- When Debra and the kids go away for the weekend, Ray's afraid to stay alone.
- Debra decides to take the kids to Connecticut to visit her parents, so Ray is left home alone for the weekend. But he soon realizes how scary a big empty house can be at night and he has trouble sleeping. And the fact that Ally's noise-making toy, a voice recorder doll, was left in his bedroom didn't help. So he visits Robert's apartment and they get to arguing who is more scared. They inevitably both end up at Frank and Marie's house.
- Debra and the kids leave for the weekend to visit their other grandparents. After his friends leave (he has the whole gang (Doug (Kevin James), Andy (Andy Kindler), Gianni (Jon Manfrellotti) over to watch the match and shoot some shit), Ray finds it difficult to sleep in an empty house, so he goes to Robert's apartment and intrudes on his date. Robert and his date Aileen (Leslie Windram) were about to kiss. Ray makes his date leave, citing that its already 12:30 in the night, nixing any chance of them getting intimate. Robert knows that Ray and he have never hung out at midnight. Ray says that this is his one night of freedom and he doesn't want to spend it alone at home.
Robert says Ray is just afraid to spend the night alone and sends him back home. Robert tells Ray to turn on the TV if he is feeling lonely or afraid. Ray makes fun of Robert as he used to be very afraid of monkeys as a kid and always used to sleep with the hallway light on. Ray tries to sleep alone in his bed but is not able to. Ray is too fidgety and nothing he tries can put him to sleep. Ray puts on the discovery channel as suggested by Robert, but the nature documentaries are all about how the strong prey upon the weak in the jungle. Ray gets up and goes to his parent's place.
Ray finds that Robert is already there. Robert has told Marie that he had his apartment fumigated (due to an infestation of army ants) and he can't go back for a few days yet. In reality, Robert didn't want to be alone in his apartment, after Ray had reminded him of all his childhood insecurities. They re-live some of the childhood fears with Marie and Frank. Frank used to tell them scary stories about their brother being a half spider, waiting to eat their brain once they fell asleep, or Ray's fear of leprechauns (which Robert told Frank and Frank took full advantage of it), or Gargoyles in the closet. Frank says that Ray and Robert used to ask him for a scary story every night, so its not his fault that they got scarred for life. Marie used to love it, since every time Frank scared them, the kids would go running to her and she would get to slobber all over them. Robert used to wet his bed due to fear instilled in him, but turns out Robert never wet his bed, Ray used to pour water on Robert to make it seem like that. Ray did that as he didn't want to always look like a baby, and wanted Robert to call for Marie once in a while.
Ray takes Robert to sleep at his place, but they wait for Marie and Frank to relax and then sneak back into Marie's place and hide in Robert's closet with an intention of scaring him. But Frank had seen them getting in and pretends to have sex with Marie to get right back at them. Ray and Robert surrender and are thrown out by Frank with humiliation.
