This year marks the 30th anniversary of Steven Spielberg's modern classic blockbuster "Jurassic Park." In honor of the milestone anniversary, Universal will be celebrating the original dinosaur adventure all year long, including a bunch of new merchandise for fans to collect.
Perhaps the most exciting reveal so far is a batch of new "Jurassic Park" Lego sets that finally deliver perfectly sized building brick versions of the Jurassic Park Jeep and Ford Explorer from the doomed theme park. But of course, it wouldn't be a proper "Jurassic Park" Lego collection without a batch of dinosaurs and minifigures for all the important characters from the beloved movie. There are also crucial details for fans to enjoy, such as the Barbasol shaving cream can be used to smuggle dinosaur DNA and the "one big pile of s***" that Ian Malcolm wryly comments upon while checking on a sick Triceratops.

When it comes to mainstream American cinema, is there a more prominent or influential name than Steven Spielberg? For over 50 years the filmmaker with the iconic beard has made hits of almost everything he's put his name to. From groundbreaking modern classics like "Raiders of the Lost Ark," "E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial" and "Jurassic Park," to producing nostalgic mega-hits like "Back To The Future," "Gremlins" and "The Goonies," Spielberg could arguably be labeled as one of the chief architects of modern pop-culture as we know it.
Rose-tinted glasses aside, this iconic moviemaker has also helped push the boundaries of what a big-screen adventure can look like and the technical scale at which they are told. Spielberg's extensive body of work has emerged with a baked-in ability to withstand the test of time, all while serving as many a future cinephile's wholesome first steps into the illustrious, varied, and dazzling world of movies at large.

Recently, the sixth entry in the Jurassic saga, Dominion, saw Chris Pratt, Isabella Sermon, and Bryce Dallas Howard team up with original cast members Laura Dern (Ellie Sattler), Jeff Goldblum (Ian Malcolm), and Sam Neil (Alan Grant). Newcomers DeWanda Wise (Kayla Watts), Mamoudou Athie (Ramsay Cole), and Omar Sy (Barry Sembene) had essential roles in the action/adventure feature as well. Dominion was being billed as the final film. It picks up four years after Isla Nublar was destroyed; dinosaurs and humans live together, which ultimately spells disaster for humanity when these apex predators go out of control. I remember how perfectly John Williams’ lush score for 1993’s Jurassic Park set the stage for what was to follow. That film was imaginative, funny, scary, and filled with interesting doings. Since then, every sequel has paled in comparison, lifting bits and pieces of the memorable theme and elements from the first film. What filled in the large gaps were just…more. More dinosaurs. More chases. More corporate stupidity. What was a noble, yet misguided plan was undermined by corporate greed, a theme that was exhausted by the time Wayne Knight was devoured.
The Jurassic World reboot with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard was entertaining enough and the CGI improved so we could see more nuance among the species that were now becoming a global ecological threat. Add in some genetic shenanigans with the arrival of Maisie Lockwood (Isabella Sermon), you have some new tones to play with.

To say that "Jurassic World Dominion" was a divisive entry in the "Jurassic Park" franchise would be an understatement. One can argue that it does both great and terrible things in equal measures; what might be groan-inducing to one person might be worthy of cheers for another. Whether or not you believed that "Jurassic World Dominion" was a worthy addition to the "Jurassic Park" franchise, there's no denying that it was a global box office success. Grossing more than 876 million dollars worldwide, it's clear that general audiences are still extremely interested in dinosaurs, especially those wrangled up by Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, Owen...

Cinema, since its earliest formation, has been the ultimate special effect. The illusion of the wildest fantasies or closest realities, being all around us. And in 1993, when Stephen Spielberg’s Jurassic Park walked with dinosaurs, the ultimate effect was achieved. Much like the late great Richard Attenborough’s well meaning but misguided John Hammond, Spielberg in adapting Michael Crichton’s novel, wanted to give us something that wasn’t an illusion. Something that was real. Something we could see, and almost touch. Even all these years on, in the dawn of advancing CGI, that film’s blend of practical and new age computer generated technology, remains spellbinding, but equally as importantly, so too do its characters and it’s, ever more meaningful, story.

Jurassic Park fans were thrilled to hear that Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum will be reprising their roles in director Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World 3. I honestly didn’t think we’d ever seen these characters together again, but it’s happening and I’m excited to see how they will be utilized in the story.
Jeff Goldblum has since reacted to the news, and he expressed his excitement on Instagram saying, “You did it. You crazy son of a bitch, you did it.” Happy as a clam-asaurus to be reunited with my brilliant costars from the original Jurassic Park @lauradernand @samneilltheprop for the next installment of @jurassicworld...coming soon.”
It really is the perfect response to the news, don’t you think? The post also came along with the following photo fro the original film:

We’ve got some big and exciting casting news to share with you for Jurassic World 3. Original franchise stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum are returning to reprise their roles as Dr. Allan Grant, Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Dr. Ian Malcom.
The big casting news was announced by director Colin Trevorrow during a special Jurassic World screening at the Arclight in Hollywood on Tuesday night. They will join Chris Pratt who will be back as Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing.
We don’t have any details on the story for Jurassic World 3, but it will involve dinosaurs running amok on the mainland. With that happening, It completely makes sense to bring the original cast back to help figure out how to handle the situation. There’s no word on how big of a role they will play in the upcoming sequel, but hopefully,...

Chances are that you’ve already seen Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park. First released in 1993, where it broke box office records, won just about every technical award going, and spawned two (soon to be three?) sequels, the film was restored and re-released only last year where it once again drew out and delighted audiences in droves.
The story, as ever, sees paleontologist Allan Grant (Sam Neill) and paleobotanist Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) invited to accompany John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) out to an island he owns off the coast of Costa Rica. There they join lawyer Donald Gennaro (Martin Ferrero) and mathematician Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), in addition to John’s grandchildren Tim (Joseph Mazzello) and Lex (Ariana Richards), on a tour of Jurassic Park, where scientists have actually managed to clone dinosaurs. When a tropical storm threatens the island, however, a disgruntled employee seizes the chance to sabotage its systems,...

We hold in our hands the covers for DC Comics this March. As a child of four can plainly see, these comics have been hermetically sealed in a Cgc 9.8 slab, and they’ve been kept in a #2 mayonnaise jar under a giant pile of Christmas tinsel since noon today.
What do we have worth noting? The first fill-in artist on Justice League, although Gene Ha is certainly no slouch in that department. We also have new writers on Firestorm and Green Arrow, new backups in Justice League and Action Comics, and the DC 52 hits lucky number 7.
Shall we see who is the fariest of them all? Oh indeedy, let’s do!
As usual, spoilers may lurk beyond this point.

You may have noticed I'm Mad Men crazy this week. I'm just trying to cram it in before Sunday's premiere. I'll calm down Monday.
I'm so excited I'm about to grab one of the T-Shirts from the Mad Men shop on CafePress. I'm already having trouble choosing but they made it easier for me by denying me some of the designs in men's sizes. Excuse me but what if I want a "Mark Your Man" t-shirt with lipstick prints all over it? I mean, I might. I have been known to embrace the girlie. I think I might go for the "Who's For Dinner?" shirt because I love Ken Cosgrove (Aaron Staton). Nobody else loves Ken but I do not care. I will read any short story he wants me to.
Anyway CafePress is very excited about the premiere on Sunday as evidenced by this Mad Men blog post with...
