General Hospital (Gh) news shows that alum Johnny Wactor (Brando Corbin) was shot and killed in Los Angeles early Saturday morning by a thieve stealing the catalytic converter from his vehicle. He was 37 and reportedly stepped in front of a female coworker to protect her before he was shot.
The outpouring of love, shock, and grief by his friends and loved ones in the aftermath of this sickening crime reveals the depth of Johnny’s impact on the world in the short time he was here.
According to the police report, Johnny left his job at a rooftop bar and was walking his coworker to their cars when he came upon the men and believed them to be towing his vehicle. His mother Scarlett said that he did not confront or provoke the thieves, who have not been apprehended, and he was rushed to a hospital where he died.

The "Fast & Furious" franchise has taken quite the ride, growing from a modest "Point Break" riff to globe-trotting espionage, borderline superhero movies (with cars). Along the way, it left the laws of physics in the dust. There are currently 11 "Fast & Furious," the 10 mainline films plus the spin-off "Hobbs & Shaw" — or are there?
Director Justin Lin (who directed five of these eleven films) made himself a household name with 2002's "Better Luck Tomorrow." The film centers on four Asian-American high school students in Orange County, California: overachieving Ben (Parry Shen), his nerdy best friend Virgil (Jason Tobin), Virgil's cool cousin Han (Sung Kang), and valedictorian Daric (Roger Fan). Afflicted with ennui, the four begin committing petty crimes, which escalate to robbery and then murder — the victim is Steve (John Cho), boyfriend of Ben's crush Stephanie (Karin Anna Cheung).

It’s increasingly rare to be surprised by a new movie’s existence entirely, particularly when it’s connected to an established IP. Studios inundate audiences with advertising in an effort to remain at the forefront of their minds while fervent fans dig up every crumb of information from the second a project is announced, leaving precious little to the imagination by the time a film hits the screen.
Blair Witch‘s covert reveal, The Cloverfield Paradox‘s unannounced release, and Split‘s connection to Unbreakable are recent examples that, regardless of the reception to the films themselves, generated buzz thanks to the element of surprise. Five years ago, writer-director Adam Green pulled off a similar achievement with Victor Crowley, the fourth installment in his Hatchet franchise.

When the first trailer for ‘F9’ debuted in 2019, there was a collective gasp/squeal/scream among the “Fast” family when Sung Kang’s Han Lue made a surprise appearance at the clip’s end, with snack bag in hand.
Fans have been in a state of perpetual mourning since the ultra-cool (and always-hungry) character died midway through “The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift.” Of course, Han was then resurrected before, starring in the fourth, fifth and sixth installments of the franchise thanks to the reorganized timeline.
But audiences were in for a second round of devastation when, at the end of “Fast & Furious 6,” they learned that Han’s death was not a random accident, but instead orchestrated by Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) in a revenge plot against Dom’s crew.
So how is Han back for “F9”? And what does that mean for the future of the franchise?...

“Fast & Furious” director Justin Lin will executive produce and direct the untitled project co-created by Nick Wootton and Jake Coburn from Universal TV.
Per the logline, the pilot (which Wootton wrote) is a pulse-pounding, high-stakes two-hander about Elena Federova, a recently captured international arms dealer and brilliant criminal mastermind who orchestrates a number of coordinated bank heists throughout New York City for a mysterious purpose, and Val Fitzgerald, the principled, relentless and socially outcast FBI agent who will stop at nothing to foil her ambitious plan. The female-led drama was ordered in April for NBC’s 2021-2022 broadcast season, along with “Getaway” from writers and executive producers JJ Bailey and Moira Kirland.

Given that things are utterly bananas in the world right now, I think we’re all looking for places where we can get some comfort food, both of the literal and figurative variety. And when I think of comforting experiences in the horror genre, I think Caroline Williams. Ever since I first saw her play Vanita “Stretch” Brock in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, I’ve noticed that even her screams seem to have an element of laidback southern charm as all manner of gore and mayhem play out around her. She’s been a prolific presence on both the big and small screens since the ’80s, but she always manages to find her way back to the horror fold with turns in Stepfather II, Rob Zombie’s Halloween II, Leprechaun 3, and Verotika. So for this month’s movie, I’m going to combine her comforting screen presence with a film...

Automation is the first feature film from director Garo Setian. The film involves a prototype, robotic worker. At first, this metallic machine tries to fit in. But then, it is slated to be replaced and this worker will not be put into the trash heap. Automation stars: Parry Shen (Victor Crowley), Elissa Dowling (We Are Still Here), Graham Skipper (Sequence Break), Sarah French and Sadie Katz. Many of the actors play office employees in this horror comedy. Now, the film's official release details are available here. The film's trailer shows the robot moving material. It can brings people coffee and even offer a line or two. But, just like humans, this machine does not like to be replaced. Full of boiling oil and with laser focus, this labourer is ready for war! "I will not allow you to take away my purpose." Epic Pictures & Dread have debuted an official trailer for an indie sci-fi thriller titled Automation, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Garo Setian. This crazy, fun sci-fi plays on the fear that robots will turn on us with a story about a simple workplace robot that turns into a killing machine. The bot's name is Auto, of course, and he turns violent when he discovers that he will be replaced by a more efficient model. Starring (human actors) Elissa Dowling, Parry Shen, Graham Skipper, Sarah French, and "Scream Queen" Sadie Katz. The practical robot is cool, but this looks so terribly cheesy and bad in every other way, like it was made for SyFy TV and not cinemas. Have fun. We are days away from Marvel taking the coveted dais of Hall H to give us news on what we hope is Phase 4 of their wildly expansive — and box office record-breaking — Marvel Cinematic Universe. Arguably one of the most anticipated announcements is who would be playing the lead in Shang-Chi, which will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Dave Callaham (both of Asian heritage). It would be the first Asian-fronted superhero film from a major U.S. studio.
In addition to Shang-Chi, the comic book movie powerhouse has tapped The Rider‘s Chloe Zhao to direct The Eternals and Kumail Nanjiani is circling a role in that film. Over at DC, the Harley Quinn spinoff Birds of Prey will be helmed by Cathy Yan, with Ella Jay Basco starring as Cassandra Cain. Ever since “oldies” like Scream entered their “retrospective anniversary articles” phase, slasher cinema has failed to regain control of genre airwaves like those 80’s mainstays of pulp and cultural circumstance. Your still-relevant Friday The 13th or Child’s Play franchises. To that, I’ve always considered Adam Green’s Hatchet an exception to trends. My first taste of Victor Crowley’s bayou legend struck me as – pound for pound – one of the post-2000 era’s gnarliest slasher rebirths. Hatchet II and Hatchet III, two underrated indie continuations, only strengthened my arguments. Count me a ranking axe-wielder in the Hatchet Army, and a continual fan of Green’s work (Frozen chills to the core, Digging Up The Marrow blasts creativity).
Unfortunately, this just makes 2018’s Victor Crowley a bigger disappointment in my eyes.
Parry Shen returns as Andrew – the lone survivor of Hatch III’s massacre – and is duped into returning...

Fans of slasher cinema will probably be aware that this is the fourth movie in the “Hatchet” series, written or directed or both by Adam Green. He’s been going for a while, making TV (Fear.Net’s “Holliston”, and a few horror documentary shows) and movies – a handful of thrillers and short films, as well as this.

If you’re like me, and this is your first toe dipped into the waters of Mr Green and his cinematic universe, well, I don’t think there’s a lot of backstory to worry about. Large mute monster, completely indestructible, laughs, gore, slasher movies. So let’s get into it!

Although many actors have become typecast or mainstays in the horror genre (that’s certainly not a bad thing because it can keep you employed for life), there aren’t as many who can say that they’ve inhabited more than one iconic role. Fortunately for Kane Hodder, the former Jason Voorhees has kept lovers of the macabre entertained in recent years as Victor Crowley in the Hatchet series of films. Granted, the latter is less mainstream than the former, but our point remains valid.
Now, with the release of Victor’s eponymous adventure imminent, the folks at Coming Soon have decided to share the first five minutes from the flick. As we can see, the lovebirds played by Jonah Ray and Kelly Vrooman don’t fare very well, but it’s the cameo made by Tyler Mane that put a smile on my face.
