[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Fear The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 12, “The Road Ahead.”] The Fear The Walking Dead series finale has come and gone, and throughout all of the story arcs, several actors on the show had their own theories of how their characters and the show at large would wrap up. When touching on the series finale, Kim Dickens said she’s much happier with her character’s second ending, which saw the once-thought-dead Madison Clark reunite with her once-thought-dead daughter, Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey). “The Dell Diamond sacrifice was a surprise to me, and I wasn’t—I wasn’t that happy to leave at that moment,” she remembers. “I also thought Madison would’ve frickin’ climbed or gotten out of there somehow!” Thankfully, as it turned out, Madison had gotten out of there somehow—and Dickens had the chance to give her character a more hopeful and fitting conclusion. “I had a...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Fear The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 12, “The Road Ahead.”] Who said joy can’t be found in the rotted depths of the end of the world? All post-apocalyptic pessimism is banished in the final scenes of Fear The Walking Dead’s finale, “The Road Ahead.” The alive, then dead, then alive, then dead, then alive again (long story) Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) was at last able to pull her daughter, Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), in for a tearful embrace. And as a bonus, Daniel (Ruben Blades) even gets his long-missing orange tabby cat back. Yep—Skidmark lives! We chatted with showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg about how long that emotional reunion was in the making, whether or not they considered resurrecting other fan favorites in the finale, and whether there’s a chance certain Fear characters might appear in future The Walking Dead projects. When Alycia Debnam-Carey departed last season,...

You’re not gone until you’re gone. At least that’s what I told people when they realized it took eight seasons for “Fear the Walking Dead” to wrap up.
“Fear” bested predictions and became one of the longest-running television spin-offs currently on air. While ratings dwindled and characters were written off over the years, it maintained a decent cult following — some tuning in for Alycia Debnam-Carey, who came into her own as an actress on the show following “The 100,” while others begrudgingly watched to keep up with the “Walking Dead” universe, after characters like Morgan (Lennie James), Dwight (Austin Amelio) and Sherry (Christine Evangelista) were transferred from the original series.
A key to its success, “Fear” never shied away from a soft reboot. Every season tackled a new approach to its storytelling, sometimes in the span of a few episodes. Early seasons of “Fear” felt migratory even,...

Is anyone else beginning to get the sense that bringing Kim Dickens back under the same showrunners who discarded her was a bad idea?
Madison Clark has been a shell of her former self since her return, but Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 10 was legitimately one of the worst hours of TV I've ever watched because the writing is so off for all of these great characters.
Obviously, the show would never be able to recapture the magic of Fear the Walking Dead Season 3, but I didn't think the bar could get any lower than Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 and Fear the Walking Dead Season 7.
Madison's quest to find Alica's corpse wasn't bad because, as a parent, she wanted to ensure her daughter was laid to rest.
Madison holds on to a lot of guilt for many of her actions, but she'll never get over not being around to save her children.

Of all the terrible things Victor Strand has done throughout his time shifting allegiances on Fear the Walking Dead, acting like he didn't know Madison is one of the worst.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 7 filled in the blanks about what became of the villain after his ill-fated tower imploded, and it was another meandering episode of this once-hot zombie drama.
Pulling off such a reunion between Madison and Anton Strand was no easy feat, and for the first time in a long time, Madison felt like the leader we left when Kim Dickens was unceremoniously written out of Fear the Walking Dead Season 4.
Despite the attempts from current showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg to fix the damage they caused to the show and its fandom by discarding Dickens, Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 has been a waste of time.
Until now, that is.

‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Final Episodes Trailer: Troy Returns to Take Everything From Madison (Video)
“It can’t end like this!” If the “this” in that exclamation is with many walkers and much more trouble from them (and humans) for the survivors in the final six episodes of Fear the Walking Dead, well, yes, it looks like it can. The trailer and key art for Season 8B, which will premiere on Sunday, October 22 at 9/8c on AMC and AMC+, has been released. The series will end with back-to-back episodes on Sunday, November 19. When people show up looking for Madison (Kim Dickens), Victor (Colman Domingo) has a choice to make in the trailer. “The wolves are circling,” he tells her upon finding her. “I came here to help you.” AMC And she’s going to need all the help she can get because Troy (Daniel Sharman), despite seemingly being killed off in Season 3, is back. “You’re outnumbered. You’re outgunned. This doesn’t end well,...

“Fear the Walking Dead” is promising major reunions and bigger zombie fights for its final few episodes, if this first trailer is anything to go by.
Season 8’s “All I See Is Red” ended with Madison (Kim Dickens) starting to rebuild the base Padre. This new trailer picks up right where the episode left off with Victor (Colman Domingo) returning to her side and vowing to help her rebuilding efforts. But Victor isn’t the only one who’s back.
The first half of Season 8 ended with a mysterious someone listening to Madison’s broadcast. That teaser showed this stranger had the prosthetic arm that belongs to Madison’s daughter, Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey). We still don’t know if Alicia is alive or dead, but we know who that mysterious stranger is.
Troy Otto (Daniel Sharman), the man Madison believed she killed way back in Season 3, appears in this final trailer.

Madison (Kim Dickens) seemingly killed Troy several years ago with a devastating blow to the head from her hammer.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 6 teased someone coming after Madison and her people after listening to her calls as the leader of Padre.
Troy seems to have revenge on the mind as he tells Madison that she took everything from him and is seemingly in control of an army of walkers.
Revenge will surely be on his mind because it's no coincidence that the rest of his family were killed shortly after she started living at his family farm with her kids.

Now, Morgan, Madison and the others who were brought to the island must endure Padre’s cynical rule. With the characters demoralized and dejected, the task of reigniting belief in a better world rests with the person Morgan and Madison set out to rescue in the first place — Morgan’s daughter, Mo.
Colman Domingo, Danay García, Austin Amelio, Karen David, Christine Evangelista, Jenna Elfman, and Rubén Blades also star.
The apocalyptic horror-sci-fi drama series is executive produced by Scott M. Gimple,...

Ever since Madison Clark popped back up after most characters thought she was dead, I wondered how the series would handle her reunions with the people from her past.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 3 was a satisfying hour of this Walking Dead spinoff because it had a clear focus, many reunions, and significant shifts that will drive the final three episodes of the first half of Fear the Walking Dead Season 8.
We'll start with Madison and June. Kim Dickens and Jenna Elfman are two of the finest actors, and they managed to deliver the raw emotion required to make the pair crossing baths both believable and impactful.
If you watch Fear the Walking Dead online, you know Madison saved June's -- and everyone else's -- lives when she blew up the stadium with herself inside as a sacrifice.

How do you have hope in a hopeless world?
Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 1 finally gave us the insight we need into what goes on behind the scenes at Padre, and while it's hard to say it was unpredictable, it was a jolt in the right direction for the first Walking Dead spinoff.
There was much confusion about how late the end date announcement came in the game, but Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 feels like we're reaching the end of a chapter.
It would be a shame not to get closure, but "Remember What They Took From You" gives the sense that we'll witness the conclusion of the Padre storyline, leaving our favorite characters at very different stages in life.
Madison was front and center during the premiere, but that's not to say the show forgot about Morgan. If the premiere is any indication, Kim Dickens and Lennie James...

“Fear the Walking Dead” begins its eighth and final season Sunday, bringing the curtain down on an impressive eight-year run and more than 100 episodes produced. This installment begins with a compelling hook, boo-hiss baddies lined up and the stage set for a suitably epic showdown with some degree of finality to it. Then again, maybe not.
As the first “Walking Dead” spin-off begins its last descent, it’s worth reflecting on the world it debuted in back in fall 2015. At the time, “The Walking Dead” was not only a ratings behemoth but a genuine pop culture phenomenon, commanding both heated watercooler discourse and high-minded thinkpieces.
The temperature has come down substantially in the years since, but that does nothing to diminish what the franchise achieved at its peak, and by extension how “Fear the Walking Dead” rode the tide to some surprising artistic highs. The show could be uneven at...

It's no secret that Fear the Walking Dead is the most inconsistent series on TV in recent memory.
The first three seasons were not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but under the leadership of Dave Erickson, certain aspects of those initial three seasons towered above the main series.
With Erickson's departure at the end of Fear the Walking Dead Season 3, there was a noticeable dive in quality, thanks to inconsistent pacing, poorly developed characters, and some nonsensical storytelling.
Every time the series has shown some semblance of quality, it has returned off the rails before we get accustomed to it.
Surprisingly, the first three episodes of Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 are some of the strongest since those initial three seasons, giving the sense that the latest revamp might bring the show to a close with some dignity.

Kim Dickens returned as Madison to finish her story arc in the final two seasons of AMC's Fear the Walking Dead. Kim tells CineMovie she was thrilled to be asked back although executive producers Ian Goldberg and Michael E. Satrazemis feared she would tell them to "fly a kite' before approaching her. The actress was very upset when her character was written off the show in season 4 but she says she was lifted by the support she received from her fans. ...

The best way to describe Fear the Walking Dead is a rollercoaster.
What started as a compelling look into how the world fell became a tedious affair, and we're surprised it's even getting an eighth and final season to tie up loose ends.
The series was destined for success on its brand name alone, and looking back, it's hard to believe that it is the same show we watched during the first three seasons.
It's time to dive into how the show lost most of its viewers and whether anything could have prevented the series from becoming what it is today: A shell of its former self.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 1 premiered to a decent response and broke several cable records.
It started as a series about the Clark family and their struggle to come to terms with the fall of the world.

AMC and AMC+ have set a Sunday, May 14, 2023 premiere date for the eighth – and final – season of Fear the Walking Dead. The network also announced the new The Walking Dead spinoff, The Walking Dead: Dead City, will premiere this June, and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is expected to debut later this year.

Fear the Walking Dead is coming to an end at AMC.
Just months after its mothership show ended its 11-season run comes news that the spinoff will conclude with its upcoming eighth season.
Even more surprising is that only 12 episodes have been ordered for the final season, it was revealed at TCA.
The series has had 16 episode seasons since 2017, so it's unclear whether the demise is a result of the budget cuts at AMC Networks that found several shows getting the boot, many with episodes in the can.
The only good news is that we're getting the completed episodes, but they'll air in two parts.
The first batch of episodes will launch May 14 at 9 p.m., with the second half on tap for later in the year.
