Fans of Happy Endings will soon have a way to relive the moments from the show.
Casey Wilson and costar Adam Pally will co-host a Happy Endings rewatch podcast, premiering next week, People reports.
“We interviewed everybody and it’s so dumb and so silly. It’s really ridiculous,” says Wilson, who publicist Penny Hartz in the ABC sitcom during its three-season run.
Happy Endings starred Wilson, Pally, Eliza Coupe, Elisha Cuthbert, Zachary Knighton and Damon Wayans Jr. The series followed the six as best friends living in Chicago. It ended in 2014.
There is some hope of a revival, Wilson said, although business complications are making that a slow process.
“Which couldn’t be more boring,” she says.

Fire up the ribs, alert the staff at Rosita’s and wake up Chad the underwear monster because the curse of Penny’s birthday has been lifted! A soul-killing 11 years ago this month, the world lost one of the greatest TV comedies to ever be mistreated by a network: Happy Endings. After three seasons and probably twice as many time-slot changes, the eminently quotable, easily rewatchable ABC sitcom created by David Caspe delivered its traditional season-finale wedding episode. At the time, none of us knew that it would be the last we’d see of Chicago hot mess Penny Hartz, her gay bestie Max Blum (Knuckles‘ Adam Pally) and unrequited crush Dave Rose (Zachary Knighton), his on-off girlfriend Alex Kerkovich (Elisha Cuthbert), her sister Jane (Eliza Coupe) and brother-in-law Brad Williams (Damon Wayans Jr.). But like the sun blasting through your drawn shades, three days after going into ...

ABC’s ratings-challenged Happy Endings created a cult following thanks to its relatable stories about a group of friends in their late 20s and early 30s. While the comedy helped to launch the careers of stars Eliza Coupe (Jane), Elisha Cuthbert (Alex), Zachary Knighton (Dave), Adam Pally (Max), Damon Wayans Jr. (Brad) and Casey Wilson (Penny), behind the scenes, the Sony-produced series created by David Caspe was effectively its own showrunner training program. As Rutherford Falls creator Sierra Teller Ornelas revealed in a recent Twitter thread, Happy Endings had 23 writers over its three seasons, with an incredible 21 — including assistants — becoming showrunners.
During this week’s TV’s Top 5 podcast, hosts Lesley Goldberg and Daniel Fienberg reunite 14 of the Happy Endings writers to build off Ornelas’ thread and discuss, in light of the ongoing Writers Guild strike, the benefits of having a traditional writers rooms, why having writers on set...

Warner Bros. Discovery has been in and out of the news a lot lately. From its ruthless new attitude toward its films and shows to its perpetual (yet worrisome) money games, there's reason to be concerned — that is, if you're one to keep tabs on that sort of thing. Recent drama aside though, Warner's streaming platform, HBO Max, still boasts one of the strongest catalogs in the game. Even with the merciless culling and routine roster rotations, there's still a ton of good to discover each month.
March will signal another shake-up for the streaming library: HBO Max will be removing quite a few movies and shows this month. Fortunately, there's still plenty of time to check out some of the best projects before they're gone. Let's take a look at the best movies and shows leaving HBO Max in March.

In this era of so-called peak TV, television networks, cable channels, and streaming services continue to disgorge a head-spinning array of content on a seemingly daily basis. Watching all this content is simply a physical impossibility for one person. Given the sheer volume of television shows competing for viewers' attention, it's not surprising that a select few shows will inevitably rise to the top while others face the cruel axe of cancellation.
Yet this has always been the case since not every TV series deserves to become a hit. However, there have also been many shows that were high-quality but never quite managed to find the audiences that they should have.
This is particularly true when it comes to the situation comedy, which is a genre that dates back to the earliest days of television and has remained a staple with viewers. Some sitcoms, such as "Friends," "Seinfeld," and "The Office,...

It would be possible to do a list of the best TV episodes of 2022 without placing any restrictions on it. That list would probably include five or six Atlanta episodes (including “The Goof Who Sat By the Door,” “Work Ethic!” and “Snip Hunt” from the final season), another three or four episodes from Reservation Dogs (including “Stay Gold Cheesy Boy,” “Mabel” and “Offerings”), and at least as many from Better Call Saul (out of 13 episodes, choose almost any one), Barry (starting with “710N”) and Better Things (take the series finale and work backwards). And that would be the list!
So instead, as usual, we set one simple if arbitrary restriction: no episodes from shows on either of our Top 10 lists. So between our lists — Dan’s Top 10 and Angie’s Top 10 — that eliminated 17 shows. But these are 10 great episodes (in alphabetical order by...

Murderville is returning for a special episode this holiday season. On the Netflix murder mystery-comedy series, senior detective Terry Seattle (Will Arnett) will investigate the murder of Santa. In the episode, Arnett will be joined by Jason Bateman, Maya Rudolph, Eliza Coupe, Kurt Braunohler, Haneefah Wood, Lilan Bowden, Dennice Cisneros, Tawny Newsome, and Courtney Parchman.
The Murderville series debuted in February with six episodes. There's been no word yet on the possibility of a second season, but decisions are typically made within a month or two of a show's debut. We’ll be meeting the elusive Wright sibling Lawrence (Matthew Wilkas) in So Help Me Todd‘s Thanksgiving episode, but there’s even juicier news: The CBS dramedy will soon introduce us to the other character we’ve been dying to meet since the show’s September debut: Veronica! Eliza Coupe has been cast as the private eye/mentor who seduced and deceived Todd (Skylar Astin) two years ago, making him believe that they were equal partners in their detective agency when she was really setting him up to be the fall guy for her illegal wiretapping and forgery. Todd’s mother, law partner Margaret Wright (Marcia Gay Harden), kept him out of jail but he was stripped of his P.I. license. In the series opener, Margaret hired him as an investigator at her firm and he’s been working on her cases — whether he’s actually assigned to or not — ever since.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from the first season of “Reboot,” which is streaming on Hulu.
Steven Levitan’s “Reboot” is a dysfunctional family reunion of sorts. The Hulu meta comedy follows the stars of a fictional 2000s sitcom, “Step Right Up,” returning 20 years later for a revival of the show. Keegan-Michael Key’s pretentious thespian Reed, Judy Greer’s jet-setting duchess Bree and Johnny Knoxville’s dirty comic Clay never thought they’d be back on this set, but some career missteps, a messy divorce and a few stints in jail have landed them all back in the same place.
Throughout the season, Greer’s character Bree actively sabotages a younger co-star who threatens to outshine her, overstays her welcome in the writers’ room and, in the Oct. 25 finale, majorly messes up in a taped interview: After finding out her ex-husband, the duke of a made-up Nordic country,...

Coming off the greatest success of his career, an award-winning writer and producer chooses an ambitious follow-up project carrying both a personal and professional edge. It’s exactly what you want to see from a sharp-minded, well-liked creator like Steven Levitan: Rather than rest on his laurels or repeat himself, the “Modern Family” engineer set his mind to a topical, tricky TV show in “Reboot,” a Hulu series about an early aught broadcast sitcom that gets a present-day revival… at Hulu. The fictional comedy’s original cast even returns, along with its creator, and the group has to navigate rekindling romances, generational divides, and matters of family, all while guiding the new-and-improved version of “Step Right Up” to success in the age of streaming.

Elisha Cuthbert is opening up about the pressures she experienced as a young actress in the early 2000s.
The “Cellar” star, 39, recently appeared on Rachel Bilson’s “Broad Ideas” podcast and shared that she felt she didn’t have an option when it came to posing for sexually-suggestive photoshoots in men’s magazine such as Maxim and FHM if she wanted to promote her career as an actress in her 20s.
“There was really no option back then,” Cuthbert said. “That’s what the [film] studio wanted you to do.”

The cancellations, they keep a-coming. Like ABC's "Queens" and "Promised Land," Fox's "Pivoting" boasts a 100 rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but that was not enough to save it or its network cousin, "Our Kind of People," from meeting the same fate as those two shows. Deadline reports that Fox has canceled both "Pivoting" and "Our Kind of People" after one season.
"Pivoting" premiered in January of this year, and it starred Maggie Q, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Eliza Coupe as three Long Island women coping with the death of their childhood friend. Per the official synopsis, their manner of coping involved hitting the reset button and pivoting to new life paths...

Pivoting was a surprise cancelation at Fox after it emerged that the critically acclaimed comedy would not return for a second season.
The move came after lengthy negotiations between the network and studio Warner Bros Television.
Michael Thorn, President of Entertainment at Fox, said that canceling the show, which stars Eliza Coupe, Ginnifer Goodwin and Maggie Q, was a “hard call”.
“Liz Astrof and Aaron Kaplan are great partners and we have to make tough decisions. We had to look at it holistically, not just as a show, but as a business and in this case we were sorry not to renew it,” he said.
Pivoting had been considered a strong bet for renewal. A favorite of the Fox brass, the show had a rare 100 on Rotten Tomatoes as one of the best-reviewed new broadcast series and also was a strong performer on Hulu, which the network has been able to monetize.

Fox is clearing out some more series as it plans for the 2022-23 TV season.
The latest cancellations come in the form of freshman drama Our Kind of People and freshman comedy Pivoting. Our Kind of People launched in the fall with an A+ cast consisting of Yaya DaCosta, Joe Morton, and Morris Chestnut.
It was a sudsy primetime soap created by former mixed-ish showrunner Karin Gist and executive-produced by Empire's Lee Daniels.
The series didn't get the warmest of welcomes from viewers, averaging 1.3 million viewers and a 0.3 rating, coming in just ahead of the already canceled Big Leap.
While the numbers were far below what the network expected, it was a consistent performer, which can help shows eke out a renewal in this day and age.
A recent report from Deadline said that the series was a strong performer on the Fox-owned Tubi, which gave the network pause when it was considering canceling it.

Fox has canceled freshman shows “Pivoting” and “Our Kind of People.”
“Pivoting” starred Eliza Coupe as Amy, Ginnifer Goodwin as Jodie and Maggie Q as Sarah. The single-camera comedy, written by “2 Broke Girls” and “The Conners” alum Liz Astrof, followed three women after the death of their childhood best friend. Faced with the reality that life is short and in a desperate attempt to find happiness, they make a series of impulsive, ill-advised and self-indulgent decisions, strengthening their bond and proving it’s never too late to screw up your life.
The comedy debuted in January and had a 10-episode run.
Created by Wendy Calhoun, “Our Kind of People” starred Yaya DaCosta as Angela Vaughn. It followed strong-willed, single mom Angela (DaCosta) as she set out to reclaim her family’s name and make an impact with her revolutionary haircare line for Black women. But she quickly discovered a...

In Fox’s new comedy Pivoting, the unfortunate death of a childhood friend forces three women to reevaluate their stagnant lives.
At the top of the premiere, we meet Amy (Happy Endings‘ Eliza Coupe), a producer of a morning cooking show whose job gives her the excuse she needs to parent from a distance. Then there’s Sarah (Designated Survivor‘s Maggie Q), a recently divorced doctor whose gig at the hospital prevents her from relaxing — and from day-drinking, an important adult pastime for those of us over 30. Lastly, Jodie (Once Upon a Time‘s Ginnifer Goodwin), a mom who’s unhappy in her marriage,...

Covid-19 doesn’t seem to exist in the world of “Pivoting,” but it doesn’t have to for the show’s premise to ring true to life as we now know it. While the idea of seizing the day is nothing new, reevaluating your life and direction in light of a loved one’s death is, to say the least, a pretty relatable concept right now. For creator Liz Astrof to tackle that scenario, not to mention through a comedic lens, is a sharp and timely idea for a series, even if it’s not entirely clear what that series could look like further down the line.
Reeling from the sudden death of their high school friend, Jodie (Ginnifer Goodwin), Sarah (Maggie Q), and Amy (Eliza Coupe) take a closer look at their own lives and decide they don’t love what they see. The show only reveals bits and...

Are network sitcoms making a comeback? Not too long ago, things looked dire for the genre — NBC didn’t even bother to put a single comedy on its fall primetime lineup — but CBS’ Ghosts, ABC’s Abbott Elementary and NBC’s Grand Crew have proven to be reliable sources of laughs already this season. And that hot streak continues with Fox’s newcomer Pivoting (premiering this Sunday at 8:30/7:30c; I’ve seen the first three episodes), a low-key hangout comedy bolstered by a very strong trio of lead actresses and an irreverent energy that helps lighten up a very heavy topic.

Eliza Coupe, Ginnifer Goodwin & Maggie Q enter new chapters of their lives after a beloved friend passes away in Fox’s upcoming comedy Pivoting, from Liz Astrof.
Set to premiere Sunday, Jan. 9 at 8:30 p.m, Pivoting follows three women after the death of their childhood best friend. Faced with the reality that life is short, in desperate attempts to find happiness, they make a series of impulsive, ill-advised and self-indulgent decisions, strengthening their bond proving it’s never too late to screw up your life.
During its TCA press day, Fox unveiled the trailer for the comedy, which sees the leading women find new sense of style, take up new family dynamics, get back on the dating scene and more.
“If Colleen’s death has taught us anything, it’s that we have to live our best lives now,” Goodwin says in the clip.
