The 2024 Cannes Film Festival was officially closed yesterday, on May 25, 2024, as the prizes for the movies and the actors were awarded at the closing ceremony. It was a very exciting and content-filled event, and we have also reported on numerous movies that had their premiere at Cannes, some of which were received well, while others… not so much. But, naturally, everyone wants to know who won and who lost at Cannes, and that is what we are going to report about in this article.
The article will be divided into two main sections. The first one will list all the juries at Cannes, since they are the ones who chose the winners at the film festival, so we think that it is only fair that you know who picked the winners. After that, we are going to list all the winners in each of the categories.

Phobia-ridden and driven by a sense of existential dread a man places an ad in the newspaper: prove the existence of life after death, win thirty thousand dollars. Of the many replies he receives, Miles narrows the applicants down to just three – a scientist, a medium and an entrepreneur.
First and foremost, We Go On is a road movie; a mother and her son, seeking answers. Like a downbeat Mulder and Scully, the sceptic (or flat-out unbeliever) and the agnostic, scrabbling for hope in a world which often terrifies the latter. Such a concept would be nothing without a strong pair of leads, and this it has in spades with Clark Freeman and the always wonderful Annette O’ Toole.

Prime Video has announced that we will get our first look at some footage from the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power tomorrow when the first teaser trailer is released online.
Production has been underway since late 2022 at Bray Studios, just outside London. Season 1 was shot in New Zealand, but the decision was made to change-up location because The UK is "considered more economical and is also where the company is establishing a multi-show hub."
The first season concluded with the reveal that the seemingly benevolent Halbrand was actually Sauron all along. The Dark Lord offered Galadriel the chance to join him once his ruse was discovered, and when she refused, he fled back to the Southlands (soon to be known as Mordor).
It was also heavily implied that "The Stranger" was really Gandalf, but this is yet to be confirmed by actor Daniel Weyman or the showrunners.

Now You See Me is arguably one of the most underrated heist-thriller franchises of the past decade: despite its high production budgets, star-studded ensemble cast, and absolute commercial success at the global box office, the films have barely been mentioned in the media and on social media platforms nearly 8 years after the release of the second installment.
However, from 2020 to 2023, Lionsgate has been actively releasing information about the upcoming sequel, teasing fans of the film series with updates on the production process. And now, just over a week ago, the media giant announced that Now You See Me 3 is already in post-production, and with that came exciting details about the upcoming cast.
What makes this news so exciting is that Lionsgate will be correcting a mistake that disappointed audiences with the release of the second film, as one of the central and certainly incredibly memorable characters was not able to reprise their role.

It’s always fun to discuss horror novels that Aren’T Stephen King. No knock on the monster from Maine, he’s the master of horror novels over the last, oh I don’t know, 50 years, for a reason but its nice to not have the show be solely dedicated to his adapted works. He says knowing that he makes the schedule and decides what books to cover. See you in May, Mr. King! Funnily enough, the man actually loved today’s subject to the degree that he called it one of 2006’s best horror novels, but more on that in a little bit. The Ruins (watch it Here) was one of those hot properties by an author whose previous work was an instant success with critics, fans, and studio executives that put it to celluloid. The book came out and just two years later we were given a movie...

In 2005 and in 2007, director Tim Story made a pair of feature films starring the Fantastic Four, one of Marvel Comics' most superlative titles. "Fantastic Four," created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, was more or less a family sitcom except the three family members and their best friend all happened to have superpowers. It was light and comedic, while also featuring bloviating, demonstrative supervillains who shouted regularly about the glories of world domination. It was a comic book series that declared itself to be The World's Greatest Comics Magazine!
Story's feature film adaptations were not very well received when they were released. 2005's "Fantastic Four" only bears a 28% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while its sequel, "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," only has a 38% approval rating. Moreso, Marvel Comics fans were harsh to Story's movies, hating their cartoony tone and corny scripts. It's worth acknowledging, however, that Story's...

Two big questions need to be answered as Magnum P.I. faces what's likely to be its final ten episodes.
When did its producers find out the end was coming? It was announced to the public in late June, but those involved with the series had to know long before that.
And did that give them any opportunity to tie storylines up at all? Since all of its episodes were in the can when NBC decided to divide the season into two ten-episode blocks, probably not.
When Stephen Hill (T.C.) did an exclusive interview with TV Fanatic in mid-April, he remained optimistic about the show's future.
"I want to go ten seasons," he said then. "I'll take all the seasons I can get. I love it here in Hawaii." Who wouldn't?
Right before CBS lowered the axe on the series after the fourth season, its creators provided a season finale...

May the Force be with… Emmy voters? Disney Plus amassed an impressive 40 Emmy nominations this year (up from 34 last year) thanks to its stable of “Star Wars” saga hits, which accounted for more than half of the mouse house’s total haul of 23 bids — nine for “The Mandalorian,” eight for “Andor,” five for “Obi-Wan Kenobi” and one for docuseries “Light & Magic.”
Although “Mandalorian” nabbed nine bids, the real success story this year is “Andor,” scoring a Best Drama Series nomination for its debut season plus writing and directing bids and five Creative Arts noms. The latest live-action series in the Disney-era “Star Wars” franchise, “Andor” serves as a prequel to “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” (2016) and also by extension to the original Oscar-winning classic “Star Wars” (1977).

With three “Star Wars” series competing for the first time in the same Emmy season — especially in the craft races — how can the critically acclaimed yet underperforming “Andor” hold its own against “The Mandalorian” (which has amassed 14 craft wins in two seasons), let alone the Jedi-infused “Obi-Wan Kenobi” limited series?

We’re so excited about Scream VI that we went a little crazy.
Now streaming exclusively on Screambox is Sssshhh, the incredibly rare Indian Scream remake in which a masked killer meets musical numbers.
In the 2003 film, “a serial killer is responsible for taking many lives including that of Malini and her boyfriend. The police are unable to comprehend especially when this killer leaves no evidence at every crime scene.” You can read all about Sssshhh right here.
But wait! There’s more!
Screambox is now the home of two other Bollywood remakes: Naina, a supernatural horror inspired by The Eye, and Neighbours, a vampire tale that borrows from Fright Night!
In Naina, after receiving an eye transplant, a young woman realizes that she can see into the supernatural world.
As for Neighbours, when a horror-obsessed teenager learns that her next-door neighbours are vampires, no one will believe her!

"If you meet a vampire, don't breathe." This is the sage advice that Master Kau, the Taoist priest played by Lam Ching-ying, gives to his bumbling apprentices, Man-choi (Ricky Hui) and Chau-sang (Chin Siu-ho), in the 1985 Hong Kong action comedy "Mr. Vampire."
Forget everything you know about bloodsuckers; the undead specimens in "Mr. Vampire" are breath-suckers. They have a very deliberate way of hopping with their arms stretched out in front of them, legs also stiff and straight from rigor mortis. In Chinese, these zombie-like revenants are known as the jiangshi; in Japanese, it's kyonshi, while in English, they're sometimes referred to as "Chinese hopping vampires."
Stirred up by the disinterment of a parent who was buried with bad feng shui, the jiangshi of "Mr. Vampire" are a comedic answer to the unsettled ghosts of subsequent Asian horror films like "Ringu" and "The Eye." They're the reanimated corpses of people...

ABC’s “The Bachelorette” snagged Monday night’s highest ratings in the advertiser-friendly 18-49 demographic (0.8) and the largest overall audience with 3.3 million total viewers. But overall, it was a quiet night in both ratings and viewership.
As audiences anxiously await the fall broadcast season, the major networks have done their best to maintain viewer interest. While live sports and unscripted reality programming has helped satiate the appetites for programming, not every night of primetime has been a ratings bonanza.
That’s reflected in the smaller than usual audience totals Monday night.

Bust out those golden buzzers because NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” scored both the highest ratings and the biggest overall audience among all broadcast networks in primetime Tuesday night. The long-running competition series earned an impressive 0.8 rating in the advertiser-friendly 18-49 demographic while also attracting 6.4 million total viewers.
Unsurprisingly, “AGT’s” massive totals helped prop NBC up as the highest-rated and most-watched broadcast network on the night. But that doesn’t mean that rival Big Four networks just packed up without a fight.

Hollywood and the West in general have been remaking some of the greatest Asian movies since the 60s, picking the most commercially successful and the most adaptable productions to bring to both American and worldwide audiences. A number of them were of equal or at least similar quality, with John Sturges’s “The Magnificent Seven” (based on “Seven Samurai”) and Sergio Leone’s “A Fistful of Dollars” (based on Yojimbo”) being some of the most prominent samples. At the same time, however, and particularly after the 90s, the quality of remakes decreased significantly, resulting in a series of remakes that can only be described as truly awful, even though, on occasion, they were directed by the same filmmakers who shot the originals. Here, we have included 15 of the worst ones, in random order.

Just in time for this year’s Emmy Awards, one of 2021’s starriest limited series will finally become broadly available to streaming viewers. This week, FX announced that Ryan Murphy’s remaining catalog of FX shows is officially on the move to Hulu, including “Impeachment,” which focused on the story of Monica Lewinsky (Beanie Feldstein) and Bill Clinton (Clive Owen).
In addition to “Impeachment” as well as the early cycles of “American Crime Story,” the third and final season of “Pose” will also migrate over to Hulu starting March 7. “Pose” Seasons 1 and 2 and the previous seasons of “Crime Story” were previously available on Netflix.
This new agreement with Hulu also applies to future seasons of “American Horror Story” and “American Crime Story.” The newest season of “AHS” is scheduled to be released sometime in the fall, marking it the first time a new season of the series will premiere on Hulu.

The Eye of The World (the episode and the location itself) presented many challenges for everyone, with a significant number of losses piling up.
The Dragon Reborn faced off against a formidable foe, and the entire city of Fal Dara faced off against the Dark One's army.
The Trollocs attacked Fal Dara, with Lord Agelmar losing his life for his city.
He took the front lines against the Trollocs and sacrificed himself for the sake of trying to save the rest of the world.

With every awards show, there are a few inevitabilities. One is that a random presenter, winner, or sketch participant will be such a hit that viewers immediately ask, “Hey, why isn’t [insert person’s name here] hosting the Emmys?” This year, that scene-stealer was Conan O’Brien. From his raucous welcome for Television Academy Chairman and CEO Frank Scherma, to his crestfallen response to John Oliver’s acceptance speech (props to Chrissy Shackelford for sharing her recently procured Emmy statue with her saddened tablemate), and how he randomly joined Stephen Colbert’s crew on-stage as the most enthusiastic non-winner of the night — Conan, as they say, was on.
But even if CBS somehow had the foresight to hire the outgoing nightly late-night titan (and soon-to-be weekly late-night host), then there would’ve been one less person of color featured in the Primetime Emmys’ spotlight — and this year’s show needed far more than it got.

To celebrate the release of Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins in UK cinemas, we sat down with some of the film’s eclectic ensemble to chat about the film.
Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins stars Henry Golding as Snake Eyes, a tenacious loner who is welcomed into an ancient Japanese clan called the Arashikage after saving the life of their heir apparent. Upon arrival in Japan, the Arashikage teach Snake Eyes the ways of the ninja warrior while also providing something he’s been longing for: a home. But, when secrets from his past are revealed, Snake Eyes’ honour and allegiance will be tested – even if that means losing the trust of those closest to him.
We were lucky enough to chat to Andrew Koji (Storm Shadow), Úrsula Corberó (Baroness), Samara Weaving (Scarlett) and Haruka Abe (Akiko) about the film, why the origin story is worthy of its own spin-off,...

"What does a world without me having to fight look like?" HBO has debuted a full official trailer for a new documentary called Eyes On the Prize: Hallowed Ground, streaming on HBO Max next week. The doc is a follow-up to the groundbreaking PBS series "Eyes on the Prize", a 14-part documentary on the 20th-century civil rights movement in the US. It debuted in 1987 and was recently referenced in Ava DuVernary's "When They See Us" series. Honoring the original "Eyes on the Prize," this doc special from Sophia Allison explores the profound journey for Black liberation. By giving lost stories a place to exist & spotlighting new voices for the future, Allison reflects on the moments that brought us to where we are – and where we're going. HBO wanted her to make a "more unconventional" doc, weaving the stories of the past together with Black peoples’ contemporary experiences. "I was a...

Ryan Murphy first told us about his idea for Studio 54: American Crime Story on Deadline’s Crew Call in June, and FX made it official today that the fourth installment of the series is in development.
FX Day @ TCA: Deadline’s Full Coverage
Studio 54: American Crime Story will tell the story of Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager, who in 1977 turned their Midtown Manhattan disco into an international mecca of nightlife for the rich and famous and commoners alike — renowned for its lavish parties, music, sex and open drug use. With Rubell and Schrager’s meteoric rise came their epic fall less than three years later when the impresarios were convicted of tax fraud.
In December 1978, Studio 54 was raided after Rubell had been quoted as saying that only the Mafia made more money than the club brought in. The business partners were charged with tax evasion, obstruction of justice,...

This week sees two new wide releases hit theaters, Snake Eyes and Old, and after last week’s expectations-smashing debut for Space Jam: A New Legacy, we feel like anything could happen at the box office. Many expect the top spot to be taken by Snake Eyes, the latest entry in the G.I. Joe franchise, but there could be an upset from Old, M. Night Shyamalan’s new supernatural mindbender, which is outrunning Snake Eyes in IMDb page views. They look like solid bets for the top two, and it should be noted that both are theatrical exclusives, but if they have sub-par performances and Space Jam holds strong, we could see the order of things shaken up. Whether or not the current uptick in Covid-19 cases impacts the box office this weekend is another open question.

Days before the Television Academy graced us with the nominations for the 2021 Emmy Awards, the organization announced its early plans for the Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony, scheduled for Sunday, September 19.
There was plenty of new and interesting tidbits about TV’s biggest evening revealed. First and foremost was the announcement that actor and comedian Cedric the Entertainer would be serving as host for this year’s ceremony, a choice that is both exciting and low-key historic.
Choosing the star of the CBS sitcom “The Neighborhood” isn’t exactly groundbreaking for a year in which CBS will be airing the ceremony, but what is slightly more out of the ordinary is The Eye opting not to put one its late-night stars in the role. With both Stephen Colbert — who hosted in 2017 — and James Corden — who has somewhat surprisingly never hosted — in the fold, it would have been an easy choice just...

For Your Eyes Only, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this week, was a transitional James Bond film. Released in 1981, this 12th entry in the long-running series, and Roger Moore’s fifth outing as the man in the tuxedo, was deliberately styled as a return to the 007’s roots after he went to space in the over-the-top Moonraker (1979): the one where series producers did their best to compete with Star Wars. By contrast Eyes seemed stripped down and also marked the debut of John Glen in the director’s chair—a position he would hold for a series-most five entries. He received that promotion after working on several previous installments as a second unit director.
But Eyes was also meant, at one point, to usher in the most important change in any Bond movie: the introduction of a new actor in the role of 007.
Roger Moore’s original contract was for three films,...

Lucy Dacus delivered an inventive performance of “Brando” on Jimmy Kimmel Live Monday, June 21st.
Filmed at the Virginia Repertory Theatre in Richmond, Virginia, the shot goes from gauzy black and white as Dacus and her band kick off the show to vivid color as a couple appear on stage and dance to the rest of the song.
“Brando” will appear on Dacus’ upcoming third album, Home Video, which will arrive June 25th via Matador. Other previously released singles include “Vbs,” “Hot and Heavy,” and “Thumbs. Home Video follows Dacus’ 2018 album,...

Throughout the annals of story-driven toy properties, there has rarely been a rivalry as complex as the one between G.I. Joe characters Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. Yet, adapting that relationship is a task that upcoming movie Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins will boldly attempt to tackle, albeit with some contextually-necessary alterations to the classic comic book story famously crafted by writer Larry Hama. While such changes tend to be abhorred by longtime fans, they will manifest with the blessing of Hama himself.
A revelatory new trailer and featurette for Snake Eyes has arrived, further pulling back the story curtain than this past May’s teaser trailer. While it was always apparent that the film—a prequel serving to launch a completely new iteration of the Hasbro film franchise—was going to put a contemporary spin on Hama’s defining origin story, the specifics have been revealed about how...

Stars: Clayton Farris, Damian Joseph Quinn, Elizabeth Grullon, Adam Nemet, Paul T. Taylor, Misty Bones, Clay Acker | Written by Justin Xavier | Directed by David Del Rio
Director David Del Rio and writer Justin Xavier, the duo who gave us the twisted Christmas story Sick for Toys, are back with Road Head, a bizarre, raunchy, and occasionally bloody, horror comedy with a distinct LGBTQ+ element. Can this tale of a road trip from hell bring you satisfaction? Or is this one time you should actually decline road head?
Bryan (Clayton Farris; Foster Boy) and his boyfriend Alex just wanted to go on a road trip to Isola Lake out in the desert. Unfortunately Bryan’s bestie Stephanie (Elizabeth Grullon; Killing Lazarus) got dumped by her boyfriend and decides to play third wheel despite the fact she and Alex don’t get along.
To make matters worse the lake turns out to be dried out.
