Saying goodbye to "Succession" was a struggle for the fans, but it wasn't any easier for the show's all-star cast. Luckily for them, they were able to snag some mementos from the set before they had to part with their beloved characters for good. Sarah Snook, whose performance as Shiv earned her an Emmy nomination, was not shy about grabbing some sentimental items from the prop closet — as well as her character's incredibly chic wardrobe. As it turns out, she wasn't the only cast member who took a few things with them. But the question remains, what exactly did Snook take to remember Shiv by?
"I took some costumes," she admitted to Variety. Snook also took some fictional photographic props, even though displaying them would have been strange in practice. As she said:
"I took some photos of Shiv on the wedding day with Dad. Which was sort of like,...

The good news for HBO’s critically acclaimed “The White Lotus” is that it grabbed 11 Emmy craft nominations, second only to HBO’s “The Last of Us,” which led with 12. The bad news for “The White Lotus,” which took home five craft wins last season, is that it switched from Best Anthology to Best Drama for Season 2’s transition from Hawaii to Sicily. Now it goes head to head with contemporary rivals “Succession” (HBO), “The Last of Us,” and “Wednesday” (Netflix).
To its credit, Mike White’s exotic resort hotel black comedy successfully pivoted from money to sex in Season 2 with pretty much a new ensemble cast. While its Emmy wins the first time out were primarily in the anthology category, it additionally won for de Veer’s main title theme music.

HBO’s “The Last of Us,” the acclaimed dystopian survival drama from showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, led all Emmys craft categories July 12 with 12 (the first TV Academy recognition for a live-action video game adaptation). Right behind was the streamer’s “The White Lotus” with 11 nominations. Mike White’s vacationing social satire relocated to Sicily and now competes for Best Drama Series after winning Best Anthology/Limited Series for its first season.
“The Mandalorian” followed with nine nominations, a sharp falloff for Season 3 after the Disney+ “Star Wars” juggernaut dominated its first two seasons with 15 and 17 noms, respectively. Also sharing nine noms were Netflix’s popular “Addams Family” spin-off “Wednesday” and the final seasons of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” (Prime) and “Ted Lasso” (Apple TV+), both up from the previous season.

Costume designer Michelle Matland didn’t necessarily “pre-grieve” the end of “Succession” like Roman Roy (Kieran Culkin) attempted to do with the death of his father, but she’s already feeling wistful about the show’s conclusion.
“I think the number one thing that I will miss – it makes me sad because I don’t know if I’ll have it again – is the collaboration,” Matland tells Gold Derby in an exclusive video interview conducted just days before the show’s series finale aired. “The idea that you have a voice, you have a brain, and these incredible talents all came together and listened, heard, thought, projected, gave information and took ideas and enjoyed the company of people who are interested in storytelling on so many levels. I know that’s the thing I’m going to miss. I missed it already.”

If you’ve been hearing as much buzz about Kendall Roy’s latest blazer on Succession as you have about his next schemes to keep Waystar Royco in the family, you may have caught on to TikTok’s latest fashion obsession — the minimalist, neutral-toned world of “quiet luxury”. Jeremy Strong's hardcore dedication to his "Succession" character is a well-tread territory, but his commitment to Kendall Roy's threads is often overlooked. The actor actually has quite a large hand in dressing the Murdoch-like media empire's failing-upwards-son. The intentional and occasionally flashy nature of Kendall's outfits is expertly matched to the character's various neuroses. The only person that puts more thought into Kendall's clothes than Kendall himself is the performer that plays him, and it shows — especially in episode 6 of the series' fourth and final season.
"Living+" is a series of nervous breakdowns, but Kendall's might be the biggest of all. With a new product launch happening in Hollywood, he seizes the opportunity to put on a show. Strong has to deliver a major monologue that cycles through a lot of different emotions — confidence, grief, pathetic stuttering — but the first thing that occurred to the actor was what...

Justine Lupe was at an afterparty at a “famous musician’s house” when she realized “Succession” was a hit. It was after the second season, and there had been an HBO event. The actress, who portrays escort-turned-fiancée Willa Ferreyra, was there with a few other “Succession” cast members.
“We were sitting in this little room and Nicholas Britell came in and started playing the music for the theme song and everyone at this party just went crazy,” Lupe said. “And they’re [in] uproarious excitement about hearing the song. And I just remember [thinking], ‘Whoa, I did not know that this was in the zeitgeist.’”
By now, everyone knows the opening tinkle of that discordant piano. The fourth and final season of the hit series about a family of absolutely awful people doing absolutely awful things is absolutely the drama of the moment. Fans obsess over the music and every little detail of the show.

The wonderful thing about fans is that, as unbiased onlookers, they often recognize patterns in the art they love before the actual artists can. Take, for example, the case of Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen) and “Cousin” Greg Hirsch (Nicholas Braun) on HBO’s award-winning dramedy Succession.
While the pair of Roy family outsiders initially tried to make their way into the dynasty’s good graces through its more established members, fans couldn’t help but notice that the two bit players had uncommonly good chemistry together. Thankfully, the show agreed and midway through Succession’s first season, the Tom and Greg pairing become one of the better unwitting comedy duos on television. I don’t know which Succession writer came up with the line “You can’t make a Tomlette without breaking a few Gregs” but I want to shake their hand until we both pass out from exhaustion.

Few shows in recent history have received as much attention simply for the clothes as “Succession.” The costuming on the show is indulgent, and impeccable; it arguably plays as big a role as the actors. Entire articles have been written about Shiv’s backless turtleneck — her clothes and her hair. The men on the show are no exception; each and every one of them is meticulously tailored and styled to tell us exactly who he is, and exactly who he wants to be. They are the perfect illustration of the immense precision, balance, and awareness of self that goes into being a well-dressed man; how everything from the width of a man’s tie knot to the cut of his jacket can make a critical difference in how he is seen.
