As we’ve highlighted in previous videos and articles, those who exclusively purchase films through online services are not truly guaranteed to have it available in their collection when the buyer is at the whim of the service provider. The seemingly iron-clad way to have a movie ready-to-watch is if you can have it at your fingertips. There are thankfully some distribution brands that are releasing movies that have been previously hard to find. Shout Factory is one of those brands, and the company has now released details on the restoration of Quigley Down Under on Blu-ray.com.
Directed by Simon Wincer (Lonesome Dove), Quigley Down Under stars Tom Selleck as sharpshooter Matt Quigley. “Arriving in Australia with nothing more than a saddle and his prized six-foot Sharps rifle, American sharpshooter Matthew Quigley thinks he’s been hired to kill off wild dogs,” reads the description. “But when he realizes...

"Daredevil: Born Again" is one of the most anticipated Marvel Studios projects. After guest appearances in "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and "She-Hulk," Charlie Cox is returning to Ol' Hornhead full-time — and it's not just him. Jon Bernthal will be returning as Frank Castle/The Punisher, reprising his role from both Netflix's "Daredevil" and its "Punisher" spin-off. It's unclear if Frank will be a friend or foe to Matt Murdock this time around.
Daredevil and Punisher is a long-standing rivalry; while Matt stands on the edge of a cliff, Frank has fallen far off it. Writers who've pitted the two against each other include Frank Miller, Garth Ennis (whose "Punisher" run was the basis for "Daredevil" season 2 episode "New York's Finest"), and most recently, Chip Zdarsky.
Zdarsky is the author of the ongoing run on "Daredevil," where his writing is complemented by Marco Checchetto's gorgeous art; his penciling uses...

Watch out, MCU: The Punisher is back. Jon Bernthal is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the gun-toting vigilante for the upcoming Disney+ series “Daredevil: Born Again.”
After news first broke on March 7 of Bernthal’s return as the character, he posted an image of himself as The Punisher to his Instagram, while also sharing a clip on the official “Real Ones With Jon Bernthal” YouTube channel titled “Frank Castle is back.”
Frank Castle, a.k.a. the Punisher, was first introduced in Netflix’s mini universe of street-level Marvel characters. He debuted in Season 2 of “Daredevil” in 2016, then went on to star in his own, self-titled spinoff that ran for two seasons.

Jon Bernthal will be suiting up as The Punisher again for Daredevil: Born Again.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed Tuesday that he would be joining Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio for the Disney+ revival.
The 18-episode (!) series is set to enter production in New York later this month.
Bernthal initially played Frank Castle in 12 episodes of Daredevil before going on to headline The Punisher for two seasons.
The series was canceled in 2019, around the time Netflix grounded its entire slate of Marvel series.
At that point, there were concerns that all of the superheroes that formed part of Netflix's slate wouldn't return.
But all the shows left Netflix last year and moved to Disney+ around the globe, paving the way for some heroes to return.

Jon Bernthal is to reprise his role as Frank Castle/The Punisher in Disney+‘s upcoming Daredevil: Born Again. He will join fellow Netflix Marvel alums Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio when production begins in New York later this month, according to THR. It serves as a spiritual successor to the Netflix Daredevil series, where The Punisher spin-off series also spun off starring Berenthal. Born Again takes its name from a landmark Daredevil story by Frank Miller and David Mazzuchelli in 1986, but the show will not follow the source material closely. For example, The Punisher did not appear in the original source material, and some of the storylines played out in the final season of the Netflix series. What’s in store for the series and any plot details remain unknown. Berenthal first appeared as The Punisher in the second season of Netlix’s Daredevil. He is one of the...

Jon Bernthal is getting his skull vest out of the closet. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bernthal has signed on to reprise the role of vigilante Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, in the upcoming Disney+ Marvel series “Daredevil: Born Again.”
Bernthal previously played the iconic anti-hero in the Netflix series “Daredevil,” as well as in his own eponymous series, which ran for two seasons on the streaming service from 2017 to 2019.
Bernthal is joining original “Daredevil” cast members Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio in the revival, which starts shooting in New York next month. The season will reportedly consist of 18 episodes, a much longer run than high-end streaming productions usually do.

A few years after Netflix cancelled “Daredevil” spinoff series “The Punisher,” THR reports today that Jon Bernthal will soon be reprising the role of Frank Castle/The Punisher!
Jon Bernthal is back as The Punisher in Marvel’s upcoming reboot series “Daredevil: Born Again,” which will also mark the return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil.
Vincent D’Onofrio will also be back as Wilson Fisk, we recently learned.
“Daredevil: Born Again” is said to be an 18-episode series for Disney+. From Matt Corman and Chris Ord, the Marvel series is expected to premiere sometime in 2024.
THR details, “Born Again takes its title from a landmark Daredevil storyline published in 1986, written by Frank Miller and drawn by David Mazzuchelli. The show is deviating from that plot, although by how much is unclear. The Punisher, for example, made no appearance in the comic story. Daredevil versus Wilson Fisk, aka the Kingpin, remains the focal point.

Marvel Studios is rounding out its cast for their upcoming and incredibly buzzy streaming series, "Daredevil: Born Again," and fans will no doubt rejoice over one big returning name. With Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin already confirmed to be on board the revival series, none other than John Bernthal will once again be suiting up as the famous, skull-wearing antihero Frank Castle/Punisher. The trio of actors are reprising their roles from the well-received Netflix shows and spin-offs about their respective Marvel characters, though it remains slightly murky whether the continuity of those various series are considered as part of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe canon or not.

This post contains slight spoilers for "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania."
After 15 years, the lore of the Marvel Cinematic Universe runs very deep. The franchise from the House of Ideas now encompasses films, TV shows, shorts, specials, and literature (including Scott Lang's memoir "Look Out For The Little Guy"). So it's understandable if a new True Believer feels daunted by the sheer amount of media they would need to consume if they want to completely catch up with the entire story. After all, it's not like anyone really wants to do homework in order to watch the latest blockbuster in a theater. But if you're looking to see "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania," surely you understand that it's a necessary evil, right?

The good ol’ internet. It’s been our friend and our enemy since the military’s Arpanet network switched on in the late ‘60s. Online communication has led to an enormous amount of acquired knowledge, and it’s given many people their livelihood (this writer raises his hand). Internet memes, however, have also taken some of the best moments in TV history, shown them to the masses out of context, and in turn ruined the original intent of the message from said TV shows.
We’re here to look back on some of the biggest dichotomies between the incredible performances onscreen and the jokes and laughs they weren’t supposed to produce, but did, on social media and beyond.

As games (and the gaming industry) grow larger and more complicated, it’s easy to look back with nostalgia on the simple pleasures of the best Nes games. However, even those seemingly simple Nes games often held secrets that went undiscovered for years.
While publications like Nintendo Power made a few early Nes secrets relatively common knowledge, most Nes gamers had to rely on word of mouth to discover some of gaming’s earliest Easter eggs, major glitches, and other strange secrets. As such, even those who stumbled upon those secrets at that time really didn’t have a great way to tell the world about them. It wasn’t until decades later (if ever) that more gamers realized that some of the games they spent their childhoods playing contained hidden details that even dedicated players probably never would have found.

The Punisher has always been a property Marvel has struggled with bringing to the big screen. The Netflix show with Jon Bernthal was the closest they ever came to fitting the character into the MCU. Still, it remains a character that many deem too violent for a superhero film, and Frank Castle seems unlikely to appear in a Disney-produced Marvel movie soon. Thus, when other Punisher movies have been made, they’re typically vigilante action movies that aren’t especially tied to their comic book origins. In 1989, we got a low-budget version starring Dolph Lundgren, but in 2004 Lionsgate tried to mount a big-budget, star-studded action movie update, with Thomas Jane playing Frank Castle, aka The Punisher.
The studio went all out, even bringing in John Travolta to play the baddie, but despite Jane’s best efforts (with most agreeing he made a great Punisher), the film was a box office disappointment.

From Zeph in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Frank Castle in The Punisher to David Drayton in The Mist (based on the Stephen King novella of the same name) and Baxley in The Predator, Thomas Jane is no stranger to bringing compelling characters to life on screen in multiple genres. His role in the recent horror comedy Slayers is certainly no exception, as he plays Elliot Jones, a modern vampire hunter who lives in an Rv, researches bloodsucker conspiracy theories, and eventually teams up with video game influencer Flynn (Kara Hayward) to help take down a nefarious vampire empire.
With Slayers now on Digital and On Demand, we recently caught up with Thomas Jane to discuss acting in and executive producing the new vampire movie, and he also reflected on filming his memorable fight scene with Kevin Nash in The Punisher and being a part of the gut-punch ending of The Mist.

This article contains major spoilers for episode 7 of "She-Hulk: Attorney At Law"
If there's one thing "She-Hulk: Attorney At Law" has been able to do more than most projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's showing superpowered, supernatural, and otherwise mythical beings just existing within this world. While Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) was one of the first notable lawyers in the MCU, his clients were largely grounded beings, such as Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal).
Although Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) hasn't been on hand with all of these specific cases, the superpowered law division of Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg, and Holliway have already dealt with a light elf, a disgraced sorcerer, a superhuman influencer, and an indestructible being simply known as Mr. Immortal (David Pasquesi). The biggest detriment against "She-Hulk" is that most of these cases feel like afterthoughts, while Jen tries to adjust her living situation alongside the big, green rage machine living inside her.

Distinguished character actors and "Star Wars" have always gone hand-in-hand, dating back to Peter Cushing and Alec Guinness' turns in "Star Wars: A New Hope." Plot: An upstanding pastor uncovers a dark and twisted underworld as he searches for answers surrounding his daughter’s brutal murder.
Review: There’s A Lot going on in The Retaliators and that may be a bit of an understatement. Almost feeling like a combination of five different movies, this feels like a bit of a juggling act from the jump. But if you’re a fan of blood and gore, you’re sure to find some thrills from this little independent venture.
I’ve enjoyed Michael Lombardi since his days as Probie on FX’s Rescue Me, so I pleasantly saw him take the lead here. He stars as a pastor who loses his daughter to a devious killer. Oh, and that killer is also a part of this gang, causing a ruckus with another group. There’s also a Jigsaw-like figure who kidnaps said killer and decides he will punish him.

Over 30 years after "American Gigolo" launched Richard Gere's career, the film is getting a TV adaptation with another suave leading man in the starring role. Jon Bernthal is taking over the reins as Julian Kaye, a former male escort who spent years being the object of affection until a murder charge landed him in prison. The series almost works as a direct sequel to the original film: picking up 15 years later, Julian is exonerated when new evidence comes to light proving he did not commit the murder that got him put away. But while trying to get back into his old scene, he realizes that picking up where he left off isn't as simple as he'd like. So he does as TV characters so often do, and gets to work trying to solve the murder himself.

The 2004 Marvel Comics adaptation The Punisher wasn’t a huge hit when it was released by Lionsgate, it made just under 55 million at the global box office, but that was still enough for Lionsgate to greenlight a sequel. And when The Punisher 2 first went into development, the idea was that The Punisher director Jonathan Hensleigh would be back at the helm, with Thomas Jane reprising the role of vigilante Frank Castle. But there were script issues, Hensleigh left the project, and Lionsgate started searching for another director. And during a panel at the Fanboy Expo Knoxville last weekend, Jane revealed that two of the directors who were considered for The Punisher 2 were Rob Zombie, who was then fresh off of working with Lionsgate on The Devil’s Rejects, and The Warriors‘ Walter Hill.

One could easily argue that we have never had an outright good "Punisher" movie. While several attempts have been made, nothing has truly managed to capture that character on screen in a way that seems possible. Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle from "Daredevil" season 2 seems the closest, even if his solo show missed the mark a bit. Thomas Jane gave it the old college try in 2004, with the actor stepping up to the plate for "The Punisher," an adaptation of the Marvel Comics title with Jonathan Hensleigh in the director's chair.
As it turns out, there was talk of a sequel to that iteration, and, what's more, several major directors were being courted to tackle the follow-up. Among those the studio considered? None other than the man behind "House of 1,000 Corpses" and "The Devil's Rejects," Rob Zombie.

Rosario Dawson is walking back comments she made about rumors of Jon Bernthal‘s return as Frank Castle for a revival of The Punisher. The actress, who appeared at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo over the weekend, stirred up buzz when she mentioned a possible Punisher series return following the revival of Netflix hit Marvel’s Daredevil. In July, it was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that Marvel would bring Charlie Cox‘s Matt Murdock back to screens in his own revival series Daredevil: Born Again. With that announcement, fans have been speculating what other characters from that portion of the MCU might pop up again, and apparently, Dawson believed that The Punisher was among them. After Halyna Hutchins was shot and killed on the set of “Rust” in October, California State Sen. Dave Cortese proposed banning firearms on film sets.
But now Cortese has backed off from that idea after getting pushback from the entertainment industry.
Cortese introduced a bill last week that would impose credentialing requirements on production armorers and would limit the use of live ammunition to certain reality TV shows, such as those featuring hunting or shooting competitions. But the bill stops short of banning all functional guns — including blank-firing weapons — from film and TV sets.
“My preference would have been if we could not use blanks at all in any kind of production,” Cortese said in an interview. But in recent weeks he got a clear message from film armorers: “We have to have blanks.”
“They convinced me,” Cortese said. “That was pretty much a universal concern.”

When Mike Tristano is working on a film or television production, his guns never leave his line of sight. The armorer, who has lent his decades of weapons expertise to “The Purge” and hundreds of other productions, follows strict safety protocols on sets to ensure that the guns being used cannot harm the cast or crew he works with.
“The guns that we use on movie sets are only used for movies, not for target practice, plinking, or anything else,” Tristano told IndieWire in an interview. “Everything is always unloaded. It goes from our safes at the shop, to a truck, to the set. On the set, all the guns are open. The loading gate is open, the cylinder is set so it can be rotated and the ammo — and by that I mean blanks — are very visible. There’s a very visible difference between blanks and live rounds. It's only been less than a month since The Punisher premiered on Netflix and I know that some people are still in the process of getting through the first season, But, I'm excited to report that Netflix has officially renewed Marvel's The Punisher for Season 2!
The first season seemed to have been met with mixed reviews but I loved it! That was the best live-action adaptation of The Punisher yet and I can't wait to see what's in store for Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) in Season 2! One thing that I know we can expect is seeing him go on another insane killing spree.

It’s certainly been a year to remember if you’re a fan of The Punisher, now hasn’t it? In addition to winning over True Believers with the new Netflix series starring Jon Bernthal, Frank Castle has found yet another way to turn heads on the comic book side of things.

But, as it turns out, his War Machine armor didn’t go to waste because – get this – Castle picked up where Iron Man’s best buddy left off.
