Grey’s Anatomy has broken many hearts over its 20 seasons (and counting), but it’s also angered fans with how certain characters were written off. Realistically, no one wants to see their favorite character leave a show, but if it’s handled the right way, a good departure allows the legacy of the character to remain untouched.
While there are many factors that go into planning and handling a character’s exit, the final product can be hit or miss. Here are what we consider to be the worst and most unnecessary exits from TV’s longest-running primetime medical drama.
10. April Kepner
While April’s (Sarah Drew) departure in season 14 could be considered a “happy ending” for the character, it was deeply unsatisfying for viewers. She had apparently been dating Matthew (Justin Bruening), who she left at the altar, for months and didn’t tell anyone. That itself is surprising but...

While pregnancy is touted as one of the most beautiful aspects of life, the journey toward the reward of a bouncing baby is not always smooth. Although considered one of the most "natural" things in the world, the act of pregnancy has symptoms that are strange, physically and emotionally draining, and even life-or-death. There's a user on TikTok referred to as "The Girl with the List" who keeps a list of currently over 300 ways pregnancy and childbirth can ravage your body and mind: making you sick, stretching your skin, feeling like sharp pains in your back, swelling your ankles, losing your hair, weakening your nails, and on and on.
There's something very unsettling about a whole other person growing and moving inside you, absorbing your nutrients, changing who you are inside and out, and then being expelled from your body — sometimes in a violent manner. It's no wonder the horror...

In the 1995 movie "Waterworld," Kevin Costner was the draw in more ways than one. To much of the audience, he was still the glamorous movie star who had managed to pull off a blockbuster "Robin Hood" movie despite his inability to successfully nail an English accent. To others, he seemed like he might be a potential trainwreck on the verge of derailment. "Waterworld" had fallen victim to many behind-the-scenes tales of sinking sets, director fights, and Costner rewriting the script to make himself look better. Ultimately, for one reason or another, enough people were curious about the film that it turned a profit. However difficult he may have been behind the scenes, the star turned out to still have it.
Within the movie, however, the person everyone wants to see is Enola, a nine year-old girl whose back tattoo features an encoded map to the last bit of dry land on a post-climate change world.

Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd had unbeatable chemistry on Moonlighting. In fact, their chemistry could be so volatile the show ultimately could not continue, although the success of Die Hard and other movie offers probably would’ve been an irresistible force for Willis regardless. At least there were five seasons of Moonlighting, all available on DVD and creator Glenn Gordon Caron is working on getting them available on streaming services. Until then, here are 10 other shows to capture the chemistry and comic mystery if you like Moonlighting.

Pierce Brosnan got his big break on Remington Steele playing a pseudo James Bond like character. Stephanie Zimbalist played a private investigator who invented the fictional partner Remington Steele because clients wouldn’t take a female detective seriously.

Exclusive: Haylie Duff is the latest Napoleon Dynamite alumnus to join the cast of animated blockchain pilot Cyko Ko.
She will reunite with Jon Heder, Tina Majorino, Efren Ramirez and Jon Gries on the pilot, which is now called Cyko Ko: The Animated Series.
The show is based on Rob Feldman’s Ringo Award-nominated comic book, published by Rocketship Entertainment, of the same name. It follows the titular Cyko Ko, a “fourth-wall breakin’, pinball-addicted, cereal eatin’, motorcycle-ridin’ hero” in a campy Saturday morning cartoon–like world.
The series will follow him, sidekick Peachy Keen and their pet Meemop, as he protects the colonies of SuperEarth from giant monsters and crazy characters “in this Saturday morning cartoon-inspired, all-ages title.” Duff will voice waitress Dolphina.
With Duff signed on, the main cast of the web series is now rounded out.
Duff played ‘mean girl’ Summer in 2004 high-school comedy Napoleon Dynamite, and also starred in Seventh heaven.

Napoleon Dynamite can add blockchain development to his list of skills. Jon Heder, who portrayed the titular character in a 2004 cult classic, is reuniting with three other cast members from the film for a pilot called Cyko Ko. The animated project and its Dynamite cast will be supported by an Nft drop on Replay‘s Rewarded.tv platform.
Cyko Ko is inspired by a graphic novel written by Rob Feldman, who will serve as the showrunner for the animated adaptation. Both Feldman and Heder have previous experience with NFTs. Feldman tested the Web3 waters with a drop called Cyko Headz, and Heder dropped the “Order of the Tigrons” on the Theta blockchain earlier this year.
Heder is now returning to Theta, where Replay has built its proprietary platforms. The young company — which emerged out of stealth earlier this year, doles out tokens to viewers through a “watch-to-earn” model. To support its financial ecosystem,...

A follow-up to Universal’s 1995 movie Waterworld, starring Kevin Costner, is in the works for the small screen. The project, which hails from original producer John Davis and his Davis Entertainment is in very early development at UCP, sources tell Deadline. Davis tells Collider, which first reported the project, that Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) is attached to direct.
The series would pick up with the film’s characters 20 years later. No platform is attached, but sources close to the project say it could potentially be set at UCP sister streamer Peacock. Talks are currently underway with potential writers.
UCP would not comment.
Set in a post-apocalyptic future ravaged by climate change, the film revolves around a world that is covered in water. The polar ice cap has completely melted and the sea level has risen over 25,000 feet, covering nearly every inch of land. Costner stars as the Mariner, a drifter...

Pregnancy is already not treating Valerie (Natalie Paul) well by the time she and her doting husband Tom (Michael Cassidy) meet fellow mother-to-be Jenny (Tina Majorino) at a crunchy yoga class (mama-ste!). She’s been ill, had to take a leave of absence from work, and is wholly disinterested in finding out the baby’s gender. Even more worrisome, her phone won’t stop buzzing, and the mix of fear and shame that accompanies every text and call from “Riley” seems to send her down a new rabbit hole. When the peppy Jenny asks her what she’s most looking forward to, Valerie has a litany of ideas: getting her body back, not puking so much, going back to work — oh, and something about the baby, maybe?
Sure, yeah, the baby will be neat, too.

If there’s anyone that knows how to deliver a heart-wrenching death scene, it’s the team behind ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy.” Created by Shonda Rhimes, the broadcast medical drama came out of the gate in 2005 with literal life and death stakes for its characters. Being set in a hospital meant that mortality was a constant theme that touched the lives of every one who walked through the doors, be they of-the-week patients or support staff, or full-time cast members — no one is immune to the cold touch of death.
Now showrun by Krista Vernoff, “Grey’s Anatomy” has become the longest-running medical drama on television and, as such, the show has accumulated a record-high body count.
There have been quite a few of memorable ones that caused tears to be shed but not buckets to be cried. Those include Bonnie Crasnoff (Monica Keena), who was admitted after a train crash...

Now that the fourth season of Veronica Mars is streaming on Hulu, you might find yourself wishing that you'd binged seasons one through three (and the movie!) before diving into the new episodes. After all, there's a lot to remember about how Veronica (Kristin Bell) got her start as a sarcastic private investigator in Neptune, CA. Like, who killed Lilly Kane? Did the theme song always sound like that? And what was the whole deal with Cassidy Casablancas again? If the latter question is boggling your mind specifically, we're breaking it down below. Just be warned: spoilers for seasons one and two of Veronica Mars to follow!

As a reminder, Cassidy "Beaver" Casablancas (played by Kyle Gallner) is Dick Casablancas' younger, far dweebier brother. Dick and Logan frequently pick on "Beav," who's intelligent, but quiet and socially awkward.

You’ll be happy to know, Four Weddings and a Funeral fanatics, that Hulu’s adaptation of the beloved British rom-com does in fact open with its main character suddenly waking up and shouting the word “F—k!” repeatedly. Aside from that winking homage, though, the new Four Weddings — debuting Wednesday, July 31 on the streamer; I’ve seen the first five episodes — isn’t actually a straight rehash of the Hugh Grant/Andie MacDowell film we know and love, but rather, Fargo-style, a new tale with new characters told in the same vein. And while it might not quite reach the heights of the original,...

Ever since the Veronica Mars revival was announced, there has been one name ominously missing from the cast:

It was revealed ahead of the fourth season's debut that Majorino would not be part of the revival with many outlets reporting that the actress had other commitments.

Although Tina Majorino was not present for Veronica Mars‘ just-released fourth season on Hulu, her super-hacker alter ego, Mac, was at least accounted for. Early into the eight-episode revival, Kristen Bell’s titular sleuth remarks somewhat off-handedly that her bestie had gone Awol in Istanbul. It’s never explained why she’s there, so we’re putting the question to series creator Rob Thomas.
“It was really just to let the audience know that she was off the grid,” the Ep explains of the relatively arbitrary location, which was partly chosen because he recently “had a pleasant vacation” there. “I...

The following story contains massive spoilers from the finale of Hulu’s Veronica Mars revival — proceed at your own peril
Veronica Mars overlord Rob Thomas knows he has a metaphorical target on his back. After all, he’s the guy who murdered Logan Echolls in the final moments of Veronica Mars‘ eight-episode Hulu revival. “I’m not worried about my personal safety,” he says with a nervous laugh, “But I will confess that I am really worried about fan reaction. I’m absolutely prepared for a percentage of fans to have a strong reaction against what we did. That, I’m fine with.

One of the best parts of the Veronica Mars revival is getting to catch up with all the characters we've loved for more than a decade. There are a few former main characters who haven't arrived back in Neptune for Hulu's revival, though, and among them is Cindy "Mac" Mackenzie, played by Tina Majorino. As it turns out, Mac's absence is less about the storytelling and more about mundane, real-world scheduling.
At the Atx Television Festival in Austin, TX, in June, series creator Rob Thomas confirmed to TV Guide that Majorino was unable to participate in the eight-episode Hulu revival due to previous commitments that conflicted with the filming schedule.
"We would have loved to have Tina Majorino. She had other commitments. That was a shame. We adore her. We would have loved to have had her in it," Thomas explained. When we last saw Mac, at the end of the 2014 Veronica Mars movie,...

Ever since the Veronica Mars revival was announced, many of us marshmallows have been thinking about one thing:
What brings Logan back into the Neptune orbit?
Well, it seems like Logan is still working away in territories away from the United States of America, but he does return for a visit with Veronica, and the pair waste no time in giving into temptation.
However, there's trouble in paradise for them.

"So, what's the destructive gene in your relationship?," newcomer Kirby Howell-Baptiste, who plays Nicole asks Veronica.
“I think it might be me?” our titular hero responds.
While there may be some trouble for this couple, there's trouble brewing that is above their relationship.
Multiple explosions are peppered throughout the trailer, proving that this new case is not going to be an easy one.

Ever since the Veronica Mars revival was ordered at Hulu, there has been one name ominously missing from the cast.
Yes, we're talking about Tina Majorino here!
Majorino was last seen in the 2014 movie of Veronica Mars, but we have some bad news for fans holding out hope that she could pop up as Mac during the eight-episode limited series.

Series creator Rob Thomas confirmed at the Atx Television Festival that Majorino will definitely not be making a surprise appearance.

It's good to know that Majorino is busy with other projects, but it's a little disheartening that we won't get a glimpse of what Mac is like in 2019.

If there's one thing we know about the upcoming Veronica Mars revival, it's that the powers that be want as many cast members from the originals series to return in some capacity.
The latest addition to the cast is Ken Marino, who played Vinnie Van Lowe in ten episodes between 2005-07, before returning for the 2014 movie sequel.
Veronica Mars creator, Rob Thomas confirmed the news via Twitter, while The Wrap is reporting that Marino is on board for three episodes.
Marino joins a returning cast that already includes Kristen Bell (Veronica), Enrico Colantoni (Keith) Jason Dohring (Logan), Percy Daggs III (Wallace Fennel), Francis Capra (Weevil), Ryan Hansen (Dick Casablancas), Max Greenfield (Leo D'Amato), David Starzyk (Richard Casablancas), and Adam Rose (Max).

To mark the release of Waterworld on 21st January, we’ve been given 2 copies to give away on Blu-ray.
A definitive post-apocalypse blockbuster, Waterworld stars Kevin Costner (The Untouchables) as The Mariner – a mutant trader, adrift in a dystopian future where Earth is submerged under water and humankind struggles to survive on boats and in ramshackle floating cities. The Mariner becomes embroiled with the Smokers, a gang of pirates who, led by villainous leader Deacon, are seeking Enola, a girl with a map to the mythical realm of “Dryland” tattooed on her back.
Famous for both its epic scale and the controversy that swirled around its production, Waterworld is a key cult film of the 1990s, and an essential entry into the subgenre of ecologically-minded blockbusters. Presented here in an exclusive new restoration, in three different cuts, and with a wealth of extra material, this high-water mark of high-concept Hollywood...

The Veronica Mars revival has added another familiar face to its ranks.
According to TV Line, Adam Rose is the latest actor from the original Wpn/ The CW series to return.
Rose played Max on Veronica Mars Season 3. Max was the man who was selling old tests and research papers to the students of Hearst College.
While Tina Majorino is still not signed on to appear on the in-production revival, this could mean that she's not far behind.
Max and Mac dated for a minute back in the day, and while it's difficult to imagine them being together when the Hulu narrative picks up, stranger things have happened.

Hulu's Veronica Mars revival has added another original cast member to its ranks.
According to TV Line, Max Greenfield will appear in multiple episodes of the forthcoming limited series.
Max played Leo D'Amato on 11 episodes during the show's original run and went on to appear in the 2014 movie.
It's unclear what brings him back into the fold, but given his connections to the police department, he will likely be an ally for Veronica as she attempts to solve a string of murders.
Greenfield joins a returning cast that includes Kristen Bell (Veronica), Enrico Colantoni (Keith) Jason Dohring (Logan), Percy Daggs III (Wallace Fennel), Francis Capra (Weevil), Ryan Hansen (Dick Casablancas) and David Starzyk (Richard Casablancas).

There will be changes afoot in Neptune when Veronica Mars returns to the air.
TV Line has confirmed that Dawnn Lewis has landed the recurring role of Marcia Langdon aka the new chief of police in Neptune.
Lewis previously appeared on fellow Rob Thomas drama, iZombie in a recurring role, so this marks a reunion of sorts with the show's creator.
However, Lewis is best known for her role on A Different World, in which she played Jaleesa Vinson-Taylor.
Langdon first popped up in Mr. Kiss and Tell, one of the Veronica Mars novels that took place in the Veronica Mars universe following the movie.

“Veronica Mars” could be making its long-awaited TV return.
Sources tell Variety that a revival of the series is currently in the works at Hulu with original series star Kristen Bell poised to return as the titular detective and original series creator Rob Thomas serving as writer. Warner Bros. Television, which produced the original series, would be the studio. Sources caution, however, that the deal for the series is not yet final. It is also unknown if any other original series stars besides Bell would return or what the plot of the series would be.
Among the matters complicating the deal is that Bell currently stars in the hit NBC comedy “The Good Place.” Should the “Veronica Mars” project move forward, it would need to shoot around her schedule for the latter show, meaning it would likely be a limited series consisting of eight to ten episodes.
Both Hulu and Warner Bros.

There were a few years there where it seemed like we might not see Tina Majorino for a while but thankfully she’s come back and is currently featured on the show Scorpion. If you’ve been watching throughout the years however you might have noticed that she’s been a very prevalent actress in Hollywood and has taken up a lot of roles that have allowed her to show off the talent she has and the ability to conform to different parts. One thing about Tina is that she seems to bring the same kind of mannerisms and attitude to each part
