The CW used to be the ideal network for soapy teen dramas, sci-fi vampires and werewolf series, and DC superhero shows.
Now, it's a disappointing shell of those days.
The Vampire Diaries premiered back in 2009 and led to two additional spinoffs, while DC's Arrow began in 2012 and also began a massive franchise.
The CW used to include soapy dramas or sci-fi series, such as Supernatural, which launched Jared Padalecki's career.
The CW has only four original series left, and Superman & Lois will air its final season in the fall.
All American and All American: Homecoming are all on the bubble, while Walker was canceled. It seems like The CW has changed its' identity, and it's not favorable.
We long to return to those glory days when The CW ruled TV fandoms.

The Vampire Diaries was the crown jewel of The CW's line-up for several seasons.
The series wrapped its run in 2017 after eight romance and drama-filled seasons.
Paul Wesley recently spoke out against returning to that universe, and it has started a conversation about whether a reboot should come to pass.
In a new interview with Andy Cohen on Radio Andy, Nina Dobrev thinks people shouldn't even be talking about a reboot because "the show didn't even end that long ago."
"I'm very close with Paul [Wesley] and Kayla [Ewell] and Candice [Accola], and Kat [Graham], and the list goes on because it was such a big part of our lives for so many years.
"So it's hard not to stay in touch with everybody and see them when we can."
Wesley confirmed he was done with all things vampire-related, so Andy asked whether Nina was feeling the same.

From 2009 to 2017 on The CW, The Vampire Diaries was a fan favorite. The supernatural teen drama’s main characters — Elena Gilbert (played by Nina Dobrev), Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley), and Damon Salvatore (and Ian Somerhalder) — kept viewers thrilled till the very end of the eight-season hit. But the heroes (and villains-turned-heroes) would be nothing without baddies to battle in Mystic Falls. Years after the series finale, Tvd diehards still have strong opinions about which fiend is best. Below are the top five Vampire Diaries villains according to fan votes on Ranker and MsMojo.

For eight seasons, The Vampire Diaries fans watched the blood-sucking brothers Damon Salvatore and Stefan Salvatore fall and rise. Both redeemed themselves by the end of the series. And though viewers picked their favorites, The Vampire Diaries co-creator Kevin Williamson revealed which Salvatore brother he believes became the better man.

The Vampire Diaries has captivated audiences for years, primarily due to its love triangle involving Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and vampire siblings Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley). Damon is the older brother and initially presents himself as the bad boy. He’s the more impulsive of the two and often makes decisions without considering their deadly consequences.

While The Vampire Diaries featured plenty of supernatural drama, it remained a story of love, loss, and redemption at its core. The series finale was a fitting tribute to the characters who had become so beloved by fans throughout its eight-season run.
One of the most iconic relationships of the series was between Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder). The final episode gave viewers a bittersweet glimpse into their future.
In the end, Damon and Elena eventually grow old together. When they die, they both still looked incredibly young. According to co-creator Kevin Williamson, there’s a simple reason why the couple didn’t age.

Fans dearly miss The Vampire Diaries and its spinoff The Originals. With Legacies canceled and a fourth series yet to get greenlit, Tvd diehards are forced to revisit older material. But one Vampire Diaries Season 5 plotline might have even the biggest fans reaching for the remote to skip ahead.

But now that enthusiasts are taking to social media to discuss their series rewatches, the reaction is somewhat different. Plugged-in fans likely know where this is going: We’re talking about the Travelers.

Nina Dobrev looked classy in a mini dress for a fashion show.
The Canadian actress, most well-known for playing Elena Gilbert in the famous show Vampire Diaries, attended the Michael Kors Collection show at New York Fashion Week. She put on a simple white dress and a stunning white coat to protect herself from the elements, but still looked amazing without trying.
Dobrev decided to add a little extra touch with black leather, thigh-high boots.
She accessorized with a little black clutch, some tiny diamond hoops, and a couple of silver rings.
The actress let her dark brown hair down, straightened it, and parted it down the middle.
Her makeup was mainly natural, except for a very bold red lip.

Tribrid Hope is a lot of fun, but is anyone getting major Katherine Pierce vibes from her?
Legacies Season 4 Episode 6 sent Hope on a mission to learn more about Triad Industries, or whatever they call themselves these days.
Hope and Ryan have always had this tremendous dynamic on-screen, and it was considerably more intriguing with Hope as this all-powerful being who could ruin his life.
Ryan shacking up with the first woman he found to live that human life was predictable, but you could tell he was out of his element.
All he wanted was a life that had some semblance of normal. He spent so much time working for his father, being a villain, and everything in-between.
Hopefully, he isn't dragged into another wicked plot, but his girlfriend's excitement about talking about vampires was somewhat concerning.
Ryan was right that there is still some humanity inside of Hope because,...

The Vampire Diaries may have ended its run over three years ago, but thanks to the power of streaming, new fans are still finding the series.
A new viral video hit the internet in which a teenager took issue with one of the most heartbreaking deaths of the entire series.
On The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 16, Stefan (Paul Wesley) sacrifices himself in order to kill Katherine Pierce and save Mystic Falls from being obliterated.
“That’s B.S., I can’t!” the fan screams in the backseat of her mother’s car, clearly upset at the events of the episode.
Her mom, who shared the video as Jessica De Pierri, says the following:
“I hope you cry like this when I die! Or grandma!”
Jessica shared the video to Twitter, writing the following:
"My teenager seriously has a problem...lol," in a tweet to Paul Wesley.
“This is too good!

Chances are, if you watched The Vampire Diaries, you had a strong opinion on the show's protagonist, Elena Gilbert.
You might have loved her, or you might have hated her, but there weren't too many viewers who fell in between.
If you're the latter, know you're not alone.
Essentially every character on the show preferred Elena over her doppelganger, Katherine Pierce. When first watching the series at a young age, as I did, you can't help but agree. Elena is good, and Katherine is bad. Plain and simple.
But every time you rewatch a show, you learn something new about it. And when you rewatch as an adult, you start to see it in an entirely new light. One thing that stood out, in particular, is how well rounded of a character Katherine is in comparison to Elena.
While Katherine openly admits to her selfish tendencies, Elena hides behind her own personal code of conduct.

Josie Saltzman is finally getting the makeover her portrayer has always wanted.
“I’d been talking about Dark Josie with [Legacies executive producers] Julie Plec and Brett Matthews since I got cast in the role,” Kaylee Bryant told TVLine and other outlets during a recent set visit. Referring back to the time Josie set Penelope on fire, she acknowledged, “Clearly, there was something in this girl that was really dark. I kind of had this image of what Josie going dark would mean to me, and that — mixed in with hair and makeup and wardrobe, plus Julie’s input — culminated into this gothic Katherine Pierce school girl look.

At the center of every great TV series, is a villain that viewers love to hate. These villains help propel the narrative forward as they introduced new obstacles for the other characters.
Some of those villains made it to the list of our favorite big bads of the decade.
Please remember that with have almost two dozen favorites lists that we couldn't showcase every show on every list, so we parsed them out a bit to make it more fun.
And these lists are not in any particular order. They're in the order the entries were received by TV Fanatic staff, so don't read into them!

We are still months away from the premiere of Legacies Season 2, but the excitement is at an all-time high.
Showrunner, Julie Plec has confirmed to TV Guide that another vampire will be part of the show's orbit during the sophomore run.
Sadly, this vampire will not be one from The Vampire Diaries or The Originals, but if Legacies Season 1 proved anything, it was that it could stand on its own two feet.
The new vampire will be very old, like older than Damon and Stefan Salvatore, and even Katherine Pierce.
"We're really excited about a new character that we're introducing," Plec told the website.

If you thought Mystic Falls was deadly with the likes of the Mikaelsons, Katherine Pierce, and Kai, then you're probably wondering whether any of the villains that came before these mythical creatures would have stood a chance at winning a battle with them.
The Vampire Diaries and The Originals were well-known for the stunning twists, but Legacies has taken the best elements of both shows that came before it, thrown in some distinctly different ingredients and blended it into a unique drama.
On Legacies Season 1 Episode 4, the villain of the week was an enormous spider, and while the crumbs were cleverly plotted throughout the installment, I was still in disbelief when the thing appeared on the screen.
CW shows have lower budgets than shows on the big four networks. That's what happens when shows have much lower ratings, but the CGI on that spider was nothing short of amazing.
