- Second Unit Director or Assistant Director
- Producer
Born Rosalva Margarita Gonzalez (named after her paternal grandmother
and her mother), the oldest of two girls, to Marco Antonio and
Margarita Gonzalez in San Antonio, Texas. Her film-making career
started rather early at 15 years old when she attended the Film School
of San Antonio at Harlandale High School under the instruction of
George Ozuna and Dagoberto Patlan. While at the school, she sparked an
interest in Cinematography. After her graduation in 2008, she skipped a
school sponsored trip to New York City in order to get an early start
at the University of Texas at Austin. Majoring in
Radio-Television-Film, she was a volunteer turned staff member for, the
"student run, student produced, FCC-licensed, digitally broadcasting
college television station in the country", Texas Student Television or
TSTV (KVR 9). While there, she floor managed almost a complete season
of "Video Game Hour Live", and was apart of the production team for the
shows "The Wingmen" and "That's Awesome". She was training to become
the Assistant Programming Director when for unknown reasons she had to
drop out of the university and head back home to San Antonio. Though,
her return to her hometown turned out to be very benefiting her career.
She started helping on local filmmaker's projects in any way she could,
hoping to get back into cinematography soon. Instead, she was
introduced into the world of the assistant directing department, after
commenting to a colleague that it seemed like fun. She immediately
proved that she had a strong work ethic and eye for film.
