- Her papers are bequeathed to the Royal Library in Copenhagen, the city where her life as a woman began.
- On December 1, 1952, readers of the New York Daily News were introduced to Christine with the banner headline: "Ex-GI becomes blonde beauty: Operations transform Bronx youth." A few weeks later, Christine arrived home from Denmark to a media sensation and broke the record for the largest crowd at Idlewild (now JFK) airport.
- Christine named herself after the Danish endocrinologist Dr. Christian Hamburger, who worked with her throughout her transition.
