Two more stories were included in "The Exciting Adventures of Super Grover"' named "I Felt Like a 98oz. Weakling, says Betty Lou" (which spoofs the old Charles Atlas ads) and "Super Grover Meets Hot Fudge Man: A Short but Sweet Story", but those stories are not seen in the video, likely for time constraints. In addition, Super Grover's demonstration "Super flying" passage is omitted from the book as well.
Caroll Spinney, Fran Brill, and Frank Oz were all available to reprise their roles from the Sesame Street (1969) show; but Jim Henson, Jerry Nelson, and Sonia Manzano were not available to perform voices. In order to compensate for this, Brill redubbed in the dialogue for Maria and the character is renamed "Dolores" for this video. As Will Lee passed away in 1982 (three years before the release of this video), all of Mr. Hooper's dialogue was given to Big Bird to speak instead. Additionally, Bert spoke for Herry Monster. For all of the other cases, the narrator described the lines said by the Count and Ernie.
