- TriviaThe scene where Buffy objects to Giles' drawing of her with wide hips, was apparently improvised by Sarah Michelle Gellar.
- GoofsCharacters do not have voices, yet are able to gasp audibly and make some noises. EXPLANATION: Voiceless sounds are those in which the vocal folds do not vibrate. Vowels are always voiced; some consonants are voiced, but many are not. Voiceless consonants ("t", "p", "k", etc) do not use the voice. They are percussive and use hard sounds. These sounds can be made by a person even if their vocal folds were removed or damaged; thus, a gasp or sigh (sharp in- or exhalation of air) can also be made without using voice.
- Quotes
[no one can speak; all written or mimed]
Rupert Giles: Who are the Gentlemen? They are fairy tale monsters. What do they want?
[Willow points at her chest]
Xander Harris: [cups hands at his chest and mouths] Boobies?
Rupert Giles: Hearts. They come to a town. They steal all the voices so no one can scream. Then...
[Giles shows drawings of Gentlemen ripping out the heart from a person in bed]
Rupert Giles: They need seven. They have at least two.
Xander Harris: How do we kill them?
[Buffy mimes stabbing, but looks more like masturbating; Giles, Willow and Xander look at Buffy with disturbed faces; Buffy mimes again with a stake; they all look relieved]
Rupert Giles: In the tales, no sword can kill them.

"Hush" is certainly the best episode of the Fourth Season of Buffy up to this moment. Having lots of humor and funny situations, I liked a lot. Spike is hilarious, the romance between Xander and Anya is cool, but I loved the "intense" dialog between Buffy and Riley in end. The Gothic scenario of the final battle against "The Gentlemen" recalls the environment of "Dark City". My vote is ten.
