Theresa Burleson

Theresa Burleson was born in Denver, Colorado to Malcolm and Tina Burleson who are originally from Houston Texas. Both of her parents come from creole heritage and celebrate their roots that trace back to Louisiana and are spread throughout the Caribbean. Theresa grew up in Denver, Colorado where she trained as an actress starting at the age of 7, at the Fox Theatre with supporting roles in various shows such as: Alice and Wonderland, Charlotte's Web, etc.. By 13, she starred in her first industrial film Aiden's Discovery and continued on performing throughout High School when she moved to Dallas, Texas.
At 14, she trained with Barbizon Modeling in print work and runway, where she walked in various different runway shows locally, until she moved to Dallas. Theresa was also a successful track star sprinting since she was 5 in 100m, 200m, 400m dash including relays, she was very passionate about the sport until it conflicted with acting in which she decided to stop and focus on being a performer. Theresa was also Colorado's 2014 Miss. Juneteenth, as Miss Juneteenth she became passionate about activism and fighting against colorism. She spoke at elementary schools, high schools, and conferences bringing awareness to colorism and black history. Through her experience she became a passionate writer and poet.
Immediately after High School Theresa moved to Los Angeles, California to attend AMDA College of the Performing Arts and graduated in two and a half years with her Bachelors in Fine Arts with a focus in acting.
