The one thing that can be said about Divya Khosla Kumar’s film with certainty is that it sure beats watching the phoney romance in this week’s other romantic release Fitoor. Though honesty of intent may not per se be a virtue worth pursuing, it gives Sanam Re a headstart over the other film which struggles to keep its head above the water.
Sanam Re stays afloat, thanks to the film’s message on how love can take a couple through the most unexpected places. Hence, Sameer Arya’s camera picks on some of the most scenic spots in the world to hone the hues of love, heighten the romance, as the lead pair goes through various sections seasons and phases in life to create a graph for the lovers time together and apart.

The veteran actor Anupam Kher, who was in the news recently because of his play Mera Woh Matlab Nahi Tha, was all set to work with Sanjay Gupta in the much talked about film Jazbaa. However, the present day status is that, Anupam Kher is no longer doing the film. The film's co-producer Nitin Keni reasoned that there were lots of shuffling of dates from their end. When Bollywood Hungama spoke to Anupam Kher, he said, "We were not able to match up with each other's' availability of dates. But, I am hopeful of working with Sanjay Gupta in the near future." Meanwhile, news is that Jackie Shroff has now been roped in for the role, which Anupam Kher was supposed to do. Directed by Sanjay Gupta, Jazbaa is written by Kamlesh Pandey and Robin Bhatt and has cinematography by Sameer Arya. The film has been in the news because...

Babli badmash hai, sings Priyanka Chopra in one of the 3 utterly wasted item numbers in this film about blazing guns, flaring nostrils, sanguinary revenge and bleak atonement. Babli is not the only one who’s a badmaash here. The characters are all hardened players of the underworld from the 1970s. They all mean business in the business of being mean.
They sport the right clothes dialogues and attitude.
Yes, the detailing is deft.
Wordsmith Milap Zaveri who is the real hero hero of this film about fascist solutions to the conundrum of urban chaos, pulls out all stops to spread out an orgy of rhetorics and rhetorics all across the narrative. Everyone speaks as if they are reading out a copywriter’s wisdom from billboards and hoardings. Everyone is a smart ass in this film.

S. Hussain Zaidi is a Mumbai based investigative crime journalist, who has worked for some of India’s leading newspapers. One of his previous best selling books was Black Friday, which Anurag Kashyap successfully transformed onto screen. His most recent book is Dongri to Dubai: Six decades of the Mumbai Mafia and from this book has Shootout at Wadala been created. Sanjay Gupta says without it he could not have made this film, Anil Kapoor called it by far the best book on the Mumbai mafia and John Abraham hailed Zaidi as a master storyteller. If you have not had a chance to read the book, take it from us, it is an absolutely amazing book and having read the book recently, our expectations are sky high for the film. Further, Sanjay Gupta is back after a long hiatus and John Abraham attempts the role of gangster for the first time.

The prequel to the smash hit, Shootout At Lokhandwala, is based on Hussain S. Zaidi’s bestslling investigative book – Dongri to Dubai. Adapting a non-fiction book into a film requires special skills because of the need to sieve all the facts presented in the book into the film’s narrative and all this while, keeping the film entertaining! This is exactly the reason I was intrigued to watch this film and to see what Sanjay Gupta had done with the subject material.

Shilpa Shetty and hubby Raj Kundra were seen together in an advertisement not too long ago. Now we hear that Sanjay Dutt will be seen along with wifey dearest Maanyata in front of the camera. It is learnt that the couple shot a commercial for a jewellery brand on Dutt's birthday yesterday. Yesterday, Dutt brought in his birthday first by meeting a group of children from an Ngo in the morning, and then followed it up with the shoot of the ad. The ad, which was directed by Siddharth Dhawan, was done over a three day shoot in Bandra and will be used in TV as well as print medium. If that wasn't enough noted cinematographer Sameer Arya was the man behind the camera, while well known photographer Jeetu Savlani shot the stills for the print campaign.
