- TriviaThe Pilot Episode begins with actor Larry Anderson playing Michael Long. After realizing that an opening scene (the casino act) was required to make sense of the plot additional scenes were abruptly written. Larry was called late in the afternoon to an audition, got the call that evening, and was on set the next day. Hasselhoff later dubbed over the lines, noticeable by the scene in the car with Tanya that his mouth and sound do not seem to match exactly. In the scene on the side of the road, Hasselhoff takes over for Larry but his face is hidden in darkness throughout the scene. Larry was not credited on the show. (adapted from "Don't Hassel the Hoff: the Autobiography" by David Hasselhoff and David Thompson; pg 64)
- GoofsThe copyright date at the end of the closing credits is wrong. It reads "MCMLXXVII" in Roman numerals, or 1977. The "V" should have been another "X," which would have given the correct date of 1982.

- Alternate versionsWhen this was originally aired, Larry Anderson's real voice was used for Michael Long. In subsequent airings, David Hasselhoff's voice is dubbed over.

a 80s icon
Knight of the Phoenix was the pilot for the Knight Rider series. This show was so great it one of the 80s icons. There as been so many remakes of this series but this is the one that stands out. K.I.T.T is the first attraction for the show but once every women see David Hasselhoff thats what makes them come back every week. I believe they couldn't have picked any one better for the role of Michael Knight. As for the other actors they were great to like Edward Mulhare as Devon. Patricia McPherson as Bonnie Barstow now she was great and it was sad to see her leave but it was great when she came back. The one thing this show lacked in was romance, we thought one of these days Michael and Bonnie will get together but it never happened. It didn't lack in it total we would see Michael trying his best to make his move on Bonnie but half of the time she never got what he was trying to do. If you haven't see this you have no idea what your missing out on. I recommend you at the least give it a chance.
