Focus Features has picked up an untitled feature spec by Amy Welsh, who most recently was supervising producer on the ABC Family series Bunheads, and who has written on sitcoms from Roseanne to It’s Like You Know and Men Behaving Badly. They are keeping the logline under wraps. Jc Spink, Jake Weiner, and Chris Bender are producing for Benderspink, which recently exec produced Ride Along and Hangover 3, and produced We’re The Millers and the just-wrapped Horrible Bosses 2. Welsh is repped by ICM Partners.

Cedric the Entertainer is back at ABC with a comedy pilot.
The network on Wednesday greenlighed "The Law" (working title), a single-camera pilot starring and executive produced by the comedian.
Also on Wednesday, ABC picked up comedy pilot "Canned," "Planet Lucy" and an untitled comedy starring Christian comedian Anita Renfroe and gave the official go-ahead to the Bill Lawrence/Courteney Cox comedy "Cougartown" starring Cox as a newly single 40-year-old mom with a 17-year-old son and to Kelsey Grammer/Tucker Cawley's multicamera comedy pilot starring Grammer as a hotshot Wall Street executive who loses his job and is forced to reconnect with his small-town family.
"The Law," from ABC Studios and DreamWorks TV, revolves around reserve police officers for the Lapd who balance their full-time off-duty lives with the excitement of being weekend cops.
Bob Fisher penned the script and is exec producing the pilot with Cedric and Charles Segars.
