When Cobra Kai returns to Netflix for its sixth and final season, the Karate Kid spinoff plans to expand the Miyagiverse significantly. The teen-focused drama Crane kicked martial arts action fans in the face in 2018, building on the Karate Kid legacy started by Ralph Macchio (Daniel Larusso), William Zabka (Johnny Lawrence), and Pat Morita (Mr. Miyagi). With every season, Cobra Kai has grown through fan-service casting, interpersonal drama, and hard-hitting action. No one could have predicted the Miyagiverse would expand the way it has because of Cobra Kai, and now the show’s co-creator, Jon Hurwitz, says fans can expect Season 6 to explore the franchise in exciting ways like never before!
In a thread on Twitter/X, Hurwitz assured fans the final season of the series delivers big surprises, in-depth character flashbacks, and plot elements that expand the Miyagiverse.
“Season 6 expands the ‘Karate Kid/Cobra Kai’ universe more than the first 5 seasons combined.

2023 saw the return of Frasier Crane in a "Frasier" revival series that was neither disappointing nor remarkable. But the good doctor must have done something right because Paramount has renewed the series for a second season. "Frasier" 2023 debuted in October last year with a full 10 episodes that saw Dr. Crane (Kelsey Grammer) return to Boston to reconnect with his son, Freddy (Jack Cutmore-Scott). Now, as Variety reports, CBS Studios, which produces this new iteration of"Frasier," will push ahead with a new slate of episodes, scheduled to once again shoot in front of a live audience at Paramount Studios. In response to the news, star Kelsey Grammer released a statement, saying:
"'Frasier' is a love story, and I am very happy we will be allowed to continue it. I'm delighted that our partners at CBS Studios and Paramount+ are on board for another season, and I can't wait...

David Hyde Pierce is an accomplished actor who's won awards for his various performances on stage and screen. But there's no doubt he's best known for playing the finicky Niles Crane, brother of the titular psychiatrist in "Frasier." Pierce won four Emmys for his performance in the beloved sitcom, which ran from 1993 through 2004, heralding what was basically the official end of the '90s when both it and "Friends" wrapped up in the same year.
To be fair, if all Pierce did in his career was play Niles, there'd be no problem. As the Washington Post put it in a 1996 profile of the actor, Pierce "may have been born to play Niles Crane." At the time, he'd been co-starring in "Frasier" for three years, but from the very first episode, he really did seem like the one and only choice to play Niles.

The episode of Revisited covering Psycho (1998) was Written, Edited, and Narrated by Kier Gomes, Produced by Tyler Nichols and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
In the early 1960s, movies like Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho were considered to be groundbreaking and controversial works of art that were not for the easily spooked. Stories like that, which tackle deep psychological struggles, paranoia, voyeurism, and even murder- were far from the horror genre’s mainstay creature features that were capturing audiences at the time. The movie was based on Robert Bloch’s 1959 novel which was published just in time for Hitchcock to purchase every copy in the United States right off the shelves of book stores in order to preserve the shock value of the story’s iconic twist ending. David Hyde Pierce, who is known for playing Niles Crane on Frasier, is addressing his absence from the Paramount+ revival which recently dropped its finale episode. The Julia actor spoke to The Los Angeles Times, about his work and decision to keep from returning to the franchise for its latest iteration. “It’s not like I said, ‘Oh, I don’t ever want to do that again.’ I loved every moment,” the Frasier alum said. (Credit: Joseph Viles / ©NBC / courtesy Everett Collection) “It was that I wanted to do other things,” he explained, noting that it wasn’t about not wanting to do the revival, but rather his desire to explore new opportunities. “And when we got into real talks about the reboot, I had just started on the Julia TV show and was working on a musical and going to do another musical. And I just thought, ‘I don...

Frasier Crane is back on our screens in a "Frasier" revival that's neither disappointing nor remarkable. The new show is in the unfortunate position of having to revive one of the most beloved sitcoms of all time without any of the supporting cast that made it such a hit during its original 1993-2004 run. The only cast member returning from the original sitcom is Kelsey Grammer himself — which, if you ask the "Frasier" star, isn't a bad thing as he is, after all, the key to the success of the show.
Sadly, that hasn't necessarily played out thus far, as the revival show manages to keep much of the humor and heart that defined the original but still somehow fails to capture its magic. After a heartwarming tribute to Martin Crane actor John Mahoney in the inaugural episode, "Frasier" 2023 sort of limps on while demonstrating flashes of the brilliance that...

It has been nearly 20 years since Dr. Crane “left the building,” bidding farewell on the NBC series “Frasier” that took home 37 Emmy Awards including five for Comedy Series. But now Kelsey Grammer has stepped into the role of his most enduring alter ego once more in a revival of the show on Paramount+. The first two episodes of the new series — which introduces a new ensemble cast surrounding Grammer as Frasier moves back to Boston, Ma — debut on Oct. 12 on the streamer.
By most accounts, critics have embraced Frasier’s idiosyncrasies all over again. As of this writing, the series has a 61 score on Metacritic, indicating “generally favorable” reviews. It has a similar 63% freshness score on Rotten Tomatoes, with their critical consensus reading, “With Kelsey Grammer safely back in the role he was born to play, ‘Frasier’ scores as comfort viewing even if it can’t quite compare to the classic original series.

One of the funny quirks about Scotland is that everyone can name a Scots actor, but very few can name famous Scottish TV shows. Beyond the standard native fare of cop shows and comedies, Scotland’s televisual output is well below its literary or film standing.
Of course, there’s Take The High Road (And if you get that reference, dear reader, you can mournfully reflect that you’re as old as me). But there are a few surprising gems beyond the cliched obsession with the Jacobites and Highland allure (ahem, Outlander).
In 1979, and all too briefly, The Omega Factor was BBC Scotland’s paranormal, Edinburgh-set drama. The series, as was so typical of (nearly) every show now considered iconic for the era, only ran for...
