"I always thought that by the time I got married, I would be different." Samuel Goldwyn Films has debuted a trailer for an indie romantic comedy called It Had to Be You, about a woman who freaks out when she learns her boyfriend is going to propose to her. Actress Cristin Milioti (seen in The Wolf of Wall Street, The Brass Teapot, "Fargo", "The Mindy Project") stars, with Dan Soder, Halley Feiffer, Kate Simses, Erica Sweany, Mark Gessner and Rachel York. This is definitely very quirky, but there's also some charm to it, mostly because Cristin Milioti is quite talented and it's nice to see her in a fun role like this. The trailer ends rather abruptly, like there's more going on - but I guess we have to see the film to find out what. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Sasha Gordon's It Had to Be You,...

The first (and only) season of ABC’s Mixology has been a lot like a typical night out at the bar. There’s the appealing guy (Blake Lee’s Tom) or girl (Ginger Gonzaga’s Maya) you’re hoping will approach you, the guy (Andrew Santino’s Bruce) or girl (Frankie Shaw’s Fab) who unfortunately does approach you, and the bartenders (Vanessa Lengies’ Kacey and Adan Canto’s Dominic) who are more concerned with their own personal drama than getting you a drink.

It's almost last call for the cast and crew of ABC's Mixology sitcom. The network has cancelled the new series after 11 airings.
A comedy, Mixology revolves around 10 people on one night in a trendy New York bar. The cast includes Adam Campbell, Adan Canto, Alexis Carra, Craig Frank, Ginger Gonzaga, Blake Lee, Vanessa Lengies, Andrew Santino, Frankie Shaw, and Kate Simses.
Airing after Modern Family on Wednesday nights, Mixology debuted to a 1.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.98 million viewers. Those numbers aren't bad but considering the lead-in, the ratings should have been better. They quickly dropped in subsequent weeks, likely sealing its fate.
Of the cancellation, co-star Shaw tweeted, "Sad day. Love to all you #Mixology fans. Keep watching! Great episodes left, esp the finale. xoxoxoxo"

Mixology Review
ABC‘s self-proclaimed “high-concept” comedy, Mixology, is a combination of 24 and Love Actually, but for a somewhat younger crowd than either. Actually, the target demographic might be up in the air, as the ages of, and dialog from, some of the characters pushes the upper region of the key television audience.
At any rate, the series takes place during a single night, in a single location, as 10 strangers enjoy an evening at a local bar, trying to pick up, get picked up, or otherwise figure out how to find love… or something.
Tom (Blake Lee) was recently dumped by his fiancee, and his friends, Cal (Craig Frank) and Bruce (Andrew Santino), are taking him out to get him back on the horse. Tom is about as lost as a guy can be in such a situation, especially after being out of the game for so long, but it...

ABC’s Mixology is mixing things up by adding a new series regular to the already bursting cast. The comedy series revolves around the exploits of ten singles – five guys and five girls – as they search for love in a sexy Manhattan bar in the course of one night. At least, it was ten singles before the eleventh cast member was added, shaking things up just enough that the dynamics of some characters might have changed, but the overall concept remains untouched. Everyone is still single and looking to make a connection with another, hopefully, single person. And Frankie Shaw will now be there to make everyone feel extremely awkward.

One of the things I love so much about the horror genre is just how many sub-sections there are to it. I mean, if you were so inclined or just in the mood, you could focus your movie viewing leisure time specifically to the supernatural, or to zombies, or perhaps werewolves & vampires, or monsters (oh my)! But for me, I personally like to get seasonal with my horror movies. And so with summer officially upon us, this is the time of year I break out all of my favorite (and obscure) summer slasher horror! We figured we’d give you 6 recommendations so you could get into the summer slasher spirit as well; some of which are well known, some obscure and some recent ones that just warrant another look in the off chance you missed ‘em upon their initial release. At ABC‘s upfront, there were a few things that the network wanted to make sure you knew. 1) They are really impressed with the idea that people are going to watch Rebel Wilson do just about anything, and 2) There isn’t anything they’re happier about than bringing you more episodes of television created by Shonda Rhimes.
On these notes, the network would love for you to know that more Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal are coming your way. These, ABC would like to impress upon you (as advertisers) are really good shows. The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the third announced earlier today. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on ABC.
The network is changing up some of its serialized dramas - removing random repeats in favor of two "uninterrupted runs" of twelve episodes each (one in the fall, one in the spring) for shows like "Once Upon A Time," "Grey’s Anatomy," "Scandal" and "Revenge". The large gaps between the two half-seasons will be bridged by "limited series" designed around only 12-13 episode seasons.
Several other pilots didn't make the final cut and won't be seen including the high-profile "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" rip-off "Gothica", McG's rip-off of Baz Luhrmann's "Romeo + Juliet" entitled "Westside", the series based on Disneyland's Big Thunder Mountain ride, the Annie Potts-led "Murder in Manhattan" about...

Sometimes, a night at the bar can feel like an entire year. That's exactly what happens in the new ABC comedy, "Mixology." Taking place on a single night and in a single bar, 10 singles drink and find love in strange ways (one seems to involve vomiting).
Tom (Blake Lee) is out on the town for the first time in 8 years after getting dumped by his fiancee. Accompanying this inept young man are his friends Cal (Craig Frank) and Bruce (Andrew Santino). Tom's first attempted conquest doesn't work out so well when he approaches Maya (Ginger Gonzaga), a somewhat brutal lawyer. Maya is out with her semi-engaged friend, Live (Kate Simses). Meanwhile, a single mom named Jessica (Alexis Carra) and her sister, Janey (Sarah Bolger, "Once Upon a Time"), are waiting for a blind date. That would be a very nervous Ron (Adam Campbell), who promptly vomits into a purse.

Do you remember those nights when you were young and single and just looking for anyway to find love in a city filled with possibilities? Do you remember constant disappointment in the outcomes of your exploits? For some of you, those nights are your present. ABC is looking to bring a comedy to audiences that would invoke memories of those nights. Called Mixology, the single-camera comedy is set in a sexy Manhattan bar where five guys and five girls, all single, are in search of love – and all in one night. To me, the high concept sounds like it would be better suited for a movie, but that’s only my initial reaction. I’ll reserve full judgment for when – and if – I see the pilot, so for now let’s focus and three stars recently cast.

Lee, repped by UTA and Management 360, will play Tom, a nice-guy, clean cut accountant recently dumped by his long-time girlfriend. Santino, repped by CAA and Evan Silverberg, plays Bruce, Tom’s brutally honest best friend from college. Masohn plays Maya, a gorgeous ballbuster, formerly a jock and currently a sports attorney. This marks Masohn’s return to ABC where she co-starred on 666 Park Avenue this season. She is with Greene & Assoc. and Luber/Roklin.

James Caan is eying a return to TV with a new ABC comedy pilot. According to TV Guide, Caan has joined the cast of Mark and Robb Cullen's untitled sports comedy.
In the pilot, Caan will play Terry Sr., a former baseball player and father of a recently divorced mom. The father and daughter are estranged, but circumstances bring them together. Look for the daughter to begin coaching her son's Little League team and to start to get drawn back into the world of sports she vowed to leave behind.
Caan starred in NBC's "Las Vegas" and will recur on "Magic City" Season 2.
In other pilot casting news ...
Kevin Pollak will co-star in "Beverly Hills Cop." Pollak will play Rodney Daloof, the in-house lawyer for the Beverly Hills Police Department in the CBS pilot from Shawn Ryan and Eddie Murphy. [THR]
Melissa Fumero will co-star opposite Andy Samberg in a Fox pilot.

John Leguizamo's last effort to get a show on ABC didn't work out -- the network passed on "The Kings of Van Nuys," a comedy he starred in, last season.
He's taking another shot with the network, though, this time with a show based on his own life.
Leguizamo will star in a pilot based loosely on his life as a husband and father living on Manhattan's affluent Upper West Side while trying to stay connected to his roots in the Bronx. Leguizamo also co-wrote the story for the pilot with Chris Sheridan ("Family Guy," "Titus").
Other pilot news:
- Kevin Pollak ("The Usual Suspects," "Shark") has joined the cast of CBS' "Beverly Hills Cop" series, which stars Brandon T. Jackson as the son of Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy, who will appear in and is an executive producer of the pilot). He'll play the in-house counsel for the Beverly Hills Pd,...

Exclusive: Kate Simses (What’s Your Number) has landed a regular role in ABC‘s single-camera comedy pilot Mixology, from feature writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore (The Hangover, The Change-Up) and ABC Studios. I’ve also learned that Ryan Seacrest’s production company is boarding the project as a pod. Shepherding the pilot from Ryan Seacrest Prods will be veteran TV comedy producer Nina Wass, who joined the company as head of scripted in August. Wass has a long history at ABC Studios — she spent eight years there partnered with Gene Stein. I hear ABC Studios has been adding experienced TV producers to several of its newly picked-up pilots, including studio-based Matthew Gross (Body Of Proof), who is joining drama Murder In Manhattan. Set in the world of a sexy Manhattan bar, the high-concept Mixology chronicles the exploits of singles in search of love — all over the course of one night.

We will be posting a more in-depth conversation next week with Evans and Farris from our roundtable conversation, so be on the look out for those. Until then, enjoy a look from the red carpet of “What’s Your Number?” opening in the Us and UK September 30th, 2011.
