If you tuned into the Fox Business Network during the first half-hour of Tuesday’s Republican Presidential Debate, no one would blame you for thinking you had the wrong channel.
Considering how quickly the three previous Gop debates have devolved into insult slingfests among the candidates, it was refreshing (if not totally puzzling) to watch the first 30 minutes of Tuesday’s panel unfold with civility and productive discussion.
Ok, maybe I’m being a little too generous. The debate’s opening half-hour wasn’t without its eyeroll-inducing moments, particularly when, nine minutes into the event, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio spoke...

Last week, I was given the unique opportunity to visit DisneyToon Studios, the division of Disney Animation that is responsible for the increasingly wonderful "Tinker Bell" and "Planes" movies. (Their building is right across the street from Disney Television Animation and it took every iota of my self-control not to dash across the walkway and start asking questions about "Gravity Falls" and "Wander Over Yonder.")
Essentially, the folks at DisneyToon Studios gave us a tour of Piston Peak National Park, the huge park at the center of "Planes: Fire & Rescue" (and, if you missed the movie, you really should make up for that -- it's out on DVD, Blu-ray, and Disney Movies Anywhere on November 4th).
In the movie, Dusty (Dane Cook), the erstwhile prop plane who dreamed of being a world-famous racer, is sidelined due to mechanical issues. He finds a new calling in his role as a...

In terms of performers-turned-filmmakers, they don’t come much bigger than Jodie Foster and George Clooney. Between them, they are responsible for some of the more interesting and satisfying TV and film projects of the last few years – from episodes of Orange Is The New Black and House Of Cards (Foster), to movies like Good Night And Good Luck and The Ides Of March (Clooney). The prospect of these two talents collaborating is an exciting one, to say the least – so it comes as no surprise that Money Monster is already heading straight for ‘highly anticipated’ status, with studios clambering for a piece of the action. TriStar now seems to have won that battle, with a financing package of $30 million.

Warwick Davis has only gotten cooler in my eyes since I started following his Twitter account. The "Harry Potter" and "Willow" star apparently set up a laser tag match this week with John Williams' "Star Wars" score playing in the background, which sounds like quite the celebration of sci-fi geekdom.
It was also a relief this morning to read that I wasn't the only one seeing little bird-shaped, multicolor avatars everywhere when I logged in to Twitter. Diablo Cody and Richard Kelly experienced the same thing with reactions similar to my own. If you know what I'm talking about, or want to find out, click on down below and read their posts, along with Peter Facinelli's exhausting end-of-day tweet from the "Eclipse" set and a Selena Gomez Alma Award pic for all you "Wizard of Waverly Place" fans. They're in the Twitter-Wood report for September 18, 2009.
