James Patterson‘s most popular fictional figure is getting another screen adaptation in Cross, and from the looks of the first trailer, this Amazon Prime Video original is going to be a doozy. More than 13 years ago, the world said goodbye to Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub) after eight seasons on the USA Network. Monk is a genius detective riddled with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and dozens of phobias. And yet, these very qualities make him such an astute investigator — "It's a gift and a curse." Now, fans get one more sample of Monk's gift with a follow-up movie, "Mr. Monk's Last Case." The film is not a "legacy sequel" as is the trend these days, but a classical post-series TV reunion movie. It's not just the main cast that returns either, but "Monk" co-creators Andy Breckmann and David Hoberman and prolific series director Randy Zisk. The reunion feels complete because of it, since their presence means the storytelling of "Mr. Monk's Last Case" feels like, well, "Monk."

One of the USA Network's most beloved television series is "Monk," which aired from 2002 to 2009. A police procedural comedy owing a lot to Sherlock Holmes (but set in 2000s San Francisco), the show followed Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub). A detective with crippling obsessive-compulsive disorder (Ocd) and social anxiety, Monk was once a police officer but retired after the death of his wife Trudy. He semi-comes out of retirement years later as a private consultant and that's when the series begins. Thanks to his performance as Monk, Shalhoub won three Emmys for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series, and the finale ("Mr. Monk and the End") broke cable ratings records.
In 2020, Shalhoub and his castmates starred in a mini-reunion for Peacock, "Monk In Quarantine." Monk, an infamous germaphobe, goes the extra mile with safety precautions during the Covid-19 pandemic while his friends check in on him over Zoom. Evidently,...

Acclaimed mystery-comedy series "Monk," starring Tony Shalhoub as the world's most brilliant, yet neurotic, detective is getting a movie follow-up. "Mr. Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie" will be distributed by Peacock.
The original "Monk" ran for eight seasons, between 2002 to 2009, on USA Network. A riff on Sherlock Holmes set in modern-day San Francisco, the lead character Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub) is a detective afflicted with obsessive-compulsive disorder. This makes him brilliant at his job — he catches details and remembers things no one else does — but also socially awkward. Monk retired from the San Francisco police after the murder of his beloved wife Trudy (Melora Hardin), the one case he never solved. The series follows him coming out of retirement as he tries to solve Trudy's murder — and handles plenty of other investigations along the way.
This movie is set to be a true reunion, too. Shalhoub will be returning...

Mel McKeon and Laura Myones Ruf have been working side by side so long that it’s common they finish each other’s sentences. That comes in helpful, especially now, as the veteran talent managers have a lot to talk about.
It’s been a year since the two, who started working together in 1997 with Myones starting as McKeon’s assistant, rebranded their McKeon/Myones Entertainment to Afa Prime Talent, a transition that has signaled a new era for their management-production company.
Together, they have maintained a client roster of busy actors including Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid’s Tale), Sarah Shahi (Black Adam, Sex/Life), Alona Tal (Cross), Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool 2, Invasion), Vivian Wu (Afterparty, Irma Vep), Michael Trucco (Average Joe), Thomas Barbusca (The Mick, Chad), Sean Patrick Thomas (Till, For All Mankind and The Boys spinoff Gen V), Missi Pyle (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Y: The Last Man), Elaine Hendrix...

Exclusive: Sharon Taylor (Fire Country) has joined the cast of the Amazon Original series Cross, which stars Aldis Hodge in the role of Alex Cross.
Taylor will portray Lt. Oracene Massey and replaces the originally cast Karen LeBlanc, who exited due to scheduling conflicts, Deadline hears.
Lt. Massey is Alex’s immediate superior at the Metro Pd. She is a tireless self-promoter who understands that advancement doesn’t always have anything to do with catching the bad guys, but with pleasing those higher up. In the series, she is pregnant.
From Paramount Television Studios and Skydance Television, Cross is described as a complex and twisted thriller created by producer and writer Ben Watkins and based on the best-selling Alex Cross book series by James Patterson.
Alex is a detective and forensic psychologist, uniquely capable of digging into the psyches of killers and their victims, in order to identify — and ultimately capture — the murderers.

Upon returning home from Syria, Jason (David Boreanaz) may at first be focused on trying to find a reason to spin up again and also spend time personal time with Mandy (Jessica Paré), but that changes once he hears about what’s going on with Clay (Max Thieriot). Sonny’s (A.J. Buckley) the one to find him sleeping in his bed after Clay walked out on Stella (Alona Tal) and suggest a boys trip hunting to make up for lost time with his battle boo. There’s a compelling kernel of something interesting at the heart of Grimcutty, the new Hulu film by writer/director John Ross. The film is a treatise on hysterical helicopter parents, the dangers of social media challenges and the growing concern about how much screen time is healthy. These are valid (albeit not entirely new) concerns, and horror is a great lens through which to explore them.
The issue isn’t Grimcutty’s premise, but rather its execution. This is a messy film, complete with substantial logic gaps, more than one scenery-chewing performance, and a run time that isn’t earned by its relatively thin, repetitive script.
The film opens solidly: mother Melinda Jaynes (Alona Tal) locks her young son Brandon (Kayden Alexander Koshelev) in his bedroom at night, seemingly in an effort to protect him from the lurking figure of Grimcutty (Joel Ezra Hebner) outside. When Brandon sneaks out...

Deadline revealed in May that Thieriot would pull double duty by returning to Seal Team, while also starring in Fire Country, after it was picked up to series, with the latter being a passion project for him.
“It’s obviously a juggle, but thankfully, we started Seal Team season six before we started shooting episode two of Fire Country, so I was able to work it right into the gap in between,” he said at CBS’ virtual TCA press day.
“It’s been crazy, but life’s crazy. I got a couple of kids to throw in there and moving around up to Vancouver to shoot a TV show. But I’m young, and I can keep up. I like staying busy,...

Few things are as universally creepy as an old-fashioned urban legend. Kept alive through scary retellings at sleepovers and campfire tales, the information age ushered in by the internet had all but killed the wonder and fascination with these stories. That is until a new form of urban legend was born — the creepypasta. Slenderman is arguably the most well-known creepypasta, with the online meme unfortunately inspiring a very real murder attempt. This real-life violence has now allowed creepypastas to reignite the torch of power that the Internet extinguished from classic urban legends, and has given horror creatives a whole new playground to explore.

To say that Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester’s (Jensen Ackles) love lives over the 15 seasons of Supernatural were tragic would be an understatement. Relationships crashed and burned just like Winchesters and their loved ones died. So even though one character who was a possible love interest for one of the brothers did end up dying fighting alongside the Winchesters, chances are that would’ve happened anyway, even if she’d had a different backstory, as was apparently possible. Season 2 introduced Sam and Dean to The Roadhouse, Ellen (Samantha Ferris) and Jo Harvelle (Alona Tal), and Ash (Chad Lindberg). And after Jo joined the brothers on a hunt in “No Exit,” the truth about the Harvelles’ history with John Winchester (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) was revealed. Though John and Jo’s father usually both hunted alone, they teamed up — and, as Jo told Dean after a conversation with her mom,...
