Even if "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania" is arguably the lowest point in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and marked the beginning of what seems to be the end of its dominance in pop culture and box office, there is no denying that the first two "Ant-Man" movies are fantastic. They serve important roles in balancing out rather bleak and dense chapters in the Infinity Saga with some light fun that also grounds the universe and shows how regular people live outside of the big world-ending events.
A big part of the fun is Scott Lang's group of friends turned co-workers in his X-Con Security crew, which includes David Dastmalchian's Kurt — who delivers the best bit in either of the two movies. The bit begins when the crew hears about the second film ("Ant-Man and The Wasp")'s villain, Ghost, who has the ability to turn invisible. Kurt wastes...

Nathan Fillion thought Ant-Man was a low-rung superhero before he saw Paul Rudd carrying the role easily. He was surprised when Rudd made the character almost endearing to him. Earlier it was rumored that Fillion was considered for the Ant-Man role. The rumors started after Joss Whedon directed The Avengers, as he and the director had worked together on Firefly.

Fillion debunked the rumors, sharing that there was no truth in them. Interestingly, Fillion had an affinity to play a comic book supervillain, which came true when he was cast as T.D.K. in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.

When Paul Rudd debuted as Ant-Man, he quickly made the pint-sized hero one of the most popular characters in Marvel. His take on the character even impressed Nathan Fillion, who didn’t have the highest opinion on Ant-Man at first.
What Nathan Fillion thought of Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man Nathan Fillion | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Fillion considered himself a fan of superhero films, and starred in his own fair share of crime-fighting flicks. He was known for voicing Green Lantern on a couple of animated DC projects. He also had a role in the James Gunn original superhero movie Super.
In a resurfaced interview with the Advocate, while expressing his own desire to play superhero films, Fillion discussed his love of Marvel films. He was particularly surprised by the Marvel film Ant-Man, with Rudd playing the titular character. Fillion thought Rudd helped make a character he considered silly at first look quite endearing.

Corey Stoll’s son Nico isn’t quite ready to see his dad playing the supervillain.
The actor, who portrays Yellowjacket in Marvel’s Ant-Man, recently told People magazine that his 8-year-old son “just started trying to watch” the 2015 superhero movie, however, he didn’t get very far.
“He was like, ‘This is weird,'” Stoll recalled, adding that he thinks “seeing me as a bad guy is a little weird for him.”
The House of Cards actor stars opposite Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly in Ant-Man. Though Stoll’s character appeared to die at the end of the film, he returned in 2023’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, only this time he used the name M.O.D.O.K.

Morgan Freeman did not reach the heights in Hollywood by always playing Mr. Nice Guy. His ruthless decision to fire a famous rapper from one of his movies shows the actor’s commitment to his craft. In 2013, Freeman joined forces with Robert De Niro, Michael Douglas, and Kevin Kline to star in the comedy film Last Vegas. The film was supposed to have rapper T.I. in a supporting role in the film.

After the release of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,’ the superhero media landscape was rocked by allegations against Jonathan Majors, who portrayed Victor Timely in ‘Loki’ Season 1 and Kang the Conqueror in ‘Quantumania,’ set to be a pivotal villain in the Multiversal Saga.
Jonathan Majors’ career took a downturn following his arrest in March 2023 on charges of assaulting a woman rumored to be his girlfriend. Subsequently, he faced layoffs from multiple projects, departure of his manager and PR team, and the withdrawal of several commercials featuring the actor.
Then, nine months after the incident, a guilty verdict was reached, and Majors received a probation sentence. Shortly after, Disney terminated Majors from his role as Kang, the character he portrayed in both seasons of ‘Loki’ and the ‘Ant-Man’ movie.

Following the release of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Qunatumania’ the superhero media world was shaken by allegations brought to light against Jonathan Majors, introduced in ‘Loki’ Season 1 as Victor Timely and in ‘Quantumania’ as Kang the Conqueror, the next big villain for the Multiversal Saga.
Jonathan Majors’ career has been in somewhat of a freefall ever since he was arrested in March 2023 after an alleged assault of a woman he knew and was rumored to be his girlfriend. He was laid off from several projects, his manager and PR team quit, and several commercials featuring the actor were pulled.
Then, last year 9 months after the incident occurred, the guilty verdict came and Majors was sentenced to probation. Almost immediately Kang was fired from Disney and fans got the confirmation that he won’t be proceeding as Kang, the role he played in both seasons of ‘Loki’ and ‘Ant-Man’ movie.

The first trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine smashed global records back in February by scoring 365 million views in 24 hours, and the Merc With a Mouth's MCU debut has now broken another pre-release record.
Tickets went on sale earlier this week with a new teaser (check it out below), and the CEO of AMC Theaters, Adam Aron, has now announced that the superhero team-up movie sold more tickets on day one than any other R-rated movie in the company's history.
This is just one theater chain, of course, but AMC is the biggest in the world, with the largest share of the U.S. theater market ahead of Regal and Cinemark.
The prospect of seeing Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson joining forces with Hugh Jackman's Logan is clearly a huge draw, and while it obviously remains to be seen how the movie ultimately performs at the box office, this is a very good sign.

It's now been over 5 years since Marvel Studios last released an Avengers movie. While Covid and last year's strikes have to take some of the blame, it's fair to say the McU's heroes should have re-assembled by now.
As we write this, Avengers 5 (previously titled The Kang Dynasty) is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 1, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars set to follow on May 7, 2027.
With Disney CEO Bob Iger pushing for Marvel Studios to get back top quality over quantity, there are concerns that there's no longer enough time to effectively build to the stories which need to be told in those movies. Then, there's the fact the Multiverse Saga's new big bad, Kang, is reportedly being sidelined.
It's easy to forget that we only saw Thanos in a few brief scenes before Avengers: Infinity War so the villain - or some Variant of him - can still work,...

Over the last few years, we’ve seen the rise of intimacy coordinators in Hollywood, but Michael Douglas wonders whether it’s not just executives stepping on the toes of filmmakers.
“It’s interesting with all the intimacy coordinators,” Michael Douglas told The Telegraph. “It feels like executives taking control away from filmmakers – but there have been some terrible faux pas and harassment.“
Douglas added: “Sex scenes are like fight scenes, it’s all choreographed. In my experience you take responsibility as the man to make sure the woman is comfortable, you talk it through. You say, ‘Ok, I’m gonna touch you here if that’s all right’. It’s very slow but looks like it’s happening organically, which is hopefully what good acting looks like.“

While the MCU expands with the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, the franchise has one of its biggest movies awaiting an update. The climax of the ‘Multiverse Saga’ is looming on the horizon. The franchise has yet to share any news about Avengers 5, especially after it lost its main villain Kang after the actor Jonathan Majors was sentenced and dropped from the role.
However, a popular scooper has revealed some major updates about the film. The film is set to focus on the ‘New Avengers’ which does not seem to include some Og members of the team such as Thor and Hawkeye. Despite Majors’ firing, Kang still seems to be in the mix and will reportedly be one of two villains.

Marvel Television was originally a separate entity from Marvel Studios, spearheaded by Jeph Loeb under the watchful eye of former Marvel Entertainment Chairman Isaac Perlmutter.
Before being shut down in 2019 (when Disney handed full control of all things Marvel to Kevin Feige), Marvel Television produced the likes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Netflix's Defenders slate, and even the likes of Cloak & Dagger, The Runaways, and M.O.D.O.K.
The vast majority of characters were off-limits to Marvel Television, with Marvel Studios' desires prioritised by Disney. For Feige, Loeb's outfit was an annoyance, particularly as much of what they produced - Inhumans, for example - damaged the MCU brand.
Marvel Studios has since discovered that producing TV shows isn't as easy as it looks. Last year, the decision was made to creatively overhaul Daredevil: Born Again and the studio's small screen output as a whole, with "Head Writers" finally replaced with proper showrunners.

Before later movies characterized by their muddy CGI and digital collage of actors, the Marvel Cinematic Universe actually pulled off some cool filmmaking tricks with the help of special effects. Case in point: the puny, pre-serum version of Steve Rogers fans of the then-new series saw in 2011's "Captain America: The First Avenger." According to The Wrap, the movie achieved Steve's original look via a combination of strategies, and scenes set before his transformation into the Cap we know were actually shot three times.
In one version of the scene, Chris Evans would stand in place and deliver his lines. In another, a scrawnier stand-in — "Atonement" and "Merlin" actor Leander Deeny — would perform in his place. In a third variation, the scene was reportedly filmed without any actor. This gave the effects team tons of footage to work their magic on. While productions typically shoot out of order, The Wrap...

In the world of comic book movies, there has never been a stranger relationship than the one between Jon Watts and Spider-Man. One of the most critically as well as commercially favored and strongest IPs of Marvel Comics, Spider-Man’s entry into the MCU was placed in the hands of a creator with the strangest IMDb credits under his directorial section.
Known for directing music videos, shorts, a claymation movie, and television series, Watts couldn’t have been placed at a more substantial position and with a more high-risk, high-reward IP than directing Spider-Man’s first debut under the Marvel banner after the controversial 12-year-long saga at Sony.

Among Marvel Studios’ upcoming releases, the ‘Avengers’ series stands out as the most anticipated. With two new installments in development, the journey to the fifth film has been eventful. Following Jonathan Majors’ dismissal in December due to allegations of third-degree assault against his former partner, the film’s direction has become uncertain.
Internally, the title shifted from ‘Kang Dynasty’ to ‘Avengers 5,’ leaving doubts about Kang’s role as the main antagonist. To provide clarity amidst the confusion, we’ve crafted this guide to consolidate all current information about the movie.

Released in theaters on May 2, 2022, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness marked Sam Raimi's triumphant return to the world of superhero cinema after previously helming Tob Maguire's Spider-Man trilogy.
The film was generally praised by fans and critics alike, on its way to grossing $955.8 million at the global box office.
However, a new report from Forbes raises questions about whether the film was profitable, considering its massive budget.
Previously, it was thought that Disney/Marvel spent $294M to produce the film, however, tax filings that Disney is required to disclose for productions filmed in the U.K. have revealed that Marvel spent £331.9 million or $414.9 million on the Doctor Strange sequel.
Given that box office revenue is split 50/50, Marvel pocketed ~$477.9 million after sharing ticket sales with theater owners, and that doesn't include what Marvel spent on P&a costs.
Recently, Raimi's name has come up as a potential director...

One of the topics that has recently been in discussion in Tinseltown has been the presence of intimacy coordinators on sets. And the Basic Instinct star Michael Douglas has also joined the conversation as he shared his stance on the matter in a recent appearance on The Radio Times. The subject of discussion has been widely debated in the film industry.

While some find intimacy coordinators as invaluable resources for filming such scenes, others have voiced opposition for various reasons. Douglas seemed to align with the latter perspective. However, his remarks about ensuring the woman’s comfort do not sit well considering the experience his Basic Instinct co-star had while filming the Oscar-nominated film.

Avengers 5 was originally titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, only for the movie to lose that shortly after Marvel Studios decided to take the focus off Kang the Conqueror (a result of the mixed response to Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and Jonathan Majors' legal troubles).
However, a new actor is expected to play a Kang Variant who will still be the Multiverse Saga's main threat. Meanwhile, Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron is overhauling Avengers 5's script after Jeff Loveness first took a crack at it.
He was supposedly fired from the project shortly after the Ant-Man threequel flopped, while Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton has moved on to Wonder Man and the Shang-Chi sequel.

There are many remarkable things about Deadpool & Wolverine. For one, it marks the MCU’s first serious foray into formerly Fox-owned mutant territory. It’s certainly the first Marvel movie ever to, um, feature gags about pegging. But even more notable than either of those things, it’s the only Marvel Studios film set to arrive in cinemas in 2024 full-stop. Post-pandemic – and in the wake of the box office-sweeping high of Avengers: Endgame – Marvel has struggled to reach audiences on a scale it used to, with recent films like Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels seriously underperforming. Factor in the overwhelming volume of Marvel stories that have been in the works across cinematic releases and streaming series, and the powers that be declared a rethink.
That included dialling down the number of Marvel projects for audiences to digest – hence, Deadpool & Wolverine is the only MCU movie to land this year.

Disney has been trying to get back on track as their acquired properties have taken hits over the years. Marvel Studios is a big brand that audiences have voted against with their wallets lately. With projects like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels underperforming at the box office, many people debated whether superhero fatigue had finally set in. When Bob Iger returned to run the House of Mouse, the CEO had voiced his concerns over the quantity of material that Marvel and Star Wars had been releasing. He had also championed films focusing on story rather than messages.
Iger had long pledged to reduce the number of projects that Marvel and Star Wars produce. According to Variety, in the company’s quarterly earnings call on Tuesday, the CEO said, “We’re slowly going to decrease volume and go to probably about two TV series a year instead of...

Whether you happen to enjoy Marvel Studios' more recent projects or not, it's hard to argue with the perception that the MCU franchise is far from the unstoppable juggernaut it once was.
With the likes of Eternals, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels underperforming (and receiving mixed/negative reviews), Disney recently decided to implement a "quality over quantity" approach, and CEO Bob Iger has now announced plans to reshape the MCU slate by reducing the studio's annual big and small screen output.
Going forward, we will see no more than 2-3 movies and 2 TV shows per year.
“I’ve been working hard with the studio to reduce output and focus more on quality, that’s particularly true with Marvel,” Iger said during Disney’s fiscal Q2 earnings call. "We’re slowly going to decrease volume and go to probably about two TV series a year instead of what had become four,...

As far as the Marvel Cinematic Universe is concerned, aka the MCU, there is no barrier that can justify the fans’ utter loyalty to the franchise. Unlike the Phase Four era, which alienated and divided fans more than ever, the billion-dollar franchise has always attracted the attention of critics and audiences from all over, proving its fascinating command over the IP and the power of storytelling.

Disney CEO Bob Iger said the company will limit its output of Marvel movies to “two good films” a year — three maximum — from about four and also cut the numbers of TV series spinoffs for the franchise.
Speaking on a conference call with analysts Tuesday after quarterly numbers, Iger took questions about the studio strategy after some high-profile misses led to widespread talk of “superhero fatigue.”
Marvel shows will dip to two series a year from four. He called output “a vestige of basically a desire in the past to increase volume. We are stemmed from a desire in the past to increase volume. We are slowly going to decrease volume.”
Iger said he’s “working hard with the studio to reduce output and focus more on quality” and that “overall I feel great” about how things are shaping up.

Marvel had a rough year in 2023. Many of its properties underperformed, and they lost their big villain due to Jonathan Majors being fired. Looking forward to their upcoming slate, comic fans have been excited about some of the studio’s projects over the next few years. Will these films help Marvel regain control? The upcoming Thunderbolts film has been one that fanboys have been hoping to see since the MCU started. With some recent news about the property coming up, it seems like the right time to break down what we know about the production.
Who Are The Thunderbolts?
The team first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1997 in an issue of The Incredible Hulk. They seemed to be a new group of superheroes that had arrived on the scene and gained acclaim very quickly. The reader was informed that the group was actually a group of supervillains led by Baron Zemo.

Nick Jonas and Paul Rudd are set to star in “Power Ballad” a musical comedy from John Carney, who directed “Once” and “Sing Street.” They are currently filming in Dublin.
“Power Ballad” was written by Carney and Peter McDonald. The official logline for the film reads, “An uplifting music-driven story about a wedding singer, a rock star and the song that comes between them.”
Jonas and Rudd are both known for their work on-screen with Jonas’ credits including “Camp Rock,” Scream Queens” and “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” and a TV performance of “Jersey Boys Live!” Rudd is known for “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” “Only Murders In The Building,” “Knocked Up” and Marvel’s Ant-Man films.
However, both of them have stacked Broadway credits, too. Jonas started acting on Broadway at seven years old. He’s been in “Les Misérables,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Hairspray,” “Annie Get Your Gun” and “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying...

Robert Downey Jr. called it “mind-blowing” to see Jeremy Renner up on his feet and celebrating at Chris Evans’ wedding last September. The Captain America actor tied the knot with Alba Baptista in a private ceremony in Cape Cod, Mass., and was surrounded by his longtime Marvel co-stars. Renner was hospitalized at the start of 2023 with near-fatal injuries after his snow plow ran him over.
As part of Chris Hemsworth’s new Vanity Fair cover, some of Evans’ Marvel co-stars remembered attending the wedding and being so proud of Renner’s recovery. Hemsworth attended the nuptials with his mother, who Downey called “a complete hoot. There’s a lot of her in him.”

Chris Hemsworth has expressed his disappointment at Thor: Love And Thunder, and there are hints that he may reprise the Thor role one more time.
Released in 2022, Thor: Love And Thunder didn’t do too badly for Marvel Studios – in fact, compared to 2023 offerings Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels, its $760m box office sounds downright rosy.

Secret Invasion just had their season (or series?) finale and the reaction to the latest Marvel television show is certainly not good. In fact, Secret Invasion is the first Marvel series to get a rotten tomatoes score from both fans and critics. It’s such a shame too because people were highly anticipating the Nick Fury saga as the trailer genuinely looked good. At the very least, Loki left the brand on a high note for a year as the second season was genuinely great. Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quatuamania did a terrible job of convincing audiences that the brand has

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has certainly seen better days. Just five years ago, each film was almost a guaranteed billion-dollar smash for Disney and Marvel Studios. Now, in an era where the entertainment industry has been oversaturated by steaming, people seem less and less interested in the franchise.
In the early days of Disney+, shows like Loki and The Falcon and The Winter Solder were must watch television. Now, shows like Secret Invasion, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Ms. Marvel are plummeting in viewership. Not to mention the recent box office failures of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels at the 2023 box office.
Not only has Marvel been losing it big in the once popular superhero genre, but Sony is also dropping with their Spider-Verse spin-off films like Morbius and Madame Web, and Warner Bros. Discovery with their DC Universe films like The Flash and Blue Beetle.

The film industry is reeling from the loss of the legendary production designer Ray Chan. He died earlier this week, as promotion for his latest film, Deadpool & Wolverine, kicks into high gear. He is survived by his wife Lindsay and his children Caspar and Sebastian.

The collaboration between the merc with a mouth and the clawed crusader has to work hard to mashup the alternate realities, but it could open portals to a lot of multiversal fun
It is somewhat ironic that just when the Marvel Cinematic Universe is entering its most intriguing phase, with the introduction of the multiverse and superheroes jetting in from all sorts of weird and wonderful corners of the Hollywood studio system, it has also begun to deliver its biggest duds. Every Marvel fan is currently busy binging on the X-Men ’97 series. The premise of the animated series picks up where the 1990s X-Men: The Animated Series ends. The MCU series is created by Beau DeMayo. So far, seven episodes have dropped on Disney+ Hotstar. In the latest episode, ‘Bright Eyes’, the team has brought back Steve Rogers, aka Captain America.
In MCU movies, Chris Evans, who played Steve Rogers, is probably dead after Avengers: Endgame. But seeing the Cap return in X-Men ’97 made the Marvel fans happy. However, not everyone is pleased with the way they treated him in the animated series. Fans are unhappy with how the makers showed Steve’s alignment towards the government when he stood against their wrongdoings in movies. It’s a scene between Rogue (voiced by Lenore Zann) and Cap (Josh Keaton) that has got the reactions.

Recently, the Corridor Crew YouTube channel added the 130th video to their 'VFX Artists React' series. The crew took a look at special effects from a few movies, including recent releases like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Wonder Woman 1984.
These CGI extravaganzas drew some criticisms from the team, while they were pleasantly surprised by the effects from different movie – one that is more than four decades old.
The Killer Car
In the 1983 film Christine, an awkward teenager named Arnie falls in love with a busted up 1958 Plymouth Fury named Christine. Christine has a long and violent history – when a factory worker dropped cigarette ash on her, he was later found dead in the car. Since then, at least three other people have died in Christine.
As Arnie works to lovingly restore the car, his personality changes from a sweet and bumbling nerd to a rebellious and arrogant bad boy.

Last year, Disney faced several disappointments at the box office. The first for 2023 was the third Ant-Man film, “Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania.” Released on February 17, 2023, the film only brought in $476.1 million. While many accepted that Disney likely lost money on the film, a new report seemingly indicates that they may have lost much more than initially thought.
According to Caroline Reid from Forbes, the film’s budget was estimated by the media to be around $200 million. Still, a recent financial filing seems to indicate it was significantly higher, at $326.6 million! It seems that a financial statement was filed for the end-of-year report on December 31, 2022, which was just a few weeks ahead of the film’s release.
Where did she find the information?
Reid indicates that she found the filing by looking for the film’s code name, which she says was Pym Productions III. This makes sense as Hank...

Taylor Sheridan has made a massive name in television after making Yellowstone for Paramount Network. The neo-Western series starring Kevin Costner has been running for five seasons with numerous spin-offs attached to it. It is commendable that most of the Yellowstone content is written by Sheridan himself. However, his approach was a bit different initially.
Kevin Costner in Yellowstone
Taylor Sheridan did not think about writing most of the series himself from the start. Initially, he wanted to borrow the style of the Arrowverse co-creator Greg Berlanti. Unfortunately, the concept of a writer’s room did not work for Sheridan and he took on the task of telling the tales to the audience the way he wanted.
Why did Taylor Sheridan’s plan for a writer’s room for Yellowstone fail?
Taylor Sheridan created and acted in Yellowstone
The presently defunct- Arrowverse was one of the biggest things in television.
