The Vampire Diaries has long been one of the top supernatural drama shows of all time. The series ran for eight seasons. And even after it went off the air, the universe stayed alive through spinoff shows, novels, and comic books. Over the years, The Vampire Diaries has been at the center of many fan conspiracies and controversies. In a 2015 panel interview, two years before The Vampire Diaries went off the air, executive producer Caroline Dries opened up about why she and the other producers decided to destroy “The Other Side” in the series.
What is ‘The Other Side’ in ‘The Vampire Diaries’?
“The Other Side” has an important place in the mythology of The Vampire Diaries. It is a supernatural dimension where the spirits of the dead reside in a type of limbo. “The Other Side” wasn’t given a name until the third season of the show, when...

Studios typically try to hang on to props because they are a vital part of the history of shows like The Vampire Diaries and can even increase in value over time. However, the actors who use them usually care more about keeping a memento of their time spent in character than they do about the cost of the item.
Over the years, several actors have come forward to admit that they have taken home props. One of them was Paul Wesley, who kept Stefan’s daylight ring when Tvd ended in 2017.

The Vampire Diaries stuck to a staple of vampire lore by having its fanged characters get burned if they went outside during the day. However, the show also devised a simple solution to this problem so that its characters could walk in the sun—daylight rings.

Blood is a huge component of storytelling when it comes to vampires and werewolves. The Vampire Diaries had plenty of graphic shots requiring digital and practical effects such as blood. One of the show’s stars, Candice King, the fake blood during kiss scenes could be a challenge.

It took a long time before Stefan Salvatore, and Caroline Forbes succumbed to their feelings for one another. Caroline was the first one to have feelings for Stefan after having a crush on him since high school. They got close and became friends and each other’s support system throughout the seasons, and when Caroline’s mother died in season 6, Stefan realized how deep his feelings for Caroline ran.
However, by that time, Caroline had switched off her humanity, and it was up to Stefan to bring her back.

Nathan Dean as Max Evans and Jeanine Mason as Liz Ortecho in ‘Roswell, New Mexico’ season 4 episode 13
The CW’s Roswell, New Mexico season four episode 13 serves as both the season and series finale. Picking up seconds after the end of episode 12, “How It’s Going to Be“ begins with Clyde easily stopping Isobel and Max’s attack. Rosa (Amber Midthunder) concentrates on tuning in on Clyde’s frequency and manages to free herself from his restraint.
Rosa surprises Clyde by smashing him over the head with a board, which gives Max (Nathan Dean) time to prepare to use the blue flame. Unfortunately, Clyde also uses the flame and knocks everyone over before kidnapping Rosa and escaping in a car.
The #PodSquad discuss their next move and Bonnie suggests they need to destroy the portal before Clyde can use it. Michael (Michael Vlamis) thinks they should hold off on that drastic move and Max agrees.

Have you ever wondered what happened to Michael Dorn after Star Trek? Me too! He’s in Agent Revelation…
Agent Revelation kicks off with some brilliant B-movie direction, approaching a house in the desert (and some sheep). Before we know what is happening, two middle aged men are chasing each other, while our B movie director does his best to make it look dynamic and exciting (he fails). Before we know what is happening. One of them is CGI effect, vomiting some blood onto the other one and some special forces types are then running him down.

"When I saw what that 'ash' was capable of... I wanted to run." "You should have." The official trailer has debuted for a low budget sci-fi action thriller titled Agent Revelation, which is actually a sequel (né Agent II) to a 2017 sci-fi film called Agent made by the same filmmaker. This next one is set to arrive on VOD in January and looks pretty cool. Written, directed by and starring Derek Ting, the film focuses on Jim Yung, a rejected CIA analyst, who has been exposed to an ancient 'dust' that transforms him into a super soldier that can communicate with aliens. The sets in this look great, but the rest of it still seems a bit sketchy.

To independent filmmaker Derek Ting, Hong Kong is the place that made his dream come true. It is the city where he and partner Joyce Yung began a decade-long ride in filmmaking and production with the founding of Random Art Workshop, which has produced three narrative feature films and a range of creative content.
A decade into navigating Asia and the West throughout a globe-trotting filmmaking journey, the company strives to grow bigger with greater ambition to turn future projects into new vehicles that would allow the company’s founders to give back to the city while supporting international productions from a global perspective.
“We want to be the global leader in telling universal impactful stories by guiding creators to maximize a project’s vision and potential leveraging technology and adaptability to optimize workflow,” Yung tells Variety.
“I understand the Western taste and I also have the sensitivity towards the Eastern culture.

Batwoman takes a leap into the paranormal this week as a new villain, Nocturna arrives as a serial killer that projects herself as a vampire that literally drains the blood out of her victims. It’s a unique take on a serial killer story and one that would fit much better in an October/Halloween episode than in February.
Nocturna (Kayla Ewell) is actually Natalia Knight, who was adopted as a child by a janitor working at a church. It just so happens Natalia has a rare blood disorder that prevents her from being exposed to sunlight and her kidneys have trouble cleaning her own blood, hence the reason she needs other people’s blood to stay alive. The Rookie returned from an 11-week break with bumper ratings.
The highly anticipated midseason return had 4.9 million viewers and a 0.8 rating in the demo -- up 33% vs. the show's fall finale in the demo.
These numbers also mark one-year highs for the ABC drama series.
Granted, the series had a bigger lead-in than usual thanks to American Idol (7.5 million viewers/1.4 rating).
Still, these numbers are excellent for the Nathan Fillion-led police drama.
Idol was down just a tenth from last week's premiere, but still dominated the night.
What did you think of The Rookie's return?
Over on The CW, Batwoman (0.8 million/0.2 rating) and Supergirl (0.7 million/0.2 rating) were both steady, proving they are a good pairing on Sundays.

Former The Vampire Diaries co-stars Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley have responded to reports that they didn't get along on the set of The CW hit.
Dobrev appeared on the Directionally Challenged Podcast back in June.
It was hosted by former Vampire Diaries stars Candice King and Kayla Ewell, and she opened up about not getting along with Wesley on during the show's early days.
“Paul and I didn’t get along at the beginning of the show,” Dobrev said at the time.
“I respected Paul Wesley; I didn’t like Paul Wesley. I remember everyone would walk up to me after the show aired and they’d be like, ‘Are you and Paul dating in real life?’ because everyone thought that we had such good chemistry."
She continued, "I realize now that there’s a fine line between love and hate, and we despised each other so much that it read as love.

Paul Wesley has finally addressed the claims that he did not get along with his The Vampire Diaries co-star, Nina Dobrev.
Wesley played Stefan Salvatore, and Dobrev played Elena Gilbert on The CW smash, and for the first few seasons, the characters were in a relationship.
“I think the point that Nina was making, and I’ll totally back her up on this, is that we totally clashed [the] first couple years in terms of just getting on each other’s nerves, and then developed this wonderful friendship,” Wesley told reporters at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Thursday, August 1.
“So it’s like this nice, happy ending.”

Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley are proof that co-stars can have great chemistry on-screen, while pretty much despising each other off-screen. While the duo heated up TV sets on the CW's beloved series, The Vampire Diaries, for many seasons, they actually didn't get along for the first few months of filming. Dobrev shared this surprising revelation during an interview with former Tvd co-stars Candice King and Kayla Ewell for their Directionally Challenged podcast. "We despised each other so much, that it read as love," Dobrev said with a laugh. "We really just didn't get along the first maybe five months of shooting." However, the two ended up...

The Vampire Diaries concluded back in 2017, and while the show's conclusion was all about Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), it was not always that way.
All the way back in 2009 when The CW drama debuted, it was about the relationship between Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) and Elena.
If you watch The Vampire Diaries online, you know that Stelena's chemistry was off the charts during those early days of the hit drama.
Dobrev, however, has now admitted that she and Wesley were not always fond of one another and that they "despised each other" during the show's earlier days.

If you're still sad about the end of The Vampire Diaries, this minireunion should brighten your day. On Tuesday, Nina Dobrev had the support of her former costars as she celebrated her September cover of Harper's Bazaar at an event in La. Aside from posing with Kayla Ewell (Vicky) and her onscreen best friend Kat Graham (Bonnie), she also snapped a few photos with Claire Holt and Danielle Campbell, who star in the show's spinoff The Originals. Following her initial departure from Tvd after season six, Nina told the magazine she was absolutely terrified to leave, but her fear drove her even more. Even though these ladies won't be playing supernatural beings anytime soon, we are happy to see that their friendship is alive and well (pun intended).
