Wayne Brady is known for his wacky and sometimes wild improv segments on Whose Line Is It Anyway?, which often helps him at other gigs.
One of those other gigs is the popular game show Let’s Make a Deal, which has Brady as the host.
He recently experienced a bizarre exchange with a contestant on the show who said she would “slap” him.
Brady was asking for it, though, as he said he wanted to try some “choreography” with the woman.
The result was the woman telling him, “I’m so sorry,” and Brady acted like he was in pain.
The recent game show highlight arrived after a Drew Carey highlight from The Price Is Right featured him accidentally slapping a contestant’s face.
Let’s Make a Deal contestant asked Brady, ‘Do you want to fight me?’

Boys II Men’s Shawn Stockman is back on Let’s Make a Deal in the Thursday, April 28 episode, and TV Insider has an exclusive sneak peek of him singing — but he’s not alone! With a contestant facing a decision, host Wayne Brady comes up with a solution. “Well, Shawn can give you the mini curtain all he wants. I’m still going to stick with my small box,” he says. “So I’ll tell you what: Why don’t you give me a chance to at least plead my case?” Announcer Jonathan Mangum is the one to suggest they battle, and Stockman agrees, as does Brady, pointing out “Boys II Men set the groundwork for so much.” After model Tiffany Coyne shows them each what they’re singing about — what’s behind the mini curtain and what’s in the small box — the two face off in a song battle.

Let’s Make a Deal is partnering with Stand Up 2 Cancer for the upcoming Breast Cancer Awareness Special on Monday, October 4, and TV Insider has an exclusive sneak peek of host Wayne Brady acting out a scene that should be a bit familiar to him for a contestant. The Bold and the Beautiful actor is joined by special guest, actress, and SU2C ambassador Alison Sweeney (Days of Our Lives) to act out a soap opera scene as a clue for Kristie. “Pay close attention to the scene that we do,” Brady says the contestant before turning to announcer Jonathan Mangum. “Can you give us something to base this scene on?” He suggests a holiday. After they move over to the stage for their performance, all that’s left is to have a little “daytime drama theme music” playing and to get a name for the soap opera. Then, after...

Exclusive: The Profit host and Camping World boss Marcus Lemonis and Glass Entertainment founder Nancy Glass have acquired the underlying IP to classic format Let’s Make a Deal.
The pair have teamed to acquire all assets from Hatos-Hall Productions, which includes the daytime game show as well as other game shows such as 1970s ABC hit Split Second.
It is a major move involving one of the best-known game shows. The deal will not affect the show’s airing on CBS, where it has run since 2009, but will mean that producer Fremantle now licenses it from Lemonis and Glass.
Lemonis and Glass, who have worked together on the One Hundred Percent with Marcus Lemonis podcast and HGTV’s upcoming The Renovator, will exploit the format in a variety of ways including through partnerships as well as international format distribution for live and touring shows.

The points still don't count but the episodes keep piling up. The CW has quietly renewed the venerable Whose Line Is It Anyway? TV series for an 18th season (the ninth season on CW).
Whose Line Is It Anyway? is hosted by Aisha Tyler and each episode typically features Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady, Colin Mochrie, and a guest performer. The foursome tests their comedic reflexes by participating in a series of spontaneous improv games. After each round, Aisha will dole out points to the performers and declare a winner at the end of every episode (not that the points matter). Guests in season 17 (the ninth on The CW) include Jeff Davis, Jonathan Mangum, and Gary Anthony Williams.

Exclusive: Let’s Make A Deal is the latest long-running daytime gameshow returning to production.
The show, which has aired on CBS since its latest revival began in 2009, is back in the studio from today and is returning with a mix of virtual and in-person contestants.
This comes as the network sets three primetime specials for the show – the first since its move to CBS.
The show was originally planned to shoot its 12th season from the end of May through August, but was shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It put together around 40 online at-home episodes, Let’s Make A Deal: At Home, with simple, quick games.
But while they were making those Zoom-based shows, which featured host Wayne Brady as well as announcer Jonathan Mangum, exec producer John Quinn was working on a plan to bring it back to the studio.

"People deal with the loss of a loved one in a lot of ways..." The first official trailer has debuted for an indie revenge drama titled A Patient Man, marking the feature directorial debut of veteran editor Kevin Ward. Tom has been in a terrible car accident. After four months of recovering from his injuries, he starts the long process of putting his life back together again. And also begins planning revenge on the person responsible. It's pretty obvious from the trailer what's going on, so it's not really a spoiler or anything, but this does look like a tricky setup for a film to make you wonder what's really happening. Jonathan Mangum stars with Tate Ellington, plus a small cast including Kelsey Scott, David Jahn, Elaine Loh, and Amir Talai. This looks like a low key psychological drama that may be worth a watch. I also dig the minimalistic poster.

Talk shows and improv comedy collide in "Trust Us With Your Life," an unconventional ABC summer series premiering Tuesday, July 10.
In each episode, host Fred Willard interviews a celebrity about his life and, at intervals, turns to the show's group of improv comics to act out the moment the star has just described.
"Fred turns to us and, with some sort of game element to it, has us improvise on what we have just heard - and it can get really interesting," explains Colin Mochrie, the Scottish-Canadian comic and actor who appears in each episode along with Wayne Brady and Jonathan Mangum as well as some guest performers. "Jerry Springer started off talking about his grandparents who, I believe, were lost in the Holocaust. That's not really sidesplitting improv info, but it definitely kept it interesting for us."
Other celebrity guests include Ricky Gervais, Florence Henderson, David Hasselhoff, Jack and Kelly Osbourne,...

The film, directed by David Worth (The Man with the Screaming Brian), stars James Oliver (Our Fathers, Rescue Dawn), Angela Jones (Pulp Fiction), Jonathan Mangum (Raising Helen, The Bucket List), and Alison Raimondi (Club Dread), co-starring Jessica Szohr ("Gossip Girl") with a special guest appearance by Lance Henriksen (Aliens, Pumpkinhead, Near Dark).
The film is a part-fact/part-fiction story based on producer David Oman's experiences living in one of America's most haunted houses, which sits right down the drive from where the Manson Family murders took place 43 years ago. Sound interesting? You bet it does. Check out a few exclusive...

ABC announced their summer offering schedule, though the big kick is coming as early May 14th with The Bachelorette. New and returning shows are likely to get a fair amount of marketing love, as summer programming, especially with the influx of cable hotlist shows, has taken off over the last few years.

8:00-10:00 p.m. “Duets” (series premiere) 10:00-11:00 p.m. “Rookie Blue”
Sunday, June 3:

Thursday, June 28:

Tuesday, July 10:

"This breakout horror comedy centers around a fallen soldier who somehow finds he has joined the ranks of the living dead. Bart Gregory (Anders) has just recently been laid to rest - so why is he still up and walking around? The only person Bart can turn to for answers is his best friend Joey (Wylde), and before long the two pals have surmised that the blood is the life. Wayne Brady had a good laugh at his own expense Tuesday on 'Let's Make a Deal' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS). It all started when announcer Jonathan Mangum read an absurd fictional passage from Brady's "diary" that included a note about him "breaking a nail while jazzercising in the East Wing," and rubbing his fingers in Jamiroquai's porridge.
Brady doubled over in laughter listening to the bit as soft piano music played. "It's that jazzercise getting to you, isn't it," Mangum quipped. Brady took about 20 seconds to compose himself, and when he finally stopped laughing, couldn't really string a sentence together and blanked on what the clue was.

Filmed at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, "Drew Carey's Improv-a-Ganza" features a solid troupe of actors and comics led by Drew Carey in a raucous and never the same instant improv stage show, direct by the audience. Earlier in the show's taping, a week after the big "Two and Half Men" meltdown, actor Charlie Sheen's impromptu appearance on Gsn's new series shocked even Drew Carey, who was not expecting him. The genius improv skills of Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, Greg Proops, Jonathan Mangum, Kathy Kinney and Jeff Davis combine with Carey's knack for making the most ordinary thing in life a hilarious venture, as Gsn.s original new upcoming series "Drew Carey.s Improv-a-Ganza" will absolutely become a family favorite.

Drew Carey and crew from his new Gsn show, "Improv-a-ganza" try to figure out what words they can and can not use on the show:

If you've missed Whose Line Is It Anyway?, you probably already know about Drew Carey's Improv-a-Ganza. Another run at an improv show, many of your favorites from Whose Line? return to take a shot at cracking you up. Taped live at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the show premieres Monday, April 11th at 8pm on Gsn.
You are definitely going to want to clear your schedule for this one. Carey brings back some of the funniest people you'll ever want to see, including: the always brilliant Ryan Stiles (sorry, he's my favorite), the never shy about his hair Colin Mochrie, and the recently of much younger television Greg Proops.
A fan of Whose Line? since the original, British version, I'm quite excited to see not only the familiar faces, but any incarnation of improv, and this one is going to be good. In case you needed...

There's no doubt that Wayne Brady is quick on his feet, but what I found out when I spoke to the 'Let's Make a Deal' host earlier this month was that he's also quick to make sure his career isn't pigeonholed.
Mention that an improvised rap he did on the CBS daytime game show reminds you of one he did on Drew Carey's version of 'Whose Line Is It, Anyway?' and he'll take pains to mention that he's been honing these skills in his stage show and elsewhere for years. Ask how the chemistry between him and announcer Jonathan Mangum came about and he'll make sure to tell you that the two of them have been performing together for close to two decades.

It seems like only yesterday that Wayne Brady took over as host of the CBS game show 'Let's Make A Deal.' Ok, maybe the day before yesterday, but still, he hasn't been host of the show long. Now he's talking about not staying with the show too much longer.
In an interview at Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith's site, Brady says he doesn't want to become the "king of the game shows," he wants to stick with acting and music. Brady also hosted 'Don't Forget The Lyrics!' on Fox.
That would be too bad. Brady is a fine game show host: personable, quick-witted, wants the contestants to win, and he has a great rapport with announcer Jonathan Mangum. But if Brady is going to leave the show in the next season or two, who could replace him? Some suggestions after the jump!
