- Ungyu started living off his parents, after seeing his British fiancée, Rebekah, and their cat son, Dobby, off. The goal had been to go together, but his visa was delayed by COVID-19 and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It was just good to see his Mom and Dad again at the start, but over time, he started to feel bored, and depressed, in his isolation... You may think it deals with too many things; emigration from South Korea to the United Kingdom, visa issuance, COVID-19, war, depression, illness, and even family ties. But this film is more a visual representation of my reflection, considering the best way one can maintain familial relationships- and rediscovering the meaning of "family ties"- throughout such monumental life changes. Many of my films, similar to this, are created in a documentary style with an observational point of view as a sort of memoir. I believe this style allows me to efficiently articulate the subject matter, through a conflict between the expectation for seeking the truth from a documentary genre and the feeling of engrossment from fictional storytelling.
