Max Walter Schulz(1921-1991)

Max Walter Schulz was a writer, born 1921 in Scheibenberg in the Ore Mountains. After World War II, he came from American captivity and went home to what was now the Soviet occupation zone. For some time he worked as
auxiliary worker and Neulehrer and then studied pedagogy in Leipzig. In the 1950s he worked as a teacher and then studied at the "Literaturinstitut Johannes R. Becher", where he became principal in 1964. In 1983 he became the lead editor for the literary magazine "Sinn und Form". He died of heart failure in 1991 in Berlin.
Max Walter Schulz wrote novels, essays and narratives.
