenant". In the same year she played in "I often think of Piroschka", which also made her popular in Germany. This film was directed by Kurt Hoffmann. From 1957 Hoffmann also directed Pulver's trilogy of the so-called Spessart films: These included "Das Wirtshaus im Spessart" (1957), for which she received the silver film ribbon as best actress, "Das Spukschloss im Spessart" (1960) and "Magnificent Times in the Spessart" (1967). In 1957, Pulver took part in her first film adaptation of a Thomas Mann novel in "Confessions of the Imposter Felix Krull" alongside Horst Buchholz.
In 1959 she appeared in front of the camera alongside Nadja Tiller for the film adaptation of Mann's novel "The Buddenbrooks". The first highlight in Pulver's career was the 1960 film "The Glass of Water" by Helmut Käutner, in which she played alongside Gustav Gründgens. Pulver now became, alongside Maria Schell, one of the most popular actresses in German post-war films. In 1960 she presented one of her brilliant roles alongside Curd Jürgens in "Gustav Adolf's Page". In 1961, Pulver starred in the famous Hollywood film "One, Two, Three!" by Billy Wilder. In the same year she married the actor Helmut Schmid. She also appeared in front of the camera for "The Young General" and "Lafayette". Pulver also gained great audience sympathy for her collaboration with the German film star Heinz Rühmann, alongside whom she appeared in the humorous films "Dr. med. Hiob Prätorius" and "Hocus Pocus or: How do I make my husband disappear...?" in 1965. was to be seen. The actress has also appeared in successful roles in films and on the theater stage in international productions.
She received a Golden Globe nomination in 1963 for her role in "State Affairs." However, she failed to achieve a breakthrough in America. She couldn't accept the offer to play the lead role alongside Charlton Heston in "El Cid". The role was successfully cast with Sophia Loren. In the 1970s, Pulver appeared in films such as "Monika and the Sixteen-Year-Olds" and "I Think My Hat is Burning." She also starred in series such as "Hooper's Last Hunt" and "The Old Man: A Suitcase". One of her most popular jobs of these years, however, was hosting the children's show "Sesame Street". The actress's family life was overshadowed by tragic events: her daughter committed suicide in 1989 and her husband died in 1992 after 31 years of marriage. In 1995, Pulver took on another film role in "Everything Lies". In the same year she presented her last major performance in the Hera Lind novel adaptation "Das Superweib" alongside Veronica Ferres and Heiner Lauterbach.
In 1998, Pulver published her memoirs under the title "Stay a little longer". The sequel to her autobiography followed in 2001 under the title "... if you still laugh. Diary of my life". Lowell Sherman was one of the early cinema's first major stars who successfully made the transition from actor to director. Born in either 1885 or 1888, his parents were John Wm. Sherman, a theatrical producer (1855-1924), and Julia Gray Sherman, an actress and daughter of actress Kate Gray.
In 1905 Lowell embarked on his first real stage work in New York and his first film work took place in 1914. From the start, he proved to be a respected actor who played the roles of the playboy and villain very well. He directed early films for Greta Garbo and Katharine Hepburn, married three times and attended the 1921 party at the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco that scandalously ended the career of Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle. Sherman died of pneumonia in December 1934.- Luis Firpo was billed as "The Wild Bull of the Pampas." A giant of a man, with enormous fists, Firpo became the South American Heavyweight Champion with a first-round knockout over David Mills in Santiago, Chile, in South America on April 30, 1920. Living his native Argentina in 1922, Firpo embarked on a barnstorming career in the United Sates. He won 13 straight fights in 17 months to earn a crack at the World Heavyweight Boxing Championship. Firpo wild-brawl with champion Jack Dempsey is rated the most exciting in Boxing history. Firpo not only knocked the champion down twice, but he even knocked Dempsey out of the ring. Firpo, in turn, was knocked down no less than 7 times before being knocked cold in the second round. Firpo retired from boxing in 1926 and went back to Argentina to live a comfortable life on his ranch. However, as in the case of most boxers, Firpo launched a comeback at the age of 42. In his first fight in 10 years, he knocked out Saverio Grizzo in one round, and 16 days later, knocked out Siska Haharta in a 3-round slugfest. Realizing that he was too old to continue, the Wild Bull of the Pampas retired; forever a legend in boxing history.

- Rene Bond dominated early '70s Los Angeles porn, appearing in about 300 films and loops. She entered porn in the late 1960s for the usual reason--money. In her own words, "I had some friends who were working in porno, and I needed the money. So they said they'd introduce me to some people, and they did. I got used to the money". Rene began her career in the low-budget softcore schlock of producer Harry H. Novak, often appearing with her longtime boyfriend Ric Lutze. They would be a regular cinematic pair in both softcore and hardcore films for most of the 1970s. An industry observer described her as "a sinfully sexy and youthful-looking little strumpet whose well-rounded acting skills and vivacious approach to on-screen sexing made her an instant favorite." She had a petite, trim body that made her the go-to girl to play teenagers or farmers' daughters. She also had a deft touch with comedy. Her landmark linking segments in Teen-age Fantasies: An Adult Documentary (1972) epitomize her knack for coming across as sweet and winsome in even the raunchiest material. Rene was one of the first porn starlets to have breast implants to cater to what she called the "North American Breast Fetish". She got even more work after that. Rene incorporated herself in the mid-'70s and sold photos and slides of herself through her own mail-order company. She also sang, danced and stripped at the Ivar Burlesque Theater in Hollywood. She often brought her father on stage and sang "My Heart Belongs to Daddy" (her mom also went everywhere with her). Rene happily signed autographs in the lobby for a dollar each after her performances. Rene and Ric vanished from the film scene in 1978. Rene stayed out of sight until the mid-'80s when she was spotted as a contestant on the TV quiz show Break the Bank (1985). She was introduced as a bankruptcy specialist and had a new husband in tow (she won over $9,000 in cash and prizes). Rene was seen around Las Vegas throughout the late 1980s and 1990s. She died of liver problems in the late 1990s.
