ABC recently unveiled its 2024-2025 primetime schedule, which sees the network airing just five scripted series, including new dramas “High Potential” and “Doctor Odyssey.” “Grey’s Anatomy” will shift one hour to the 10:00 p.m. slot on Thursdays while the network will mark the return of “The Wonderful World of Disney” to its schedule.
ABC
“Dancing with the Stars” will be moving to Tuesday nights so that the network can air consistent programming that won’t be interrupted by “Monday Night Football” broadcasts scheduled for select Mondays. Said Monday night programming options will be announced at a later date.
Following “Dancing with the Stars” will be “High Potential,” written by Oscar-nominated Drew Goddard and based on the popular French series. The crime procedural stars Kaitlin Olson as Morgan, a single mom with an exceptional mind whose unconventional knack for solving crimes leads to an unusual and unstoppable partnership with a by-the-book seasoned detective.

“The Golden Bachelor was probably the television event last year,” ABC TV Group President Craig Erwich said in an interview with Deadline on the day of the Disney upfront presentation. The Bachelor offshoot was so successful, it spawned a highly rated special, The Golden Wedding.
But just three months after Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist tied the knot, they filed for divorce having never lived together. The controversy raised questions about the future of the franchise whose previously ordered spinoff, The Golden Bachelorette, premieres this fall.
The Golden Bachelor is not going anywhere, Erwich suggested.
“I think Golden Bachelor is a show that’s about finding love at a later age. It’s incredibly root-able, it’s aspirational, and that franchise and those values extend to a lot of different people and a lot of different stories. So we’re very dedicated to this franchise,” he said.

Well, if you had tried to get us to guess the ABC 2024-25 fall season announcement, we couldn’t have predicted much of it.
There are new shows sprinkled throughout, but ABC is going almost full reality, which is a choice.
Let’s see what we’ve got to work with here.
Two new shows will interest TV Fanatics: High Potential, starring Kaitlin Olson, which was delayed due to the strikes, and Doctor Odyssey, starring Joshua Jackson as a cruise ship doctor.
High Potential gets a 10/9c slot on Tuesdays after Dancing with the Stars.
Despite the relationship disaster of The Golden Bachelor, ABC is dedicating an hour and a half weekly to The Golden Bachelorette while snuggling award-winning comedy Abbott Elementary between that and a docuseries called Scamanda.
Thursdays find Doctor Odyssey after 9-1-1 and before Grey’s Anatomy.
And TV Fanatic favorites The Rookie and Will Trent? Saved for midseason.

ABC will once again have Abbott Elementary as a centerpiece of its Wednesday night in 2024-25 — but it will begin the season without any companion comedies.
The Emmy-winning series will move back a half-hour to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, with The Golden Bachelorette (which will run 90 minutes each week, up from an hour for The Golden Bachelor last fall) as its lead-in. The rest of ABC’s comedy offerings for 2024-25 — including the final season of The Conners — will come in the second half of the season.
“We continue to be very dedicated to comedy. I think you’ll see that really come through in midseason,” Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview Tuesday, a few hours before Disney’s upfront presentation. “Because of the strikes [in 2023], there was a pause in some of our development plans. ABC is doubling down with Ryan Murphy on Thursday nights. The Alphabet network revealed a fall 2024 schedule on Tuesday that features the Murphy’s “9-1-1” and newcomer “Doctor Odyssey” on Thursday nights.
The move now turns the night — long the home for Shonda Rhimes’ hit “Tgit” franchises, into a bit of a “Tgim” — “Thank God It’s Murphy” — and shifts “Grey’s Anatomy” to 10 p.m.
Also, the network revealed that it is going with an “Abbott Elementary” island on Wednesdays, sandwiched between a 90-minute format for “The Golden Bachelorette” and then the unexpected, previously unannounced true crime ABC News docuseries “Scamanda.”
But don’t fret for “Abbott,” says Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich. He tells Variety that after the success of “The Golden Bachelor” in the fall, lead-in from “The Golden Bachelorette” will “position it to continue to garner both audience as well as the critical claim that it so deserves.

Propagate International has launched sales at Mipcom Cannes on The Reset, which will see contestants put through an immersive, medically progressive plant-based wellness program that seems impossible at first, but within days completely changes their minds, bodies, and souls. Each episode follows one couple on their journey as they are pushed outside their comfort zone. Propagate is selling this week and Tom Forman (Extreme Makeover: Home Edition) is producing. Youssef is a comedian satirist and former cardiologist who has previously been compared to The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart. He hosted Al Bernameg, a first-of-its-kind political satire show in the Middle East.

Ever since its inaugural season was honored with the 2018 Emmy for Best Structured Reality Program, “Queer Eye” has dominated the category and shows no signs of stopping. In its quest for its sixth consecutive victory, the lifestyle series faces four shows that have each lost to it at least once before and have existed for an average of 15 years. Included among them is “Shark Tank,” which won here four years in a row before “Queer Eye” came along and ended its streak.
Indeed, only “Shark Tank” and “Queer Eye” have triumphed in this category since it splintered off from the catch-all Best Reality Program one in 2014. The three 2023 nominees attempting to become the third series to take this specific prize are “Antiques Roadshow,” “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” and “Love Is Blind.”

Hulu is continuing its summer of true crime with new docuseries Betrayal: The Perfect Husband, which tells the story of a brave high school student who spoke up about being sexually assaulted by her teacher Spencer Herron.
The focus of this docuseries is one that true crime fans may already be familiar with through the hit podcast Betrayal, which explored Herron’s crimes. Hulu’s adaptation of the podcast attempts to add more depth to this story as it tracks how, while Herron was manipulating those around him, he was able to maintain the persona of a beloved teacher as well as a loving husband. Jenifer Faison thought she was living a fairytale romance with her college sweetheart until, one afternoon in June 2018, she discovered that the man she deemed to be her perfect husband was living a double life.

Now Henry Cavill’s arc as Geralt of Rivia is set to officially end with this batch of three episodes. Get ready for the Liam Hemsworth era, Witcher fans. Other Netflix Original series of note in July 2023 are The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 on July 6, Sonic Prime season 2 on July 13 and the animated comedy Captain Fall on July 28.
Meanwhile it’s a big month for Netflix’s original movies department. Adam Devine-starring comedy The Out-Laws premieres on July 7. That will be followed by Bird Box...

A house isn’t just a house — it’s a piece of the people who live there. And in designer Veronica Valencia’s new HGTV series, Revealed, renovations are based on clients’ heritage and culture. “I learned early on the importance of honoring your past,” says Valencia, who is of Mexican and Native American descent and was raised amid heirlooms and objects linked to important memories. “We used my grandma’s tortilla maker and thumbed through family photo albums scattered everywhere. I don’t think homes are meant to be precious or perfect; they’re meant to be lived in.” According to the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition alum, it’s easy to create this aesthetic — which, she cautions, “does not mean because you’re Irish, your home should resemble a gorgeous Irish castle…unless of course, that is what you want.” The purpose of these transformations is to discover how...

Modern Family finally wrapped up its run on ABC in 2020, but actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s career continues to flourish. He went from an accomplished stage actor to a beloved sitcom actor, and now he’s bringing those comedy chops to film. That third act was pushed forward by Ferguson’s husband. The pair have become something of a power couple, a successful producer and a talented actor elevating one another. So why did the Modern Family star spend so long lying about how they first met?

“Queer Eye” won Best Structured Reality Program at the Creative Arts Emmys on Saturday night, September 3. That was no surprise since the show had won for the previous four years in a row, but it was nevertheless historic. “Queer Eye” set a new record for the most victories ever for Best Reality Program (structured or unstructured). Check out the complete list of Creative Arts winners here.
Excluding competitive shows, where “The Amazing Race” is the all-time record holder with 10 victories, “Queer Eye” and “Shark Tank” were previously tied for the lead with four trophies each, and now “Queer Eye” stands alone with five. In fact, those two shows account for every single Emmy won in the Best Structured Reality Program race to date. “Queer Eye” is the front-runner to win Best Structured Reality Program at the Creative Arts Emmys this weekend, according to the combined predictions of over a thousand Gold Derby users. That would be no surprise since the show has won for the last four years in a row, but it would be historic. No reality program, structured or unstructured, has won five, so “Queer Eye” would be setting a new record. Check out our complete Creative Arts racetrack odds here.

Those two shows account for every single Emmy won thus far in the Best Structured Reality Program race. That category was established in 2014 to differentiate shows that “contain consistent story elements that mostly adhere to...
