Los Angeles-area native, Carolyn Weidell is an owner of six28
Productions LLC, a multi-media entertainment company. Ms. Weidell's
role at six28 Productions is to build a viable business by overseeing
six28's strategic vision and focus, selection of product, and
day-to-day operations. Her extensive business background includes a
recent corporate position as Chief Operating Officer for a Los
Angeles-based aerial mapping firm. This firm is known as the leader in
the LiDAR industry, and it served as the technical advisor for the
recent film Deja vu, starring Denzel Washington. Ms. Weidell's business
background also includes a lengthy career with FedEx Express, where she
served in mulitple senior operations management positions. While at
FedEx Ms. Weidell served as a consultant for the Tom Hanks film Cast
Away. Following FedEx she gained start up experience with two
companies, and eventually gravitated toward the film production
business, working first for the Chicago-based independent film company,
Strata Productions. During her two years with Strata she played a
variety of roles, including on location managing talent needs for
courtroom drama Heavens Fall starring Timothy Hutton and David
Strathairn, and in the Chicago headquarters managing projects,
including investor relations. Ms. Weidell's creative passion is
writing. Originally a poet, her interest turned to film and stage in
1999, when she trained in screen writing at Writers Boot Camp in Santa
Monica, CA. She has since written several film treatments and a stage
play. Ms Weidell began developing these and other projects with
partner, Tracy Burns as six28 Productions in 2005. They now own four
projects and are in negotiations to own two more stories for film. Ms.
Weidell's academic background includes some course work toward a Ph.D.
in Organizational Psychology (the psychology of corporations) at the
California School of Professional Psychology, Los
Angeles.
