Something shifted when Timothée Chalamet put on the coat and top hat that transformed him into a budding chocolatier in Paul King’s Wonka. That simple act has moved us collectively into a chaos-ridden timeline in which families can get ripped off at a knockoff Willy Wonka-themed family event in Glasgow — and in which John Stamos can record the opening number demo for Willy’s Candy Spectacular: A Parody Musical, a production entirely about that event.

What To Watch In May 2024: From Crew, Zigato & More – Ott Releases Of The Month. (Photo Credit – IMDb)

Last month, it was Amar Singh Chamkila and Laapata Ladies, which kept people entertained. This month, the superstar releases will rule Ott platforms. However, it would be interesting to see who wins the viewership game.
For May 2024 Ott releases, two Kapil Sharma films are lined up apart from his show The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix. Apart from him, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ajay Devgn, Timothee Chalamet, and other superstars are ready to arrive on your digital screens.

Tom Holland has played Spider-Man in multiple MCU films over the years and the actor has become synonymous with the character. From his scene-stealing debut in Captain America: Civil War to the epic Spider-Man: No Way Home, the character has evolved significantly through his appearances.
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in Avengers: Infinity War
Spider-Man had a big role in Avengers: Infinity War, with his introduction being one of the highlights of the film. Holland’s arm hair stands up as his Spidey sense kicks in when Thanos’ minions arrive on Earth. While most believed the scene was achieved through CGI, Marvel surprisingly did it via practical means.

Deadline’s Most Valuable Blockbuster tournament is back. While studios during Covid wildly embraced the theatrical day-and-date model when cinemas were closed, they soon realized there’s nothing more profitable than a theatrical release and the downstreams that come with it. If anything, theatrical is the advertisement for a movie’s longevity in subsequent home entertainment windows. Entering the conversation in 2023 were the streamers, such as Apple, who have also realized the necessity of theatrical to eventize their movies. The financial data pulled together here for Deadline’s Most Valuable Blockbuster Tournament is culled by seasoned and trusted sources.

Timothée Chalamet had a dream run at the box office, with his last two films Wonka and Dune: Part Two earning huge numbers globally. The actor has become one of the biggest stars in Hollywood right now and has a slate of high-profile projects in the pipeline. His next project is the James Mangold-directed Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown.
Chalamet has reportedly decided to use his own singing voice in the biopic instead of lip-syncing to Dylan’s songs. The actor had also flexed his vocal cords in last year’s musical comedy Wonka. A statement from director Paul King about Chalamet’s singing talents might be the reason why Mangold was sure of the Call Me By Your Name star playing Bob Dylan.

Timothée Chalamet’s journey in Hollywood has been an inspiring one. From making his name as a young star in independent films to bagging huge mainstream projects like Dune and Wonka, the actor has proved that he has the personality and talent to juggle both worlds with aplomb.
Timothée Chalamet in Dune
With the recently released Dune 2, Chalamet has further showcased his growth as an actor through the evolution of his character, Paul Atreides. But the Oscar nominee’s casting was criticized when he was initially signed on for the role by Denis Villeneuve. The director, though, was steadfast in his reasoning behind the decision and elaborated on why he was insistent on only Chalamet playing the role.
The Dune Ensemble Was Created Around Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides
It is difficult to imagine anyone other than Timothée Chalamet portraying the central character Paul Atreides in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune franchise.

While winning an Oscar is obviously a huge deal for actors, making an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a bit of an achievement in itself. Even though Olivia Colman’s casting for the Disney+ series Secret Invasion thrilled us, we could not help but wonder why she wanted to join the cast. Now that we know, she is a fan as well.
The idea behind the show was something that viewers had been eagerly anticipating, but the Disney+ series received a mixed reception. And it was not expected. Despite this, in a recent interview, Colman appeared to be constantly raving about how much she loves the MCU.

The era of overpriced collectible popcorn buckets is upon us! Though "buckets" may be too strong a word here. Over the past few years, theater chains like AMC, Cinemark, and Regal have gotten so creative with their novelty food-holder designs that merch sites have started branding them as limited edition "vessels" or "containers" rather than buckets. The days of the simple bucket with a custom-print design aren't entirely behind us -- Taylor Swift's wild popular Era's Tour popcorn bucket proved that much -- but the gap between usable dishware and display-only tchotchkes seems to be closing quickly.
The "Dune 2" sandworm may be the popcorn vessel that went viral, but it's not the only creative -- and questionably designed -- officially licensed popcorn container out there. Below, we've ranked 12 of the weirdest and wildest designs released by major American theater chains using five highly scientific criteria: bragging rights, practicality, creativity,...

Actor John Travolta’s worldwide fame began when he starred in two cultural paradigm-shifting films: Saturday Night Fever, and Grease. The star achieved a rare feat that few actors had done: staying at the top two spots at the domestic box office within eight months. However, now that record seems to be broken by Timothée Chalamet.
Timothée Chalamet’s starring roles in Wonka and the recent Dune: Part Two have made him a star like no other. The films were at the top spot in their opening weeks and only slightly slowed down with new releases. While Wonka grossed $218 million domestically in its lifetime run, Dune: Part Two currently stands at over $494 million and is only expected to earn more in the coming weeks due to less competition.

Although conversation may have momentarily shifted away from Paul King’s wonderful musical Wonka and over to the short-lived waking nightmare that was Glasgow’s Willy Wonka Experience, this prequel to Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory has now come to streaming, so we can enjoy the taste all over again. As we mentioned at the time in our review, and our chats with director Paul King and producer David Heyman, it’s a good hearted, funny, and joyful romp. Timothée Chalamet is charming and captivating; Olivia Colman is wonderfully larger than life; Hugh Grant is grouchy and funny; and Sally Hawkins as Willy’s mum is… a terrible mother.
Chalamet’s Willy was raised by his mother and, as he explains to the young orphan Noodle (Calah Lane), his love of chocolate and invention came from her. He misses her throughout the film and hopes their shared love of chocolate...

Timothée Chalamet has played many different types of characters throughout his career. From playing nobility to a warrior, a lovesick teenage boy, and a cannibal, his versatility as an actor is commendable, to say the least. Although he has worn many different faces, there is one thing that stays constant through all his characters; their physique.

A villain devised for the catastrophic Willy’s Chocolate Experience, who makes sweets and lives in walls, is to become the subject of a new horror movie
Loose inspiration aside, the film industry had little to do with Glasgow’s Willy Wonka experience, which went viral last week for its catastrophic ineptitude.
An AI-generated ad misled attendees into thinking they were forking out £35 for an “immersive experience” based on Paul King’s smash hit origin story starring Timothée Chalamet. Instead, they were ushered into a barely decorated warehouse some likened to a meth den, sparsely populated by vaguely costumed actors who quickly left, en masse.

Timothée Chalamet is by far one of the most promising young actors working in Hollywood today, after his standout performances in films like Call Me By Your Name, Little Women, and Dune. The actor has become one of the biggest stars in the film industry and after his recent performance as Duke Paul Atreides in Dune: Part Two, he is sure to become a household name worldwide. Dune 2 Star Timothee Chalamet Movies Ranked As Per Rotten Tomatoes. (Photo Credit – IMDb)
Timothee Chalamet is being lauded for his fantastic performance in Denis Villeneuve’s epic saga Dune 2. The film was released in the theatres on Friday, and it’s a visual treat for moviegoers. The film is one of the top-rated ones across various platforms, but Chalamet, over his short career span, has given several high-rated films.
Chalamet won hearts with his lively performance as Willy Wonka in last year’s Wonka. It became his career’s highest-grossing film as a leading man. But it seems Dune 2 might take away that title soon. He is essaying the character of Paul Atreides, and his ascension in this part has been remarkably shown. Scroll below for more.

It's time again for another Blu-ray round-up, physical media phans! This is a fairly packed edition, featuring Timothée Chalamet in "Wonka," Disney's recent animated flop "Wish," the YA prequel "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes," Nicolas Cage causing nightmares in "Dream Scenario," Sofia Coppola's biopic "Priscilla," and a new 4K release of Steven Soderbergh's pandemic thriller "Contagion."

Director Paul King is best known for delivering the first two installments of the charming and delightful "Paddington" franchise. Sadly, he won't be at the helm of "Paddington in Peru," the forthcoming third film in the series, but that's because he opted to step into the sweet world of Roald Dahl with "Wonka." The origin story of the famed chocolatier from "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" has become one of the biggest box office hits of 2023, and King is already working on potential ideas for a "Wonka" sequel. But 20 years ago, Paul King was just a scrappy young filmmaker cutting his teeth on a cult favorite comedy series across the pond.

It’s an interesting month on HBO and Max this March, as two acclaimed films hit the streamer along with some intriguing original programming.
First up in the movies arena is the streaming debut of Wonka, starring Timothée Chalamet. From beloved Paddington director Paul King, the film follows the adventures of a young Willy Wonka as he looks to become the world’s best (and weirdest) chocolatier. Later in March on Max, there’s also Dream Scenario, a highly-regarded comedy boasting Nicolas Cage as Paul Matthews, who suddenly starts appearing in people’s dreams for unknown reasons, and who naturally becomes very famous as a result of this strange phenomena.
Series-wise, the biggest show on Max this month is The Regime. It packs a solid cast, including Kate Winslet, Matthias Schoenaerts, Andrea Riseborough, Martha Plimpton, and Hugh Grant, and tells the story of “life within the walls of a modern...

Before "Wonka" became a box office hit, director Paul King had already carved out plenty of success with the critically acclaimed "Paddington" movies. Based on the beloved series of children's books, "Paddington" and "Paddington 2" are full of delightful, family-friendly humor and big beating hearts that push a wealth of kindness into the world (and they also politely take down British colonialism and xenophobia). While "Paddington" stands with a stellar 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, "Paddington 2" somehow managed to surpass the original and currently sits with a 99% critical rating. That love for the charming sequel was so overwhelming that it seeped into an unlikely project: a Nicolas Cage movie.

At the same time, he and fellow minds behind the movie don’t see a need to rush it into production. “It’s definitely something we’re thinking about…One of the things I love most about David Heyman, my producer, is that he has made so many great movies that he doesn’t feel the pressure to just make a movie because it can be made.

After arriving on the big screen just in time to take advantage of the holiday box office rush last year, "Wonka" is a certified hit. Not only did the movie from "Paddington" director Paul King please critics and audiences alike, but it's raked in over $608 million at the worldwide box office. In fact, it has managed to stay in the top 10 box office chart this whole time. Even as the movie is available on PVOD at home and poised to hit physical media on February 27, "Wonka" is still playing on over 2,300 screens.
Considering the star power of leading man Timothée Chalamet and that kind of financial success, it's likely that a "Wonka" sequel will end up in theaters sometime in the next few years. Though Warner Bros. Pictures hasn't yet announced a follow-up, Paul King is already talking about potential ideas with co-writer Simon Farnaby, so it's only a matter...

Paul King is "working on a script" for Tom Holland's Fred Astaire biopic. The 'Wonka' filmmaker is collaborating with 'Billy Elliot' screenwriter Lee Hall on a movie about the Hollywood film and dance icon and his tapping into the scribe's knowledge of the era to craft the story.Speaking to ComicBook.com, Paul said: "We're working on a script right now. I'm working on a script with Lee Hall, who's a great, great, great writer, a great screenwriter."And he's incredibly well versed in the era and he's historically, incredibly knowledgeable as well. Clearly, he knows his dance inside and out. So, I've been working with him and learning a huge amount."But again, it's like we're trying to find the story in the script and hopefully something will happen. But, we'll see."The film was first announced in 2021 and is said to centre on the...

‘Wonka 2’ Led By Timothee Chalamet Is On The Cards? Here’s What Director Paul King Says (Photo Credit – IMDb)
Timothee Chalamet-led Wonka did well at the box office upon its release last year. It became one of the highest-grossing films of Timothee’s career. The film was directed by Paul King, who shed some light on Wonka 2 after the success of the first film. People were skeptical about Chalamet stepping into the role of Willy Wonka, which was previously made iconic by Johnny Depp and the late star Gene Wilder.
The cast of Wonka included Hugh Grant, Rowan Atkinson, Olivia Colman, Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, Tom Davis, and more to support Timothee. It is a musical, and it was released around Christmas, which might have given it an edge as the families spend time together watching this fantasy flick with their loved ones. Scroll below for more.

Wonka will start streaming on Max next month, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav said today, outlining what he called a strong streaming content slate highlighted Warner Bros. films, including one of last quarter’s most successful theatrical releases amid some disappointments.
Zaslav noted the date speaking to investors on a call after quarterly earnings, which were mixed as the company engineers a slow turnaround.
Also coming to Max from Warner Bros., he noted, are Aquaman And The Last Kingdom on Feb. 27, and Dune: Part Two “this spring,” said Zaslav — no date. The Dennis Villeneuve sequel opens next week after being pushed from its opening last year due to Hollywood strikes.
Wonka, which opened in December at $39 million, has passed $211 million at the domestic box office and $608 million worldwide. The musical fantasy origin story of Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka, is directed by Paul King, who co-wrote the screenplay with Simon Farnaby.

10 weekends into its ridiculously impressive theatrical run, "Wonka" has passed a massive milestone. Director Paul King's prequel to Roald Dahl's beloved novel "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" has charmed its way past the $600 million mark at the global box office. Its run is undoubtedly nearing its end, but this proved to be a much bigger hit than anyone expected it to be. In the process, it helped get movie theaters through an incredibly difficult time. Plus, it sets Timothée Chalamet up for one heck of a year, as "Dune: Part 2" is just around the corner.
"Wonka" pulled in another $3.5 million this past weekend, putting it at number six on the charts even as both "Bob Marley: One Love" and "Madame Web" arrived in theaters. The chocolate-soaked musical actually posted an increase over its previous weekend haul of $3 million. Not bad for a movie that came out in mid-December.

Hugh Grant channeled his inner Oompa Loompa at the BAFTA Awards on Sunday night, where the “Wonka” actor was on hand to present the award for best director.

The stars and artists behind the biggest films of 2023 descended on London this weekend for the BAFTA Film Awards. British film’s biggest night is often seen as the best predictor of Oscar momentum before the Academy Awards and the results often mirror each other.
If that’s the case this year, it will be all “Oppenheimer” all the time. Universal’s Christopher Nolan epic took home many of the night’s biggest categories, winning the top prize of Best Film along with Best Director for Nolan, Leading Actor for Cillian Murphy, and Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr. The film also picked up major craft wins for Cinematography, Editing, and Original Score.
While the dominant showing makes an “Oppenheimer” Oscar sweep seem even more likely, Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Poor Things” won for Costume Design, Makeup & Hair, Production Design, and Visual Effects, and star Emma Stone won Leading Actress for her...

“Wonka” has notched another sweet box office benchmark. The fantasy musical, starring Timothée Chalamet as the eccentric, fictional chocolatier, has crossed $600 million globally.
After 10 weeks on the big screen, “Wonka” has generated $210 million in North America and $395.1 million internationally for a towering worldwide tally of $604.9 million. It’s a notable milestone because only seven films that were released in 2023 managed to surpass the $600 million mark.
Warner Bros. backed the $125 million-budgeted film, which has impressively remained in the top five on domestic box office charts since its debut in December. Chalamet’s star power, as well as brand recognition from Roald Dahl’s seminal novel “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” the 1971 film adaptation with Gene Wilder, and the 2005 reboot starring Johnny Depp, helped “Wonka” endure at the box office.

A quick Google search will reveal a whole lot of articles talking about the death of the "Movie Star" in the 21st century. Brands and IPs have replaced A-listers as the biggest selling points for films over the last 25 years, there's no denying that. Still, things may not be quite as dire as they appear. For one, audiences seem to be growing a little tired of the franchise model lately. For another, there's a small group of 20-something actors who are steadily making a bigger name for themselves and carving out a career much like the mega-stars of old did.
Their ranks include Timothée Chalamet and Florence Pugh, both of whom have been noticeably careful about the films they make and, just as importantly, the directors they work with. Between them, the pair have collaborated with the likes of Christopher Nolan, Luca Guadagnino, Paul King, Ari Aster, Wes Anderson, and...

Meanwhile, Henry Cavill-led Argylle opened to a poor reception here, and it is also the same at the South Korean box office. Keep scrolling to know.
The film, directed by Paul King, tells the origin story of Willy Wonka. The fictional character first appeared in the children’s novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. In 2005, Johnny Depp appeared as Willy Wonka in Tim Burton’s movie and was widely appreciated by the people. He and Gene Wilder set the standards too high for this character with their performances,...

Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle, the third Apple Original Films movie to go wide in cinemas, spied an estimated $35.3M global debut through Sunday, including $17.3M from 78 international box office markets. Wonka Box Office (North America) Hits $200 Million Milestone ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
Timothee Chalamet proved everyone’s convictions wrong about him when he got cast as Willy Wonka in the Paul King musical fantasy Wonka. He showed his caliber with notable box office numbers. Last month, it was released in Korean theatres and had a positive start there. Now, as per reports, it has scored big at the domestic box office. Keep scrolling for more.
Paul and Timothee’s movie was made on a budget of over $100 million, and it has successfully managed to rake in profits at the worldwide box office. One of the biggest criticisms the movie faced besides Timothee’s casting as the lead was Hugh Grant being in the role of an Oompa-Loompa. But the audience liked the performances, and things were good for all.
