On May 28, “America’s Got Talent” season 19 began with the first installment of audition episodes. In this initial stage of the competition, each judge is given two “golden buzzer” decisions to make where they can send an act straight through to the live shows. As host, Terry Crews had one choice to make for his “golden buzzer,” and he was not shy about using it on the premiere to give comedian Learnmore Jonasi the show’s highest honor. Watch the full performance in the video above.
Ahead of his audition, Learnmore expressed his excitement and gratitude for having the opportunity to come from Zimbabwe and be in Los Angeles to perform in front of Terry and the judges. When he met Terry backstage he told him that he was a big inspiration and changed his life. At that point, he said “nothing will top this” and he would have been satisfied...

“Gremlins” director Joe Dante is spilling some secrets 40 years after the film’s release, including revealing the lengths to which studio Warner Bros. went to have one scene cut out.
Dante told Total Film that the 1984 film proved to be contentious amongst studio executives for one specific scene where Kate (Phoebe Cates) tells Billy (Zack Galligan) that she hates Christmas because her father died during the season. Well, WB execs “hated” that.
“[The scene] encapsulated the whole ethos of the picture,” Dante said. “There’s a duality of humor and horror but Warner Bros. just hated it.”
However, the sequence still stayed in the final edit in part due to producer Steven Spielberg siding with Dante. Even that endorsement didn’t stop the suits.
“I heard after it was out they were sending instructions to projectionists to see if they could cut it, which thankfully didn’t happen,” Dante said.
Chris Columbus penned the script.

From the beginning of Deal or No Deal Island, Stephanie Mitchell found herself playing defense. Early on in the inaugural season, she was targeted as a potential eliminee by some powerful people, but thanks to her signature “determination” (and a well-timed alliance with the so-called “Night Owls”), she managed to make it all the way to the end. She might’ve even gotten to the final two if she’d have just selected a case that was higher than Amy McCoy’s. So how would she have fared in that final excursion with Jordan Fowler? And was she really trying to help her beat the banker (Howie Mandel) in the final temple? Plus, do the cast members have plans to get back together anytime soon? TV Insider caught up with Mitchell to get all the scoop. You were pretty much the only person that was eliminated purely by luck. How did you feel about that?...

It was a long, hard (plus hot and full of bugs) road, but Jordan Fowler managed to beat the banker on Monday’s finale of Deal or No Deal Island. After Rob “Boston Rob” Mariano eliminated himself by coming in last in the foot race, and Stephanie Mitchell’s case didn’t have a high enough value for her to continue forward, it was up to Jordan to defeat her lone remaining competitor Amy McCoy in a balance challenge. And, despite some efforts by Amy to shake her off of the tight rope they both were tasked with crossing, Jordan emerged victorious and had the final chance to face the banker. The banker for this Deal or No Deal spinoff was, perhaps unsurprisingly, original show host Howie Mandel, who was delighted to face someone who also claimed “determination” as their superpower. With the help of all of the season’s contestants,...

The current star of America’s Got Talent and the former star of American Idol, Simon Cowell, has a new love in his life. The sometimes grouchy and always brutally honest reality competition show megastar is in love. From the photos Simon Cowell posted on Instagram, there is no doubt he is truly in love.
Simon Cowell’s Health
The talent show judge is known for getting horrific migraines. His new love interest just might help with those migraines.
These migraines have gotten in the way of his work. Cowell recently had to leave the set while filming Britain’s Got Talent due to the fact he was having a migraine. The bright lights of the set can trigger a migraine. This is why he is often seen wearing tinted sunglasses. Migraines can also be triggered by stress. Judging from the photos Simon Cowell posted on Instagram, his new love might help lower his stress level.

HBO Real Time host Bill Maher is launching a podcast network.
The Club Random Studios network (the name is derived from Maher’s Club Random podcast), will seek to host podcasts built on an idea of “freedom of expression,” the late night host tells The Hollywood Reporter.

NBC is setting up another reality summer.
The network has unveiled premiere dates for its summer slate including America’s Got Talent, American Ninja Warrior, Password, The Wall and Weakest Link.
It’s much the same look as last year, although without the likes of Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge, Dick Wolf’s LA Fire and Rescue and Jimmy Fallon’s That’s My Jam.
Deadline understands that Hot Wheels, which comes from Endemol Shine North America, Workerbee TV and Mattel Television, and docuseries LA Fire and Rescue, have both been canceled. The latter premiered its first season on May 30, 2023 and the former premiered on June 21, 2023.
In terms of That’s My Jam, Deadline revealed that production had been paused in February, understood to be for celebrity scheduling reasons.
New episodes of Weakest Link, essentially season four of the revived series, will kick off the slate on Tuesday April 2 at 9pm, an hour earlier than last year,...

Keke Palmer is not sleeping on 2024. Starting the year with an Emmy win for outstanding host of a game show for her work on NBC’s Password, the actress is filming both Aziz Ansari’s Good Fortune and Eddie Murphy vehicle The Pickup, running year-old media upstart KeyTV, growing her podcast and hosting a second season of Password — which premieres Tuesday. So, it was obviously a little confusing when a recent comment to Teen Vogue had many interpreting that the 30-year-old’s retirement was “around the corner.” The response, says Palmer, was unexpected — and quite overblown. Speaking over the phone in February, Palmer elaborated on long-term hopes for her career, gave her late review on Usher’s Super Bowl Halftime Show and revealed how a conversation with one Password guest might have accidentally led to a seaside vacation.
