In August 2020, Ryan Reynolds debuted a movie streaming service called Mint Mobile+, which only streams the movie Foolproof. The service has various categories, but all of them only contain the one movie with different posters.
The movie was not only the widest release of a Canadian movie in history (as of October 2003), but had a record-breaking marketing budget of $2 million.
The website that Rob is logging onto when he finds a diamond in his keyboard is www.heistmania.com. In reality, the site was non-existent. As of September 2018, it's home to an unpopulated Wordpress site.
Despite being the rare Canadian movie to get a wide release and a huge promotional budget, it was a box office disaster, grossing only $200,000 its first weekend.
One popular theory by critics and moviegoers as to why the movie was a huge box office flop was that at the time of its release, its main star Ryan Reynolds was nowhere near being the superstar and household name that he become in Hollywood several years later.
