Tom Petty married before he was famous and shared two kids with his first wife, Jane Benyo. He became a stepfather in his second marriage to Dana York. His three children have grown up, so what do they do now?

Petty had two daughters, Adria and Annakim, with Benyo. Following their divorce, he married York and became the stepfather to her son, Dylan. He said that he was never as laid back as his public image made him seem, and he wanted to pass down his passion to his children.
“I have a very blessed life,” he told Parade in 2010. “I think any time you’re making a living at what you love to do, you’re blessed. That’s what I try to instill in my kids. Go after what you really love and find a...

Tom Petty’s 1994 album “Wildflowers,” the subject of the SXSW documentary “Tom Petty, Somewhere You Feel Free,” was in some ways one of the veteran rocker’s most casual albums. Made with producer Rick Rubin after a pair of bigger-sounding, more meticulously arranged albums with Jeff Lynne, “Wildflowers” has a low-key, ramshackle air to it, with its rough-hewn rocker songs tossed together with loose shuffles and acoustic ballads that actually have more going on than you realize.
There’s an intimacy and a melancholy to it, as befits a group of songs written by a guy whose state in life was summed up in the couplet that opened “To Find a Friend”: “In the middle of his life/He left his wife.”
“Wildflowers” was a subtle album whose impact slowly grew over time; nothing about it insisted that it should be taken as a big statement. But a recent boxed set,...

During the last week of his life, Tom Petty grew unusually wistful. Home after a tour with the Heartbreakers, he had his wife, Dana, call up his rarely seen 2002 “Fun in the Desert” video, in which he tooled around a barren landscape on a mini-motorcycle, then asked her to track down a high school girlfriend on social media. “He hated Facebook,” Dana Petty recalls. “But he got super-nostalgic. Looking back, it’s very strange.”

As she sorted through the music her father Tom Petty left behind, Adria Petty was struck by one recording in particular — a homemade demo of “You Don’t Know How It Feels” from his 1994 album Wildflowers.
“I thought, ‘What a weird song to pick as the single, of all those songs,’” she tells Rolling Stone. “They had an album of amazing songs. But there’s something about it that makes you feel at ease — like you belong. The idea of ‘you don’t know how it feels to be me...

Today, they release the music video for “Bad Case,” a hard-charging rocker Nelson wrote with the Traveling Wilburys in mind, from their new album Turn Off the News (Build a Garden), out June 14th. Last year, Tom Petty’s daughter Adria was in the home studio of Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell, reviewing some of the material her father left behind. There, she first heard “For Real,” a plaintive, sparely arranged song written and recorded quickly in 2000 but never released. Fan-made recreations of big budget pop music videos are a tricky business. Want an even trickier one? Recreating a Beyonce video without upsetting her notoriously devout fans. But we think we know one young boy who may have pulled it off.
While recreating professional-level sets, photography and hair and makeup is darn near impossible, the stars of viral videos make up for it with sass and, usually, a hook that sets them apart from both the other imitators and the stars themselves.
For one big Beyonce fan, the hook comes in his astounding ability to edit his recreation of "Countdown" almost exactly as it was done by the video's director … but the sass is all in the Snuggie.
That's right, YouTube user KKPalmer1000's interpretation of Beyonce's Adria Petty co-directed clip is essential a shot-for-shot remake of the original that manages to remarkably mimic its color-blocked style and rapid fire cuts,...

Beyonce, who has normally kept mum on the details of her personal life, isn't shy about her pregnancy in the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar.
"It was important to me that I gave myself time to focus on becoming the woman I want to be, building my empire, my relationship, and my self-worth, before I became a mother," the star tells Harper's. "Now God has blessed us with the ultimate."
Beyonce and Jay-z have been on the receiving end of baby rumors for years, so when the time came to announce it to the world -- at our own VMAs in August -- Knowles was going to make sure the reveal was picture perfect. "I put a lot of thought into how I wanted to unveil it. It was important to me that I was able to do it myself," she says of rubbing her bump on the red carpet in an orange Lanvin gown.

Beyonce's “Countdown” video shows the many sides of the eccentric and eclectic pop star: funny, stylish, happy, manic, sexy and pop culturally savvy.
With references to 60’s icons like Andy Warhol, Twiggy, Audrey Hepburn, Diana Ross, Brigitte Bardot, and even nods to “West Side Story,” it’s clear that Mamma B wanted to take her fans on a trip back in time.
Co-directed with Adria Petty, the clip is drenched in vintage-hued colors and retro clothes as the singer dances around various setups that not only pay homage to the '60s but also the '80s and '90s thanks to a good dash of “Fame,” “Flashdance” and even En Vogue thrown in for good measure. Beyoncé's "Countdown" video plays up the singer's theatrical side. It pays homage to iconic films like "West Side Story" and "Funny Face," as well as '60s icons like the Supremes and Audrey Hepburn. The clip, co-directed by Adria Petty, is an eye-catching glimpse at the pop culture moments that reside in the creative conscience of the pop star.
While a lot of the video displays the singer's personality and spunk, as well as her ever-expanding baby bump, it's clear that Petty and her team worked hard to make sure they captured the spirit of the milestones they re-created in the video.

The costume change-heavy music video for Beyonce's "Countdown", which debuted earlier this evening on MTV, has hit the web. In the clip, the singer can be seen showing off her pregnant belly, wearing a "Flashdance"-style cut-off sweatshirt, donning several brightly-colored bodysuits, paying tribute to Audrey Hepburn and Twiggy, and...multiplying. Which is good, right? Because ten pregnant Beyonces means ten Beyonce/Jay-z superstar messiah babies! Which is ten times the miracle! Anyway, below you can check out the full Adria Petty-directed video for the track, which served as the third single from the pop star's latest album "4". Petty also helmed the video for...

Since Beyonce coyly announced at the MTV Video Music Awards that she and Jay-z were expecting their first child , the pop diva hasn't been shy about showing off her baby bump.
That bump gets major billing in the superstar's characteristically kinetic new video "Countdown," which was directed by Adria Petty. After an opening sequence that's a hat-tip to Audrey Hepburn, Bey turns in profile and shows off just how far along she is.
"I'm very excited!" Beyonce told E! News last month while promoting her hew fragrance, Pulse. "I'm probably the happiest I've ever been."...

According to reports, Beyoncé headed to New Jersey to shoot the video. Fresh off "Watch the Throne" listening party in New York, Beyonce Knowles went to South Brunswick to film a music video for her next single. Rumor has it, the R&B diva shot the visuals in the rural parts of New Jersey for Andre Benjamin-assisted song "Party".
Queen Bey was all smiles, waving to onlookers around the area when they took her pictures. She was joined by her singer sister Solange Knowles and her former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland on the set, but there is no word about possible cameos for the two.
Storyline of the upcoming clip is still scarce, but rumor mentioned that it might carry retro theme. The dancers spotted on location were indeed seen wearing flashy fashions which included vibrant dresses and colorful make-ups. Beyonce herself is spotted wearing a headband.
Beside preparing "Party" video, Beyonce also is going to release an alternate clip...

Adria Petty Directing Hoarding Horror Film
Has anyone else watched the reality TV show Hoarders and wished for a not-so-freak accident in which one of the giant mountains of crap a hoarder obsessively builds up around himself suddenly collapses and crushes him to death? If you’ve found yourself wishing that, you’re sick. But also, you might just be in luck. According to Deadline, Adria Petty is making a new horror/thriller called Suffocate. Apparently, a psychopathic hoarder (isn’t that redundant?) has transformed his brownstone into a death trap. A scrappy group of city workers must enter the condemned space and thwart the evil booby-traps of the Ocd killer to survive.

Adria Petty is the daughter of musician Tom Petty, and she's about to direct her first narrative feature film called Suffocate.
The movie is a horror thriller written by Ben Olsen, and it's about a "group of city workers who enter a hoarders condemned brownstone and find it loaded with deadly traps, and an unrelenting killer. The group is forced to use their wits--and demolition tools--to stay alive."
Speaking of hoarder's have you seen that show on Tmc? That's a nightmare right there. Anyway, Petty has directed commercials for McDonalds, Target and Converse. She's also directed music videos for Beyonce, Regina Spektor and Anjulie. As well as a documentary called Paris, Not France, and a Live in London concert film with Spektor.
What are your thought's on this new movie?

Briefly: I had never seen even a snippet of the show Hoarders until recently, and I rather wish I still hadn't. While I understand the horrific appeal I can't quite get into being entertained/horrified by people who are obsessively driven to surround themselves with stuff. Unless, of course, they're the subject of a horror film rather than a pseudo-documentary TV show. In that case, let's hoard! Adria Petty, daughter of Tom Petty and director of the Paris Hilton doc Paris, Not France, is now making a thriller called Suffocate in which hoarders play a key role. Specifically, Deadline [1] says that Suffocate is written by Ben Olson and follows "a group of city workers who enter a hoarder's condemned brownstone and find it loaded with deadly traps, and an unrelenting killer. The group is forced to use their wits--and demolition tools--to stay alive." Once upon a time they same workers...

Being a rabid horror fan, I always considered the piles and piles of crap stacked around me to be “collectibles” but according to A&E, it’s unnecessary garbage and I’m a hoarder! I’m assuming you’ve seen or at least heard of the reality based television show where they go into the homes of “hoarders” and help them clear out their garbage which sometimes is stacked to the ceiling!...
Well, going along with the idea of “art imitates life”, it was only a matter of time before a movie was uncovered from those piles of Playboy, errr…. I mean “artfully illustrated horror based publications”….yeah that’s the ticket!

There's a contingent of our readership, largely female, that's more sick and twisted and f*cked in the head than the people who watch Serbian Film on a loop. Why? Because these women subject themselves to Misery Night. Voluntarily. Misery Night is worse than any horror film you've ever seen because Misery Night is real. It's toplined by a show called "Hoarders," and if you're not familiar with it, it's about the most psychologically deranged, mentally imbalanced people on the planet. Murdering, I understand. We all get that urge from time to time. But willingly living in filth? In junk and animal carcasses and rotting food and broken appliances and used diapers? What kind of sick son of a bitch would do this?
Last year, I subjected myself to an episode of "Hoarders" for review, and within half an hour, I was holding back my own dry heaves. For the next four hours,...

In one corner, a bunch of ratty magazines. In another, a mountain of moldy yogurt. All over the floor, a herd of wild cats roams free. The horror, the horror, the hoarding. So it’s a pretty big television phenomenon, and soon, Adria Petty will be directing a film called Suffocate featuring a hoarder who kills. For those outside of the know on one of the most depressing shows of all time, a hoarder is someone who compulsively collects things, surrounding himself with rotting junk even as he goes to get more. How do they spin that into a horror concept? By placing it in a hoarder’s brownstone house where a group of municipal employees find themselves locked in with a bunch of…traps. That’s right. A bunch of random people are locked in a house with traps. It’s Saw 2 with piles of junk everywhere. At least, that...

Beware the lady with the piles of crap and a family of stray cats living underneath stacks of newspaper clippings and Costco boxes! Adria Petty (daughter of rocker Tom) has been tapped to direct the Ben Olson-penned Suffocate for Radar Pictures as her narrative feature film debut. Described as a "thriller", Suffocate does seem to have enough genre elements to warrant a mention here on Dread, but only time will tell how much coverage we'll wind up doing in the future.
Per Deadline Suffocate is about a group of city workers who enter a hoarder's condemned brownstone and find it loaded with deadly traps and an unrelenting killer. The group is forced to use their wits--and demolition tools--to stay alive.
Petty's background includes commercials for the likes of McDonald's and Target and music videos for Beyonce and Regina Spektor. She directed the documentary Paris, Not France and a recent Live in London concert film with Spektor.
Look for more soon if it turns out this one lands on the horror side of the fence.
