"This is our new community. Not everyone is a racist, Mack." FilmBuff has debuted a trailer for an indie comedy titled Little Boxes, about an interracial couple that moves from New York City to a small, mostly white town in Washington State. This played at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, but this is the first time we've heard about it. The family is made up of Nelsan Ellis, Armani Jackson, and Melanie Lynskey, which seems like a spunky mix and there's some good jokes in this trailer referencing exactly that. The full cast includes Oona Laurence (the girl from Pete's Dragon), Janeane Garofalo, Christine Taylor, and Nadia Dajani. It looks fun, but that's the most I can say, as some of the comedy seems a bit too contrived. Here's the first official trailer for Rob Meyer's Little Boxes, originally from Yahoo: An interracial family (including Nelsan Ellis, Armani Jackson...

With its picket-fence sameness and routine tedium making it a hot bed for deep-rooted repression — at least as depicted in many a film — the horrors of suburbia have been captured in virtually every genre. Little Boxes, directed by Rob Meyer and written by Annie J. Howell, employs this setting to explore societal racism with a grounded, realistic approach, making it all the more alarming. However, while this specific exploration proves to be effective, the drama around which it’s built becomes increasingly unimaginative.

“Take Care” starts off with an unlikely premise and an unlikeable heroine, but it emerges as a not entirely terrible comedy. Calling the film “not entirely terrible” may seem like an unnecessarily negative way to phrase “okay," but if you’ve seen the trailer, it’s actually an improvement on what you think you’re getting into. The fault lies in the premise, as well as in its characters and their decisions. Though the plot gets points for originality, there may be a reason why no one has told this story before: it’s ridiculous. But “Take Care” occasionally succeeds with funny dialogue and performances from Leslie Bibb and Thomas Sadoski. Bibb stars as Frannie, a woman living our worst New York City nightmare. A car crash has left her with both a broken leg and a broken arm in a city full of stairs and subways and fifth floor walk-ups.

Despite the offers of support they receive from their friends and family who wish to help them during their painful recovery process, maintaining that freedom often allows women to feel as though they have control over what’s happening to them. New York City producer Liz Tuccillo strikingly showcased that fact with the new comedy-drama, ‘Take Care,’ which marks her [ Read More ]

Leslie Bibb and her Take Care costar Thomas Sadowski were in Austin, Tex., last week to talk about their new film at SXSW. During their exclusive interview with Uinterview, Bibb segued into a discussion about poop.
Leslie Bibb Interview
In Take Care, Bibb plays Frannie, a woman who needs some taking care of after suffering major injuries in a car accident. Unfortunately for Frannie, it’s harder to find friends who want to help her out than she thought. One thing she needs help with is getting her digestive tract on track, which is where Devon (Sadoski) comes in: Frannie needs him to pick her up some prunes.
Bibb Talks Poop, 'Take Care'
“I’ve taken Vicodin before. I didn’t poop for like two weeks when I had my accident with my ear. I said we have to discuss that,” said Bibb, explaining why she fought for the prune scene.

Not sure if there is a Short Term 12 equivalent in this year’s Narrative Feature Comp, but on paper SXSW programmers are serving up a mean (and the usual lean group of 8 out of a whopping 1,324 film entries) for the upcoming competitiuon of eight which includes notable entries (that we’ve been tracking for a good time now) such as Zachary Wigon’s The Heart Machine, John Magary’s The Mend, Leah Meyerhoff’s I Believe in Unicorns and Lawrence Michael Levine’s Wild Canaries. Undoubtedly one of the most anticipated docs of the year, on the non-fiction side we find Margaret Brown’s The Great Invisible. Below you’ll find a breakdown of the other sections (notable world preems in We’ll Never Have Paris and Faults (see Mary Elizabeth Winstead above), some Sundance items with Texan connections and other nuggets.

Sorry all you "Kyddshaw" shippers ... based on these first look photos The CW just released from "The Carrie Diaries" Season 2 episode 4, someone new is about to sweep Carrie off her feet.
In "Borderline," we'll get our first look at newcomer Chris Wood's character Adam Weaver, a playwright wunderkind that Carrie is tasked with interviewing for work. But it looks like business will quickly morph into pleasure as Adam woos Carrie, and goes in for a kiss.
Sebastian probably won't take that well, as the official episode synopsis claims that he will "seek comfort in the arms of someone new." Uh oh...
Another couple that won't be having the smoothest of times? Walt and Bennet, who seem to be arguing in the pics.
Read the full synopsis for the episode below:
"Carrie pitches Larissa a profile on New York wunderkind playwright Adam Weaver (guest star Chris Wood), but when he proves a difficult,...

Last week, we tried to get Ad-Rock talking about the Beastie Boys memoir he's writing with Mike D. (We saw him at a screening of Frances Ha hosted by the Peggy Siegal Company.) We got a little bit on that front, but were mostly just treated to his random thoughts on Sting, James Murphy, and The Face magazine. Here, a slightly condensed version of our conversation, including commentary from his lifelong friend, actress, and "Fight for Your Right to Party" star Nadia Dajani. She's a delight. How’s the memoir coming? Adam Horovitz (Ad-Rock): We haven’t started yet. But we’re gonna.Do you keep a diary or journal or anything? Do you have notes?Ah: No.Nadia Dajani: But I have early scrapbooks, and I’m gonna give him a bunch of stuff. I saved a lot. Like what? Magazine clippings, or? Ah: I got stuff.

Nadia Dajani once played Nina Katz, Aiden’s post-Carrie girlfriend. Yes, pretzel girl, that’s correct. And Noelle Beck played Mr. Big’s first wife Barbara on Sex and the City. These two actresses are returning to the world of fashion and gossip. Both have just been cast in the prequel series, The Carrie Diaries.
This is more than a little weird when you really think about it. It’s like we’ve entered a time warp. But it is also good news for these actors. Both ladies now have recurring roles on the CW series. In the defense of logic, the actresses are not reprising Sex and the City roles. That wouldn’t make sense because they would have to be younger, since Carrie Diaries is a prequel. instead they have new roles to sink their teeth into.

Hopefully there’ll be no rift in the TV space-time continuum when a pair of Sex and the City alumnae join The CW’s freshman prequel dramedy The Carrie Diaries for multi-episode arcs.

A quick review of last night's "The Good Wife" coming up just as soon as I make a reservation for 4... For an episode whose Case of the Week was about a young woman committing suicide, "After the Fall" was one of the more light-hearted episodes of the season, with Will's sisters (Merritt Wever from "Nurse Jackie" and Nadia Dajani) driving him nuts at home while the sharks circled around his office back at the firm. Even the case itself was pitched relatively comedically, with the return of Mamie Gummer as Nancy Crozier, who got into an epic blonde-off with Caitlin in front of the...

Tonight on The Good Wife: Power Plays and Office Politics (Sneak Peek)
The Good Wife is certainly going to have a very different dynamic now that Lockhart Gardner is Lockhart & Associates after Will (Josh Charles) took a forced six-month absence from practising law. After successfully beating Wendy Scott-Carr (Anika Noni Rose) Will faced the Illinois State Bar Association who were investigating his past misdemeanor of having borrowed $45,000 from a clients account. To prevent Will's possible disbarment he decided that taking the six-month suspension was the most sensible plan of action and this leaves Diane (Christine Baranski) with a major power struggle at the firm. We have a sneak peek of how these changes are affecting both Will and Diane below.
As we have seen previously there are some very big egos in this office and they don't play well together. You will not be surprised to hear then...

Six months is a long stretch, even in accelerated TV time. And yet that is for how long The Good Wife‘s Will Gardner must go without practicing law, as ruled by the Bar Association upon learning that, years ago, he “borrowed” money from a client. How will the hard-working litigator bide his time while hardly working? (Might he find a loophole to his suspension?) What will visiting kin have to say about the sad sitch? And might Will use the respite to reflect on not just his professional woes but romantic ones as well?

After 15 or so years of practicing law, The Good Wife's Will Gardner is about to face his toughest jury yet: his sisters.
"Will is an alpha male, and he loves to be the one questioning," Josh Charles tells TVGuide.com "To see a character that has a lot of strength in the office being put back against the wall while his sisters harass him and question him about his personal life — that was fun to play. I haven't been able to do anything like in the last couple of years with this character."
The Good Wife exclusive sneak peek: Is Will going to crash? Kalinda sure thinks so
Chicago's 16th most eligible bachelor will roll out the welcome wagon — and a guitar! — on Sunday's episode (9/8c, CBS) when his sisters Aubrey and Sara (played by Nurse Jackie's Merritt Wever and The Big C's Nadia Dajani, respectively) come to town.

Spoilers: The Secret Circle's Blackwell Returns, Will & Grace in Parks and Rec, and CSI: NY Love Interest
The Secret Circle | Which major book character is finally coming to Chance Harbor? Are you sitting down for this? John Blackwell. Best known for Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and Higher Ground (Everyone saw this show, right?), Joe Lando has been cast as the mysterious and powerful witch who finally makes his entrance in episode 15 "Return," supposedly so he can protect the Circle. Yeah, that's what I thought, too.
And what's up with Faye's new boy-toy Lee? Nothing good, I'm afraid. It seems this whole time he's been hiding the secret of his ex-girlfriend Eva (Alexia Fast) being in a drug-induced coma. And would you look at that, she's ready to wake up in "Return". My that episode is beginning to look really busy...

With the Nurse Jackie star already on board as one of Will Gardner's nagging sisters, TV Line confirms Nadia Dajani will also stop by later this season in the same capacity. The actress (The Big C, Necessary Roughness) is expected to appear on multiple episodes and to give her brother a hard time about his lack of a wife.

The clue is in the title. His name is Bob (Michael Leydon Campbell) and he’s in a bit of a funk. Bob’s a drunken, misanthropic mattress salesman with appalling people skills, an infinitely more buttoned down older brother Ron (Eddie Jemison), and a mother (Grace Zabriskie) who’s also his boss and fast running out of patience. Cue Rachel Leigh Cook’s klutzy cupcake Ms. Thorne, who Bob instantly warms to in his own sweaty way and who must now supervise his latest period of job probation. It’s a workplace comedy with all the elements present and correct for a riotous giggle fest with just one teeny tiny - hardly worth mentioning really - little flaw. It’s apocalyptically unfunny.
Now that hit television shows like The Office have dragged the comedy of embarrassment out of the cult corner in which it languished, we’re seeing something...
