- Alison Kuhn is a German-Vietnamese film director, actress and writer. She was born in 1995 in Saarbrücken, Germany. After having graduated in acting, she studied directing at Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF in Potsdam as a scholarship holder of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation. Her first feature length documentary "The Case You" celebrated its world premiere at IDFA in 2020 and was honored with the German Documentary Award for Art and Culture. In 2021, her fictional short film "Fluffy Tales" was nominated for the Golden Lola at the German Short Film Award. It was screened at the 2022 Cannes International Film Festival as part of German Films' "Next Generation" program. Her medium-length film "The Swarmers" (German: "Schwarmtiere") earned her a nomination for the First Steps Award 2022. It also received a Special Mention at the 62. Krakow Film Festival and was screened at AFI FEST, Palm Springs International ShortFest or Hof International Film Festival. In 2022, she directed the series "Druck", the German adaptation of the Norwegian series "Skam". In 2023, she directed the mini-series "WatchMe".
