- Awarded the Tony for her costume designs in "Fiddler on the Roof" (1965), "Cabaret" (1967) and "Sweet Charity" (1986).
- Won Broadway's Best Costume Designer Tony Award three times: in 1965 for "Fiddler on the Roof;" in 1967 for "Cabaret;" and in 1986 for "Sweet Charity." She was also Tony-nominated seven other times: in 1969 for "Zorba;" in 1973 for "Pippin;" in 1975, for "Mack and Mabel;" in 1976 for "Chicago;" in 1983 for "Alice in Wonderland;" in 1984, for "Sunday in the Park with George," a nominationn shared with Ann Hould-Ward; and in 1991 for "Shogun, The Musical."
