Tobey Maguire went the extra mile to convince producers that he was the perfect guy for Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man. Several actors from Leonardo DiCaprio to Yellowstone‘s Wes Bentley were considered for the role, but Raimi was impressed with Maguire’s performance in The Cider House Rules. The studio didn’t think Maguire was the adrenaline-pumping superhero for the film, but The Great Gatsby actor proved them wrong.

Zendaya showed off her figure and her appetite as she lounged around a pool terrace in 2023. In BTS photos from her Elle shoot, the Challengers actress stunned in a gown fit for the red carpet, but the vibe was more casual snacking as she posed with a carton of takeout fries next to her. The photo, which opened a gallery of leggy looks from the 27-year-old's shoot, was reposted to an Instagram fan account in the fall of that year, and fans went wild over the whole fries thing.

Stan Lee is known as the man who gave the comics industry some of its greatest heroes, like the Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man and the X-Men. However, the comic creator is also quite famous for pulling pranks in the industry, especially on up-and-coming artists who he meets.

The comics creator’s cameos in the films that are based on Marvel characters were a highlight for many, which were all shot together to allow the aging creator some leeway. While he once used this opportunity to given Tom Holland an old-school ribbing about being cast as Spider-Man, the creator also got his pranking dukes up when meeting with the creator of Deadpool.

In video game development, choosing the right engine is similar to selecting the foundation for a building. It’s one of the most important decisions that can make or break an entire project. With the introduction of Unreal Engine 5, many studios were looking to build the game there.
However, for Larian Studios, simply selecting the latest engine for Baldur’s Gate 3 was not an easy pick as they have their own engine called Divinity 4.0. The temptation was there for the studio to use Unreal Engine 5, but they decided to stick with their own engine.

Before the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the main cast of one film seldom appeared in another’s story, unless the characters were in some sort of a spin-off situation. So when fans and audiences become privy to all the potential crossovers that they could have seen over the years, it is quite a frustrating situation, given that these stories were not over-saturated with easter eggs and corporate product placement.

We lost a good many Avengers in the great battle against Thanos – Captain America, Black Widow, Vision – but perhaps the one that still gets fans really emotional is the death of Robert Downey Jr.’s ‘Iron Man.’ Happily, after 15 years of playing Tony Stark / Iron Man in three movies and across the Marvel

Avengers, re-assemble!
Variety has reported that Shawn Levy, reliable director of “Night at the Museum,” “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian,” and “Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb” is “in the mix” to helm the next “Avengers” superhero team-up for Marvel. In late July, his promised-to-be-potty-mouthed R-rated “Deadpool & Wolverine” will hit theaters and, clearly, Marvel’s leader, Kevin Feige, liked what he saw.
Marvel is in desperate need of a course correction after some wobbly entries like “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” “The Marvels,” and “Thor: Love and Thunder.” There was once a time when the Marvel opening logo was enough to print money and create cultural resonance, but those days have begun to wane, due in part to a glut of Disney+ streaming shows and the fact that “Avengers: Endgame” really did seem like a nice place to end the story. Being one of the most popular superheroes, Spider-Man has been the subject of numerous adaptations, each representing its own iterations of Peter Parker and the web-slinger. While some of these have become a fan favorite, such as Tobey Maguire, and achieved huge commercial success, such as Tom Holland’s venture into the MCU, Andrew Garfield’s stint as The Amazing Spider-Man remains the least favorite.

Garfield’s films are not only considered subpar but have also underperformed at the box office comparatively. However, as all the Spider-Man movies once again hit the theatres in celebration of Columbia Pictures’ 100th anniversary, the worst-rated adaptation has managed to surpass the MCU blockbuster No Way Home.

Marvel fans seem to be in for something truly great considering how, after X-Men: The Animated Series recently got its blockbuster sequel series, it seems now is the turn for the Spider-Man animated series to get its succeeding show. However, that is yet to be officially greenlit, with only cameos supporting fans’ hope of getting a subsequent series.

For the past three films, Jon Watts has re-introduced the world to Spider-Man and Tom Holland‘s version of the Marvel character has become the most popular incarnation thus far. However, Watts has stepped down from directing dues in the upcoming sequel. There’s been plenty of rumors about who could step into that spot, but two names have consistently come up: Drew Goddard and Justin Lin. Both have high credentials. Drew Goddard is known as the writer of the acclaimed Daredevil series on Netflix. He also did The Cabin in the Woods and Bad Times at The El Royale. Justin Lin...

The first trailer for the final instalment in Sony Pictures' Venom trilogy, The Last Dance, was released yesterday, and while the footage didn't feature many major reveals, we did get confirmation that a villainous Symbiote teased in the previous movie will appear.
Towards the end of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, it was heavily implied that corrupt detective Pat Mulligan (Stephen Graham) had merged with a piece of the Carnage Symbiote. Mulligan returns in the trailer for The Last Dance, but the closed captions for the character's dialogue label him as Toxin.
"As long as Venom lives, everything, everyone will end," he says as the teaser cuts to shots of Venom in action.
It remains to be seen if Toxin is actually unleashed in this movie, but it would seem like an odd move to use the name in the subtitles if we weren't going to see Mulligan transform at least once.

Ever since Marvel traumatized their fans through Spider-Man: No Way Home’s ending, audiences have been curious about what the fourth film will bring. Spider-Man 4 will start a new chapter for the character, no longer having a safety net and moving on with his life after being forgotten by the world.
Spider-Man: No Way Home I Sony Pictures
While the earlier films had lighter tones, bringing about an almost child-like essence, it can be expected that the new trilogy is certainly going to be different. If the new films adopt a darker tone, there is no better way to establish such a theme than through a good villain.
Tom Holland in Spider-Man: No Way Home I Sony Pictures
Although Spider-Man has plenty of terrifyingly menacing villains, with Mephisto’s games, King Pin’s flexible moral compass, and Kraven’s hunt, there may be an option better suited for the fourth film; Morlun.

A few hours down the line, Sony dropped the much-anticipated trailer for Venom: The Last Dance. The third iteration of the franchise helmed by Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock previewed some of the most iconic scenes that it had in store and took fans over by storm. Additionally, it also highlighted a sense of tension and brought forward the fact that it could indeed be the last time that the symbiotic relationship rolls on the screens, at least for the British actor.

The trailer debut also marked Hardy as the only other actor in Sony’s Spider-Man universe to complete a trilogy of movies after Tobey Maguire. Regardless of such highs, the teaser also threw numbing plot inconsistencies. Baldur’s Gate 3 emerged as a favorite for critics and consumers in 2023; apart from being a commercial success, the game also dominated video game awards. In an interview with Samantha Béart, one of the voice actors for the game, something interesting was revealed.
The game’s developer, Larian Studios, used a strategy that Marvel Studios has also used. The strategy, despised by Tom Holland, also worked well for the independent game studio and probably ensured no unrequited leaks in the creative funnel.

Actor/ director and comedian Jordan Peele has been the mastermind behind some of the most talked about horror movies, including Get Out, Us, and of course, Nope. However, his recent cinematic journey as a producer has not been quite as promising as Dev Patel’s very own Monkey Man, despite the hype, was far from making a splash at the box office.

Certainly, Peele deserves a break, and his recent meeting with Marvel Executives might just change his fate. With the recent report, fans might wonder what project Peele would pick up. While most fans almost believed that he would direct Mahershala Ali’s Blade, we think he might just land on a different exciting project, given Yann Demange is set to direct Blade (if Marvel Studios is still sticking with him).

Since the inception of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, excluding Spider-Man, the only thing that has gone their way till now is the Venom franchise. Even though the first movie failed to win over critics and was panned critically, it made enough splash at the box office to warrant a sequel and keep Sony’s strive for an interconnected universe alive.
However, apart from Venom, Sony’s attempt at a villain-centric universe hasn’t worked out well, as two of their last releases were both critical and box-office failures. But with the threequel on the way, whose first trailer has been released, it seems this might not be the last of the Symbiote.

Tom Hardy is back, and so is Venom, and yes, the two are still the same. Sony released the trailer for Venom: The Last Dance earlier today, and it seemingly puts our beloved Eddie Brock in the face of a disaster that he simply cannot escape from, without dying. The trailer gives fans an insight into what they can expect from the upcoming movie, and needless to say, it does not suggest a happy ending for Venom, or Brock.

Have rumors of the superhero movie demise been greatly exaggerated? At a time when even the vaunted Marvel Cinematic Universe has gone through some rough patches and the entire live-action DC Universe undergoes a total creative reboot, the luster seems to have finally worn off the industry's golden goose. Too bad nobody appears to have delivered that memo to the wackiest odd-couple pairing in the entire genre ... or to the legions of fans looking forward to turning their latest antics into more viral memes.

In Venom: Let There Be Carnage's post-credits scene, Eddie Brock was teleported from his reality to Earth-616 (a.k.a. the Marvel Cinematic Universe).
His beaten-up Mexico hotel was replaced by what looked like a 5* resort, with the Venom Symbiote taking great interest in a TV news report about the wall-crawler. The stage was then set for a meeting between the two characters, only for Spider-Man: No Way Home to end with the reveal that Eddie never left his resort.
However, Venom did leave a piece of himself behind on Earth-616 in a scene clearly meant to open the door to Tom Holland's Peter Parker getting his own alien suit.
With Eddie sent back to where he came from, only a bartender - played by Ted Lasso's Cristo Fernández - was left to comment on the fact his sole customer vanished without paying his tab.

Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for Venom: The Last Dance, and this is far from an initial teaser, packing in quite a bit of action-packed footage from what is being marketed as the final instalment in the franchise.
It seems the Symbiote has finally managed to convince Eddie Brock to embrace being a "lethal protector" and start doling out some vigilante justice, as we see them dispatch a group of goons in typically violent fashion.
Venom's actions begin to bring unwanted attention, however, as it's revealed that Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange) and Juno Temple's (Ted Lasso) characters have been tasked with tracking Brock down - and we also learn that members of the Symbiote's alien race have taken an interest.

The 2000s was an interesting time for cinema. Let’s face it: it was an interesting time in general. In the realm of horror, the beginning of the aughts saw an influx of remakes of J-Horror – some bad, some pretty decent. However, with the post-9/11 cultural climate heightening anxieties and desensitization to violence due to real-world events, another genre emerged, tapping into the darker side of human nature. First coined by David Edelstein in a 2006 article in New York magazine, “torture porn” took the roots of exploitation and splatter films of the 70s and 80s and reintroduced the mainstream audiences to a new level of explicit brutality. Films like Saw, Hostel, The Devil’s Rejects, and the New Extremity of French Horror were raw and unapologetic looks at human depravity. It was everywhere. I mean, there was a time when you couldn’t go more than a year without having a Saw film.

Eddie Brock and his…better(?) half “may not make it out of [this one] alive.” That’s probably why the third and final film in the “Venom” series is subtitled “The Last Dance.”
On Monday, Sony Pictures released the trailer for the Marvel movie that officially makes “Venom” a trilogy. You would think by now the Tom Hardy character and his frenemy alien symbiote would have their timing down a bit better, but an early (and comedic) scene in the official trailer proves they’ve still got some work to do. The levity soon gives way to Brock/Venom biting four guys’ heads off — classic Venom.
In “Venom: The Last Dance,” the guys are on the lam — and it’s not just their Earth enemies who are closing in. The film’s tagline is “‘Til Death Do They Part,” which does not particularly promise a happy ending.

They are Venom, and they are officially back — Sony Pictures has dropped the first trailer for “Venom: The Last Dance,” the final movie in the Spider-Man villain trilogy.
Tom Hardy returns as Eddie Brock, better known as the brain-eating, symbiote villain Venom from the Spider-Man comics. Sony is touting “The Last Dance” as “the final film in the trilogy.” According to the logline, “Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.”
In the trailer, Hardy faces a massive, symbiote alien from Venom’s home planet, on top of being hunted by government agents. There’s plenty of symbiote action, plus a scene where Hardy rides a super-fast, Venom-ized horse. Joining Hardy is “Ted Lasso” star Juno Temple and...

Marvel's best couple is coming back to try and save Sony's woebegone live-action Spider-Verse one final time. With "Morbius" failing to make "It's Morbin' Time!" happen and "Madame Web" falling harder than Dakota Johnson trying to pop the lid on a soda can, it's up to Tom Hardy's lobster tank-diving journalist Eddie Brock and his tater tots-snacking, gooey-hearted (and just plain gooey) boyfriend Venom to keep the studio's hopes of a viable "Spider-Man" extended universe alive. (At least until Aaron Taylor-Johnson's nose-biting Kraven the Hunter arrives to usher in the next Yuletide season classic.)
"Venom: The Last Dance" sees "Venom" and "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" co-writer Kelly Marcel trying her hand at directing for the first time, once again drawing from a story she cooked up with Hardy. The pair have gradually become the main creative driving force behind this franchise over the course of the trilogy,...

Kornel Mundruczo (Pieces Of A Woman) has signed on to direct The Revolution According To Kamo, a biopic about the friendship between Simon Arshaki Ter-Petrosyan aka “Kamo” and his best childhood friend “Soso” who would go on to become Joseph Stalin.
Mundrcuczo’s frequent collaborator Kata Weber has adapted an original screenplay by Pawel Pawlikowski and Ben Hopkins.
Spanning 30 years between 1891 and Kamo’s death in 1922, the Georgian-language film is described as “a portrait of the birth of the world’s most murderous dictator through the eyes of his best friend, ally, devoted disciple, and henchman.” The two grew up together in the small town of Gori close to Tbilisi. Stalin was born into extreme poverty while Kamo’s family were wealthy merchants. Although Soso leaves Gori to attend a seminary, the two are reunited in their late teens in Tbilisi where the charismatic Soso has become an agitator and...
