Dua Lipa is schooling Saturday Night Live on the bad blood between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.
During a local news segment sketch, the “Dance The Night Away” singer appeared as a culture critic Wanda Weems to catch audiences up to speed on all the jabs the two rappers have taken at each other in diss tracks over the past few days.
But, as it turns out, Good Morning Greenville‘s culture reporter isn’t quite so tapped in.
“One clue on the song ‘Euphoria,’ when Kendrick describes Drake as Canadian, that’s because Drake is from Toronto,” she says, stating an obvious fact about the “Hotline Bling” rapper.
She continues, “And he calls Drake ‘Crodie,’ which is a term used by the Crips, which according to Wikipedia is an alliance of street gangs based in Southern California.”
While none of her insight is much more helpful than that, things take...

Children of the Sun is a pulpy fever dream developed by one man and published by Devolver Digital. If you took Suda 51’s Killer7, and combined it with Sniper Elite, SuperHot and Mandy, then you’d end up with something resembling René Rother’s Children of the Sun. It works beyond just being a dynamic piece of visual art too, containing some extremely satisfying gameplay that feels crunchy and tactile.
Children of the Sun is out now for PC.
Let’s just get the discussion of the game’s visuals out of the way first, because Children of the Sun is truly striking to look at. In terms of its presentation, it resembles a particularly nasty 70s grindhouse movie that has been thoroughly soaked in bleach. It is extremely stylish, at times reminding me a lot of the visual flair seen in El Paso, Elsewhere.

The best way to describe the truly odd experience of Shines Over: The Damned is as a vibes-only game. The question with anything that is a vibes-only experience is whether those vibes are significant enough to compensate for the other aspects of the experience that are lacking. Unfortunately for this game, the answer to that question is no. As cool as some of the presentation and soundtrack is here, the actual meat of the experience is almost non-existent.
Shines Over: The Damned is out now and is available exclusively on PS5.
Everything about Shines Over: The Damned is vague, and in some instances that totally works. The dark and oppressive world that the game is set in has no real rhyme or reason to it, the character that you play as has no name, no weapons and no human companions to help them. The only thing the player does have...

Being a homeowner can sometimes be its own little horror story. Just this week, I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with a wet spot that showed up on my wall after it rained and how to handle finding a black widow in my backyard garden. In real life, I’ve got to either do it myself or figure out who to call to get it taken care of. In the world of Home Safety Hotline, a new game from the developers of Night Signal, all you have to do is call the titular service for any problems your having around the house. The game casts you as an operator helping callers figure out what’s wrong with their house, ranging from mundane problems, like bees or termites, to issues of a more supernatural nature, like bed teeth and attic gnomes.
The gameplay loop is a relatively simple one.

If there’s something strange in your neighbourhood, you call the Ghostbusters. But what about something happening in your own home? Developer Nick Lives and Night Signal Entertainment (the creators behind Night Signal) has the answer with Home Safety Hotline, their upcoming 90s call center horror title.
Releasing on Steam on January 16th, Home Safety Hotline tasks you with assisting callers about their questions about what pests are inside their home. Using the totally-not-Windows 98 interface (and accompanied by David Johnsen‘s lo-fi score), you field incoming callers’ questions about what “pests” they’re experiencing inside their home. Using the catalog of common pests and household hazards, your must do your best to become an expert in home safety.
Of course, you could always just hang up and leave them to their problems. But as you might expect, regardless of your actions (or inaction), you will be held responsible for what happens.

Rapper Drake has added a new face tattoo above his right eyebrow, an Arabic phrase ‘miskeen’. The new tattoo was first spotted by HipHopDX after photographer Brent Kore posted an image of the father of one’s tattoo on his Instagram, reports People magazine.
‘Miskeen’ is a commonly used phrase amongst the Somali community in the rapper’s hometown of Toronto. According to Now Toronto and the Daily Sentinel, the phrase could have two different meanings, the first being a way to describe someone who is “poor” or “pathetic,” while the second definition is used to describe someone who is a “sweet” or “innocent” person.
Now Toronto added that Toronto residents likely have heard the phrase used with the latter meaning. As per People, Drake has yet to post a photo to his personal Instagram or confirm the tattoo’s significance.

Puppet Combo are spreading the holiday horror cheer this month with the announcement that their 2021 stealth slasher Christmas Massacre is heading to PlayStation consoles on November 17th for $11.99 Usd. Previously released on Steam, those of you who enjoyed Hotline Miami and Manhunt will no doubt be at home with this reverse horror experience.
As you might expect from Puppet Combo, Christmas Massacre makes use of those chunky, low-poly graphics we all know and love, and combines it with the love of 80s slashers for a wholly unique experience. The story of Christmas Massacre is simple: In 1959, on a fateful Christmas Day, young Larry’s hopes of attending the Christmas party at his Catholic school are dashed by the head nun’s refusal. Consumed by rage, he takes up a knife and embarks on a brutal spree, leaving behind a trail of carnage and a wounded nun.

John Wick is arguably the most simple-to-understand blockbuster franchise to have come out in the 21st century. As blockbusters and high-value IPs continue to lean heavily on reliable nostalgia pops, name brand recognition, and in-universe lore expansion, John Wick thrives on the simplicity of its high-concept hook. 4 movies in and despite a gradually built-in lore to keep the universe alive, John Wick’s appeal boils down to two factors: an inciting revenge story and nonstop, bone-crunching action.
It is a formula regularly found in the world of action video games, wherein the story – or what little of it there actually is – serves almost purely as the inciting incident for the exhilarating action we hope to experience. John Wick has delved into the land of gaming within its IP, first with the 2017 VR shooter, John Wick Chronicles. Followed in 2019 with the tactical RPG game John Wick Hex, the franchise’s attempts...
