Prime Video continues to expand its game show output, announcing two more new shows on Tuesday at Amazon’s upfronts presentation: “Buy It Now,” hosted by Jb Smoove (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) and the holiday-themed event “Wish List Games” hosted by Nick Cannon (“The Masked Singer”). Both feature tie ins to Amazon’s shopping portals.
“Buy It Now” and “Wish List Games” comes on top of “Pop Culture Jeopardy!” (also announced on Tuesday) and the upcoming “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” hosted by Travis Kelce. Prime Video also has “Beast Games,” “The Goat” (from Elon Gale and Lee Eisenberg) and “The 1% Club.”

Amazon is stacking up its unscripted orders.
The streaming service has ordered two new nonscripted series; it has ordered a U.S. version of British format Buy It Now hosted by Curb Your Enthusiasm star Jb Smoove and Nick Cannon is hosting holiday event Wish List Games.
Elsewhere, it has added names to Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?, hosted by Travis Kelce.
This comes after the streamer ordered Pop Culture Jeopardy!, a spinoff of the iconic gameshow.
Amazon has largely struggled in the unscripted world and has had few breakouts so is evidently trying to bolster its slate.
Buy It Now comes from The Traitors producer Studio Lambert and is based on a Channel 4 daytime format that seasoned and budding entrepreneurs try to win a place in the Buy It Now store featured on both Amazon.com and within the Prime app.

Amazon Prime Video has officially ordered a 20-episode season of “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” from MGM Alternative, the streamer announced Tuesday. As previously reported by Variety, the “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” spinoff will be hosted by Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
“I grew up loving game shows, and I’m excited to be following in the footsteps of so many TV icons by hosting my very first one with ‘Are you Smarter than a Celebrity?’,” Kelce said. “The original show is a great success, so to be bringing a new format with everyone’s favorite celebrities to the screen, will definitely be entertaining. I’m just happy to be on the hosting side of the equation here and excited to see how these famous faces keep up.”

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man films have been huge successes and have resonated with audiences in a very big way. All his solo films in the MCU have built up the character’s maturity through the events and tragedies that he comes across. By the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the character has evolved vastly since his introduction in Captain America: Civil War.
Tom Holland starred in three solo Spider-Man films starting with 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming
A fourth Spider-Man film is currently in development and fans are looking forward to where they carry forward the character in the multiversal era. Steve McQueen Erases Al Jolson’s Blackface in New Film at L.A.’s Newly Opened Marian Goodman Gallery
Long-time New York and Paris gallery Marian Goodman has opened in Los Angeles with a show of director and artist Steve McQueen’s short film, Sunshine State. Shown on two back-to-back screens in a capacious room, the work finds McQueen training his artistic vision on the history of blackface in Hollywood. The 30-minute piece includes footage of the late actor Al Jolson in blackface in the 1927 film The Jazz Singer, considered the first feature-length movie with synchronized dialogue and the winner of an Academy Award for best adapted screenplay.
McQueen included the scenes from The Jazz Singer in Sunshine State after the movie’s copyright expired on Jan. 1, 2023. “It’s been about 20 years that I’ve wanted to work with this material,” McQueen told AnOther Magazine at International Film Festival Rotterdam where Sunshine State premiered in January. “I wanted to work with it because I wanted to erase Al Jolson.

Tory Lanez has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after he was found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion.
During Lanez’s sentencing, Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta read a statement from Megan: “Since I was viciously shot by the defendant, I have not experienced a single day of peace. Slowly but surely, I’m healing and coming back, but I will never be the same.” She said she did not attend the sentencing to read her statement in person because she “simply could not bring myself to be in a room with Tory again.”
On December 23rd, 2022, a jury found Lanez guilty on three counts: assault with a semiautomatic handgun, carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on July 12th, 2020, during an argument between Lanez and Megan; Lanez reportedly shouted,...

“This was a sex club called The Zone. So a lot of good vibes in here,” says Lisson Gallery CEO Alex Logsdail, as he gives a tour of Lisson’s newly opened space in Los Angeles’ ever-growing Sycamore District, the globe-spanning art business’ first outpost on the West Coast.
Lisson found the location after The Zone, which catered to gay and bisexual men in L.A., closed in 2020. Its transformation into a high-gloss art gallery fits into the larger conversion of the neighborhood where it’s located, which Wwd has called “L.A.’s newest luxury retail destination” and the L.A. Times has called “L.A.’s coolest new neighborhood.” The area’s one-time warehouses and industrial shops have in the last few years been renovated to become buzzy retail shops, restaurants and art galleries, including Jeffrey Deitch, Gaga & Reena Spaulings and Carpenters Workshop.

Movie star John Wayne had dedicated fans who hated seeing any deaths surrounding the characters he played. He held an image that represented America to many moviegoers, making it hard for some to stomach watching his characters die. Nevertheless, Wayne had 8 character deaths out of his large filmography totaling over 200 motion pictures, not including 1955’s The Sea Chase, which left his character’s fate unknown.

Sean Kelly, one of the earliest and most brazen National Lampoon writers whose lyrics for the influential 1973 Off Broadway revue National Lampoon’s Lemmings helped launch the careers of John Belushi, Christopher Guest and Chevy Chase, died July 11 in New York City of heart and renal failure. He was 81.
His death was announced by wife Patricia Todd to The New York Times.
A New York Drama Desk Award winner for Most Promising Lyricist following the 1973 Off Broadway debut of Lemmings, Kelly, at the time, specialized in song parodies, a skill that would make a considerable contribution to the revue’s notorious parody of Woodstock. The Lemmings satire of the festival featured such soon-to-be-stars as Chase and Guest impersonating, among others, John Denver and Bob Dylan (respectively).

“It’s anybody’s game,” said Dmitry Sholokhov at the beginning of the “Project Runway All Stars” season finale. He had won the show twice before and was going for an unprecedented three-peat, but this season of “All Stars” featured nothing but past champions, so he was up against fellow Us winners Michelle Lesniak and Irina Shabayeva as well as Canadian “Runway” victor Evan Biddell. Who was named the “Runway” world champion at the end of the night?
The episode got off to an exciting start with the announcement of the final challenge. After weeks of unique, innovative and highly specific design tasks that ran the gamut from airplane materials to Willy Wonka inventions, the designers had no rules at all for their finale collections. Their mission was to take four days and a $3,000 budget to create six-look collections inspired by whatever theme they wanted. Essentially, their design objective could...

Rachel Zoe is returning to television.
The stylist and fashion designer is set to executive-produce a new fashion design competition show for MGM Television.
Per the studio, the untitled project will see undiscovered designers “work together to create original designs, bringing completely new and unique looks to the runway.” The winning designs will be made available online immediately following each episode.
Zoe will executive produce the show alongside MGM Television chairman Mark Burnett, Barry Poznick and format creators Sean Kelly and Steve Hughes of Shaggy Entertainment.
The news comes just days after MGM announced it had enlisted “Fast and Furious” star Tyrese Gibson for a celebrity car racing series. Like Gibson’s show, Zoe’s fashion design competition does not yet have a network attached.

“Project Runway All Stars” season seven is heating up — literally. In episode 10 of the fashion competition, “Climate Quick Change,” the remaining designers had to create convertible resort-wear that could transition from one climate to another, with Tony-winning actress Cynthia Erivo and fashion designer Reem Acra on hand as guest judges. So who had the hottest looks, and who was left out in the cold? Find out below in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute updates as they happen.

After Dmitry Sholokhov won the first design challenge on “Project Runway All Stars” season seven he quickly became our front-runner to win the whole competition, and for good reason. Sholokhov has never lost. He previously won season 10 of the main “Runway” series and then season 4 of “All Stars.” Even low scores are almost unheard of for the dominant designer. But is he at risk of being eliminated from “Runway” for the first time ever? Our users think so.
Based on the combined predictions of our users as of this writing, Sholokhov is the likeliest to be eliminated from episode 10 tonight with leading odds of 27/10. But how could that be if he has historically been so rock-solid? Well, he’s coming off what was arguably his worst week in “Runway” history. Sean Kelly just couldn’t get it together on “Project Runway All Stars.” He won the red carpet design challenge in “Pedal to the Metal,” but that turned out to be a rare triumph for him. The remaining six designers were thrown for a bit of a loop on Wednesday’s episode of Project Runway All Stars, which required them to think a little differently about gender and fashion.

“Project Runway” focuses predominantly on women’s fashion, but episode nine of “All Stars” season seven flipped the script. The field has been cut in half on “Project Runway All Stars” this season, and the judges seem to have very carefully curated their top seven. Eight designers remained going into episode eight of “Project Runway All Stars.” After dealing with unconventional materials, corsets, zoo animals and more, the designers had to make fashionable evening looks out of — gasp! — daytime separates. Which designers achieved the best day-to-night transformations in “Penneys from Heaven,” and whose looks belonged in the bargain bin? Find out below in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.
Every single “All Stars” contestant this season is a past “Runway” champion. The playing field is so level that six out of the eight remaining designers won a design challenge in the first seven episodes. The only contestant who won twice up to this point was Anthony Ryan Auld, who had the best graduation look in “Top of the Class” and then prevailed again last week in “Pure Imagination.” Dmitry Sholokhov, Irina Shabayeva, Christina Exie, Michelle Lesniak and Sean Kelly also won challenges.

Django Steenbakker‘s elimination from “Project Runway All Stars” was a long time coming. He spent three weeks in a row in the judges’ bottom three, but the avant garde challenge in “Pure Imagination” was the last straw. Did he really deserve to be sent home instead of Sean Kelly, who was convinced he would be axed after he had to scrap an idea and start over mid-challenge. Scroll down to vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.
The avant garde challenge this week was inspired by “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” It was the two-time Tony-winning star of that Broadway musical Christian Borle who told the top nine designers that they had to create a new fashion invention for their bold designs. But Steenbakker struggled with both directives. He seemed to think inventing was fundamentally inconsistent with being a designer. And he appeared not to...

An avant-garde challenge on Wednesday’s episode of Project Runway All Stars revealed which of the remaining designers have pure imagination… and which may not have any at all.
Following a trip to Broadway’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: The Musical, the nine contestants were tasked with using their imagination to “invent something never seen before in fashion. It could be a practical but surprising use for a garment, an unexpected innovation, or an inventive way to wear something new.” (And to give you an idea of how long ago this episode must have been filmed, Charlie ended its run in Jan.

“What we’ll see will defy explanation.” Those lyrics from “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” couldn’t have been more fitting on “Project Runway All Stars.” In episode seven, “Pure Imagination,” the designers embarked on this season’s avant garde challenge. So who got the judges’ golden ticket, and who was booted from this factory tour? Scroll down for our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.
The avant garde challenge has always been an opportunity for designers to let their freak flags fly, but they had better fly high, especially this season. In the first six weeks of the competition the judges saw some wild, unflattering designs, but they have often been harder on contestants who created bland, uninspired looks (like Juli Grbac) than those who took big swings and missed (like three-time low-scorer Django Steenbakker). And when it comes to avant garde fashion, there’s nothing worse than boring.

MGM Television has extended its overall deal with Sean Kelly and Steve Hughes and their Shaggy Entertainment through 2020. It renews the pact they inked in 2017. Since then they created and executive produced CBS’ competition series Tko: Total Knock Out with Kevin Hart and have set up projects at both Epix and Discovery.
The pair have worked together since both were at Fox TV Studios, then spent two years as a team under an overall deal at Wilshire Studios, where they sold over several projects and consulted at Lifetime, Syfy, USA, E!, TLC and Food Network. Their past credits include Minute to Win It, Big Brother, Biggest Loser, Wipeout, Red Neck Island, American Bible Challenge, Idiot Test and It Takes A Church.

Anya Ayoung-Chee warned us in the season premiere of ‘Project Runway All Stars” that sewing wasn’t her strong suit. She was almost eliminated from the show on that very first challenge. But then she seemed to get along just fine, earning safe scores from the judges every week thereafter … until now. In episode six, “Pedal to the Metal,” the rubber finally met the road and she couldn’t drape her way out of it, even with ample assistance from her fellow designers. Did she really deserve to go? Scroll down to vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.
Ayoung-Chee’s strength was in flowing looks, so she knew she was in trouble as soon as the challenge was announced: to create a red carpet look with metallic fabric. The problem was that a metallic fabric wouldn’t work with her usual aesthetic, so it exposed her biggest weakness as a designer.

In what has been an especially turbulent season of “Project Runway All Stars,” Sean Kelly is the latest to go from worst to first. He was a surprise addition to the show at the end of the season premiere episode, and it’s been a tumultuous run for him. He landed in the bottom two just last week in “On the Prowl,” but he immediately bounced back from that scare and got his first win of the season in “Pedal to the Metal.” This is the third time that has happened already this season.
Anthony Ryan Auld was in the bottom two in the very first episode as he had been reeling from the recent death of his grandmother. But the judges kept him around and he won the very next week in “Top of the Class,” in which he designed a sporty graduation party look.

A metal-themed challenge on Wednesday’s episode of Project Runway All Stars took one designer a little too far out of her element. The remaining 10 contestants were instructed to create an “elegant red carpet carpet look using metallics,” one that also includes a “unique texture.”
For the most part, the designers seemed pretty confident going into this challenge — perhaps too confident. Michelle Lesniak, who prides herself on her work with metallics, was the first to brag, declaring this the “sparkle dazzle challenge.” Irina Shabayeva, meanwhile, gave us a full rundown of the stars she’s dressed on red carpets: Carrie Underwood,...

The “Project Runway All Stars” contestants put the “Pedal to the Metal” in episode six. The 10 remaining designers used metallic fabrics and unique textures to create red carpet looks that they hoped would please the guest judges: talk show host Wendy Williams, Victoria’s Secret model Lily Aldridge and race car driver Danica Patrick. So who drove the judges wild, and who had their fashion license revoked? Scroll down for our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.

Another one bites the dust on “Project Runway All Stars.” Juli Grbac was the latest international contestant to be deported from the show this season, which pits American “Runway” champs against the winners of foreign spin-offs. So far three out of the four eliminations were of designers who came from abroad. Did the Australian Grbac really deserve to be ousted at the end of the “On the Prowl” design challenge? Vote in our poll at the bottom of this post to let us know.
Grbac wasn’t revealed as a contestant on the show until the end of the season premiere, so her competition didn’t start until week two. But maybe she could have used another week to settle in because she never wowed the judges during her four weeks in contention. She finished in the bottom two in the unconventional materials challenge by delivering a look that the...

“How much nipple is too much nipple?” These and other important questions were tackled on Wednesday’s episode of Project Runway All Stars, which sent the remaining 11 designers to New Jersey’s Turtleback Zoo for an inspirational walk on the wild side.
With a hissing snake draped on her shoulders, Britney Spears-style, host Alyssa Milano announced that the contestants needed to “create a runway look to attract the most attention on a wild night out.” The designers could each choose one animal from the zoo (first come first serve!), incorporating all of that creature’s characteristics — not just the...

The “Project Runway All Stars” contestants this season designed looks inspired by national heritage, corsets and even airplane parts, but in episode five the show went to the dogs — or maybe the zebras, the elephants, or the gorillas. In “On the Prowl,” the remaining 11 competitors took their inspiration from zoo animals. So who won the challenge, and who went on the endangered species list? Scroll down for our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.
The international contestants got off to a slow start in this all-champions edition that pits winners of the American “Runway” against winners of the show’s foreign spin-offs. In the first four weeks of competition, three challenges were won by American champs: Dmitri Sholokhov in “All Stars Goes Global,” Anthony Ryan Auld in “Top of the Class” and Irina Shabayeva in “Buckle Up!” And two of the first three eliminations were contestants from abroad.

Almost everyone in this champions edition of “Project Runway All Stars” has had ups and downs in the first four episodes of the competition. From week to week you can’t count on anyone being safe. But so far there have been three designers who have escaped the judges wrath: Evan Biddell, Dmitry Sholokhov and Michelle Lesniak. Is one of them the front-runner to win?
The champions in this season’s cast come from the American iterations of “Runway” as well as its international spin-offs. Sholokhov won two American seasons: “Runway” season 10 and “All-Stars” season 4. Lesniak won American “Runway” season 11. And Biddell represents our neighbor to the north: he won Canadian “Runway” season 1.

Biddell’s only high score of the season so far actually came for a design in which he paid tribute to his Canadian heritage, creating a look with a Mountie motif.

It’s corsets, of course! One week after the “Project Runway All Stars” season seven contestants tackled their unconventional materials challenge in “Buckle Up!” they got another unconventional challenge of sorts. In “Of Corsets Fashion” the 12 remaining designers turned underwear into outwear by making runway looks out of corsets. Who cinched up a win, and who wore out their welcome? Scroll down for our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.
Last week’s “Buckle Up” challenge ended in the surprising elimination of Seth Aaron Henderson in 13th place. Every “All Stars” contestant this season is a past winner, but Henderson was undefeated, winning both of the seasons he previously competed in. The fact that he could be ejected so soon means no one is safe in this competition.

I’ve had it with these monkey-fighting unconventional challenges on this Monday-to-Friday plane!
It’s only week three of “Project Runway All Stars,” but it’s already time for an unconventional materials challenge, in which the contestants will design for the friendly skies. But “Buckle Up!” should be no sweat for a cast full of past “Runway” champions, right? Find out below in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.
Last week’s “Top of the Class” challenge ended with the elimination of Canadian “Runway” champ Sunny Fong, leaving 13 contestants in the running for the world title. Dmitry Sholokhov won the season premiere challenge, and then Anthony Ryan Auld recovered from his rough start by winning in “Class.” That means the American “Runway” champs are two-for-two, while the international winners are aiming to strike back.

Well that was fast. After winning the design challenge in the season seven premiere of “Project Runway All Stars,” undefeated design dynamo Dmitry Sholokhov shot to the top of our winner predictions. But at the end of that premiere Sean Kelly was added to the show’s lineup in a surprise twist, and it only took him a week to rise to the top. Now Kelly is in pole position, according to the Gold Derby users currently predicting “All Stars.”
Kelly now gets leading odds of 46/25. He previously won season 13 of the original “Runway” series, and this is his first appearance on “All Stars,” but even though he showed up a week late he wasted no time getting on the judges’ good side. In “Top of the Class” the designers were tasked with creating a high-class look for a graduation party in two colors. Kelly made unique use of feathers...
